Audience Feedback?

3. We went out and asked the
public to read the brief
version of our storyline, so
that we could see what their
initial thoughts were before
we started the construction
of the film, and also because
it was a complicated story we
wanted to make sure it made
sense.

4. Everyone we spoke to thought
it was an interesting story, and
nothing they had heard of
before. Some comments were
made around the
disappearance of Jared, and
asking what had happened. There were also others that
mentioned the same thing needed to be cleared up, because
it was easily understood whether Jared dies before the story
begins, or whether he died in the car accident within the
story. Over all however everyone that read the story really
enjoyed and couldn’t wait to be able to watch it.

5. After looking through the
comments it really helped us
tweak our story so that it was
perfected ready for the construction
stage of our film making process.
A few changes we made included
getting rid of some areas that weren’t needed, so that it left space
for parts of story that were needed to make the story make sense.
We also cleared up the confusion over when Jared apparently died
by adding extra dialogue for the mother to speak when it came to
filming, so that it seems like she has been trying to tell Carrie for a
while about Jared’s death so that she can come to terms with it.

7. After getting feedback from the
audience on our initial idea, we
wanted to make sure that the main
audience still understood the film
after we had interpreted it on screen.
We also wanted to make sure that we
created some understanding and
something meaningful for our
audience to relate to, so that they
would be able to not relate to the film
but empathize with our characters,
and we used some techniques in all
areas of our film to create little hints
as to what is happening and what it is
about.

8. We wanted to use the costumes in our film as a way of physically
displaying the deterioration of Carries psychological state. We wanted to
do this in 2 ways…
First by showing that as the film goes on carries cares less and less about
what she wears, so she appears to look rougher and rougher.

9. Although it seems like a continuity error, we made sure the
actor who played Jared wore the same clothes for different
scenes as well as changing half way through the scene. This
was so that if the audience had picked up on it then they
would realise at the end of the film that it was Carrie
imagining him in different clothing. This was another
representation of Carrie’s Psyche.

10. Specifically in the drugs scene, I used multiple different
platforms and special effects to use when Carrie first takes
the pill. After this shot the next beings to get more and more
of high contrast and brighter, with little clips of previous
scenes, giving the impression that something is very wrong.

11. The most important
scene in our film is the
final one, is it makes the
rest of the film make
sense and brings
everything together. We
had to make sure that the
audience understood,
which is why we included
the empty chair and the
montage in front of the
Carries face with her
doing all of those things
on her own, so that
without using words we
can make the audience
understand.

13. After creating our film, we
went back to the public for
feedback on our final film,
in the form of a
questionnaire. This then
will help us decide if we
have done our job right in
creating meaning and
making a film that is
understandable and
empathetic enough.

our audiences opinions on the final film.
Acting was poor and needs some work
but camera was very steady and good, no

There are many clever little things like that in the filming, editing and mise-en-
scene that emphasise and suggest things about the real world in relation to this
film, it breaks some typical stereotypes and was very well put together

15. I was really pleased with these comments, and helped
me know that we did do a good job on making the film
simple to understand.
Over all we got an average rating of ..
9…which is something I am very pleased with.

16. After seeing all of these responses, and the average of
some of the questions asked, I realised that the audience
we had set out to appeal to is something we have
reached, as everyone that we gave the questionnaire to
understood the story and enjoyed the story twist at the
end.
There was also a clean wipe through everyone we asked
in regards to the music, as everyone thought it was
fitting and thought it created a great mood for the film.
