1. Evaluation Question 1
In what ways does your media
product use, develop or
challenge forms and
conventions of real media
products?
Alisha Eastwood
2. Final Front Page
On my front page for my music magazine I used a
red, grey and black colour scheme as when I
conducted research I found that many other rock
magazines, like my own, used this colour scheme or
similar. This meant that this colour scheme was a
successful and useful one if so many magazine
industries were using it. I chose grey and black firstly
because these colours would make excellent
background and font colours, and I chose the red and
white in order to make my magazine stand out with
bright colours over darker ones. Then in order to
create continuity I carried this colour scheme onto my
contents page and double page spread.
3. Final Contents Page
As you can see on my final contents page it
contains the same colour scheme as my front
page, this is to create continuity and be
consistent throughout my magazine so that it
carries the same theme and style all the way
through that appeals to my target audience.
Like on my front page I used a grey
background like this and a black title, as well
as sing red and white to highlight the
important areas of my magazine.
Additionally, I used the same plug and colour
scheme for it on my front cover and contents
page so that my audience can see how they
might have a chance to win Twenty One
Pilots tickets by entering the competition.
4. Final Front Cover and Contents Page
Both my front cover and contents page use the same style
of font for the title page, this creates continuity throughout
my front cover and contents page which will appeal to my
audience. This is because it shows that the contents page
belongs to my magazine by comparing the two together,
The font is also bold and eye-catching for my audience to
read.
I also used the same
plug in my front
page and contents
page in order to
appeal o my
audience to take part
in the competition to
win Twenty One
Pilot’s concert
tickets.
5. Final Double Page Spread
Then on my double page spread I
carried the colour scheme onto this
page as well, with the grey background
and black title, as well as using red to
make the interview stand out, and
using the white to make the contents
of the double page spread readable
and the pull quote bright over the
darker colours.
This is a clear example of continuity
throughout my music magazine which
will allow my magazine to simulate real
media products, as well as make my
magazine something that my target
audience would want to read.
6. Final Contents Page and Double Page Spread
I made the page number for my double page spread the same as my contents page, this is so that it
creates continuity throughout my magazine and allows my audience to find my double page spread on
the correct page number from looking at the contents page, as having any article on the wrong page
makes my magazine look messy and unprofessional, therefore making my audience not want to read
my magazine if they cant find the article that they want to read.
7. Final Front Page, Contents Page and Double Page
Spread
As you can see from my front cover, content page and double page spread. I have used the same artist on
each page of my magazine, this is because after conducting research on music magazines I found that most
successful magazines have their main artists on their front cover or contents page. Therefore, this influences
my audience to pick up the magazine to read it, as well as being inspired by successful magazines it will
encourage my target audience to read my magazine.
