Azreen's life changes dramatically after a fire that results in the death of the Old Lady. She learns that her sister Madhuri was secretly in a relationship with Mohd Asyraf and was not her biological sister. Azreen forgives others and moves to London to start a new life. Though sad about the deaths of her family members, Azreen finds inner peace and happiness through forgiveness. The novel teaches about finding strength through hardship and acceptance of life's unpredictable events.

1. The novel that I have studied is the curse written by Lee Su Ann. The important event that I
think change life of a character is after the outbreak of the fire which results in the Old
Lady’s death. This event had changed the life of a main character in this novel that is Azreen.
Firstly, this incident, had made Azreen to become stronger. It is because after that
incident, Mohd asyraf a man that she’s secretly in love since secondary school was actually
having a secret relationship with her sister, Madhuri. Other than that, Azreen also got to
know that Madhuri was actually not her biological sister and she successfully finds out who
was the culprit murder behind her sister's demise. From all of that incident, it has made
Azreen to become more mature and think everything that had happened was actually
having been written as a faith.
Next, Azreen learn to forgive and forget everything that had happened. Before the old
lady died, she had said to Azreen that there was nothing more liberating in receiving
forgiveness than giving it. The old lady also said that once azreen have sincerely forgiven, all
of her burden was lifted from her chest and she will finally free and that was what she
practices after she got to know everything that had happened behind her sister’s death.
Furthermore, Azreen decide to leave the village and continued to stay in London after all
her family members had died. Azreen want to create a new life and forget everything that
had happened. Before she went to London, she visited her family’s grave. When she walked
up the road that lead to the jetty to leave the island with her foster family, she saw a faint
figure standing beside a tree and though it as a Madhuri that see her with a smile. Azreen
know that now Madhuri can leave the world peacefully and hoped that Madhuri will be
blessed in heaven.

2. The novel that I have studied is the curse written by Lee Su Ann. This novel ended with
Azreen learning the truth about a lot of things surrounding her sister’s death. It was very sad
for Azreen too, because she had to cope with the deaths of the Old Lady and her parents.
As a reader, I like the ending of this novel because I have learned something valuable
that is forgiveness. From this novel, I’m believing that trough forgiveness, we will be able to
get the inner peace and strength. Somehow, it helps us to be a positive person and create a
new experienced in our life.
Additionally, I like the ending of this novel because it has a happy ending that I hoped
since I started reading this novel. I was glad that finally azreen got to find her own
happiness and decide to create a new life. Even though she doesn't have anyone in this
world anymore after all of her family members and her best friend that is old lady had
passed away, she still manages to continue her life without being despair and emotional.
Furthermore, I love the ending because somehow it teaches me to accept everything
that had happened with all of our might, even though it is not as what we predict to
happen. It is because sometimes things that we are not wishing to happen will teach us to
be a better person in the future and give us a very good moral value that we will be always
remembered in our life.
