HISTORYOF EPC!
The Export Inspection Council (EIC) was set up by the
Government of India under Section 3 of the Export (Quality
Control and Inspection) Act, 1963 (22 of 1963), in order to ensure
sound development of export trade of India through Quality
Control and Inspection and for matters connected thereof.

OBJECTIVE of epc
• The main role of EPC is to project the image of India abroad as reliable
Supplier of high quality products in the foreign market.
• In particular EPC monitor the Observance of international standards and
By specifications by exporters.
• The EPC’s keeps abreast of trends and opportunities in international market for
goods and services and assist their members in taking advantage of them.
• To offer professional advice to their member in areas such as technology upgradation ,
quality and design improvements.
FUNCTIONS OF EPC
• To increase participation in trade fairs , exhibitions and buyer-seller in India and in
Abroad.
•To provide commercially useful information and assistance to their members in
developing and increasing their exports .
• To provide new information such as about technology upgradation , quality upgrade ,
design upgrade to the exporters.
• To organize visits of delegation from EPC to abroad to explore new overseas
opportunities.
• To promote export interaction between export community and the state and the
central government.
• To provide statistical data of imports and exports of countries , data of its members
and data relevant to international trade.
• Collection and distribution of new export opportunities to exporters from the
overseas market through:-
a) Newsletters
b) Bulletins
c) Fax
d) Letters
e) Telefax
f) Fax
g) E-mail.
