straightaway the title ‘EVIL DEAD’ appears on our screen with a non-diegetic
sound. This last for approximately 10 seconds. This introduces the opening of
the movie to the viewers implying a dramatic and intense story line that will
keep the viewers glued to their seat. The way the title and the sound are
combined it is obvious that the film we are about to watch is a thriller. Also the
colour scheme of dark red and black connotes death and negativity also
giving us a reason to think that it is a thriller movie. Finally, the forest behind the
writing exposes the stereotypical sense of relinquishment and mystery which is
common theme in a Thriller/Horror movies.
