This document proposes implementing an internship program for the History Department at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU). It notes that while college enrollment is high, not all degrees provide equal job opportunities, as employers desire practical experience. Many humanities graduates struggle with underemployment. The EMC and CMS programs at EKU already have internship models that could inform a History internship program. A survey found History students support such a program. The proposal recommends developing a History internship program that draws from EMC and CMS guidelines and addresses funding to provide History students practical experience and job opportunities.
The document provides information about career opportunities for science students after completing class 12. It begins by encouraging students to start career planning early and choose a career path suited to their goals, strengths, and interests rather than just external pressures. It then lists various career options across different fields like engineering, pharmacy, biotechnology, and more. It also discusses factors to consider when choosing an institution and provides tips for effective career planning and decision making. Overall, the document aims to guide students in exploring career options and choosing suitable paths for their long term satisfaction and success.

From the very first day that a prospect opens your admissions materials, they have a relationship with you. This is a one-to-one, lifelong relationship between the university and an individual, not a many-to-one relationship between different departments of a university and a prospect, a student, an alum, and a donor.
When each stage of the relationship cycle is manned by a different team in a different silo with a different technology, our half of the relationship seems schizophrenic, forgetful, and thoughtless.
Today's admissions prospect is next decade's donor. This is why your admissions team needs to meet with your student affairs team and your alumni team and get on the same page. Fran Zablocki talks about the concept of lifecyle relationship management, the challenges to achieving it, and the potential rewards if you can.

The document discusses challenges facing graduate students and proposes areas for targeted support. It notes that only about 50% of doctoral students attain a PhD, and attrition may be higher for master's students. The document then profiles common challenges faced by different types of graduate students and identifies areas that could benefit from additional support, such as writing, research skills, navigating academic culture, and building self-efficacy. It proposes addressing these through email tips, webinars, online courses, and group coaching to help more students succeed.
Alumni Mentoring Queen's University Belfast Chris Boyd Interview 124369 qub r...Chris Boyd
The document discusses Queen's University's Alumni Career Mentoring scheme which pairs current students with alumni volunteers for career advice and guidance. It has grown significantly over the past few years. The scheme allows students to engage with alumni through panel events, networking sessions, and one-on-one mentoring matches. Both provide positive feedback on their experience in the mentoring scheme and encourage other students and alumni to participate.
This document provides information about career decision making and choosing a career. It discusses examining personal characteristics like personality, skills, interests, and family influence. It also covers using psychological tests and important considerations for career choices. The document then discusses workplace trends with the changing roles of technology, an evolving workforce, and challenges faced by women and minorities. Finally, it covers coping with occupational hazards like job stress, sexual harassment, and unemployment.
The document discusses the debate around whether a university education or work experience is better to guarantee a good job. It provides arguments for both perspectives.
It argues that while a university education provides fundamental learning and qualifications that can help get jobs, over 150,000 university graduates in Vietnam cannot find work each year. Work experience allows people to gain knowledge and skills on the job in a flexible way compared to academics.
Success comes from how one thinks and works, not just degrees or years of experience. Both university and work require continuous learning and practicing skills to adapt and achieve success in the long run.
