The artist created two wire sculptures depicting the face of Jesus in response to the work of David Oliveira. They chose wire as a modern material to respond to traditional paintings using acrylic on canvas. The first small sculpture wrapped thick wire to resemble Oliveira's sketch-like style but lacked emotion. For the second larger piece, the artist used less wire to look more like a linear sketch as research on Oliveira suggested. This second piece better portrayed Jesus' sorrowful expression to represent his emotions during crucifixion, as shown in paintings like Ecce Homo.
