Cloud computing has arrived on the IT landscape with all the commotion of a Hollywood blockbuster in terms of its media coverage. The hype and chatter that this has caused has arguably not helped its initial growth and development as companies have been at the mercy of a mixed set of messages, some of which have almost approached the point of confusion in various cases.
The document discusses two collections of digitized British periodicals from the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries. Collection I contains 160 periodicals dealing with literature, philosophy, history, science, and the arts published between 1681-1937. Collection II contains 340 additional periodicals published between 1681-1914 focusing on English literary periodicals. Together they provide over 5 million pages of searchable full text and images from periodicals that originally published many landmark works. The collections allow new ways of understanding life and thought during those time periods by restoring the original context of articles and works.
The document provides instructions for a lab activity where students will use an Earth Science Reference Table to locate places in New York State using latitude and longitude. The document discusses different perspectives on the fashion industry and how it is changing. It notes trends moving from mass production to mass innovation, consumer to co-producer, and efficiency to sustainability. Several positions are outlined: one sees the industry as too big to change quickly; another advocates empowering people to save unused clothes; a third promotes collections that remain available long-term; a fourth sees probing connections between critical views and glamour; and a fifth addresses using fashion to portray social and political ideas. The document questions what the current fashion code is, what influences it, and how professionals can contribute.
UDL in Literature Instruction and Progress Monitoring: Raising Middle School ...CAST
This document discusses a study that compared the effectiveness of online progress monitoring using the Strategic Reader program versus offline progress monitoring on middle school students' reading comprehension scores. The study found that students using the online program had greater increases in test scores, especially students with disabilities. Teachers also viewed student data, designed interventions, and modified student supports more when using the online program compared to offline. The discussion suggests that reducing barriers to progress monitoring through technology can help improve student outcomes.
The document summarizes key findings from interviews with five organizations that have implemented SOA in production environments. The organizations ranged from 2-6 years of experience with SOA. Case studies of each organization provided details on their business drivers for SOA, implementation approach, products used, results and lessons learned. Common themes across organizations included exponential growth once initial SOA services are established, importance of governance, value of consulting, benefits of planning, and importance of loose coupling. SOA implementations yielded benefits like reduced integration costs but also challenges like significant investment required.
The document summarizes the effects of Hurricane Katrina on New Orleans in 2005. It describes the damage caused by the storm and the response efforts from various organizations to provide relief. It also discusses criticisms of the US government response and the need to educate people outside Louisiana about the ongoing challenges facing residents through rebuilding efforts and addressing social issues.
This is a presentation I gave in my fundraising class about the SMS fundraising that The American Red Cross is using for the Haiti disaster and how other nonprofits can use it.

Complessivamente sono state presenti circa 40 persone in

in entrambi i workshop:

competenza.
In particolare entrambi i gruppi danno molta importanza

rappresentazione quasi come “motore” dell’intero insieme.
