Evans Cycles is a nationwide
cycle retailer trading from over
45 sites plus a large mail order
catalogue business. Established
in 1921 in Kennington Road,
South London, the business has
grown from a single site into
what is recognised today as the
leading independent cycle
company in the UK with a
turnover approaching £100m.
Growth had come at a price and
specialist assistance and support
were required in a number of
key areas of expenditure.
Evans cycles has a large number
of sites and supplies with a large
consumption of over 4,000,000
kWh of electricity per year so
energy costs were a major part
of their expenses. Due to the
ever increasing price of energy
and other escalating costs within
the company the Finance
Director contacted BCR
Associates who instigated a
business cost review.

worked closely with Evans
Cycles estates team providing a

THE RESULTS
After assembling the
relevant paperwork BCR
Associates carried out a full
review and identified
various solutions to
consolidate annual
expenditure.
Despite a complex economic
climate and a volatile
energy market with ever
increasing prices, the expert
knowledge of our specialists
saved Evans Cycles
£59,700 (25.71%)
against their supplier rates.
The review also highlighted
various billing issues that
needed urgent action.
Regardless of increasing
prices within the energy
market, BCR Associates’
supply chain relationships
ensured our Account
Manager was able to realise
sizeable savings in both
time and money.
Our client also received a
further £27,000 credit
thanks to the review
highlighting incorrect billing
by suppliers.
