The document evaluates 3 logo designs created by hand for a festival with an Olympic theme. The 1st design uses Olympic colors but the orange is overpowering. The 2nd design is simple but eye-catching with colors mimicking an Olympic torch. This is the author's favorite. The 3rd design prominently features the Olympic rings but the purple writing is hard to read against the bold background colors. Overall, the 2nd design best incorporates the Olympic theme through color placement and balance.

1. Evaluation of Logo Designs
Here I will be evaluating my designs that I made for the logo. There are three designs I made
by hand. The reason to why I chose to do it by hand instead of on the computer is because
this way you can put down on paper whatever you come up with.
1st Design:
The design above is the first design I came up with. Because this festival will have the theme
of Olympics, I chose to have those colours throughout this logo. Also, as you can see in the
background I have waves which are the colours of Olympic. The main colour with tends to
stand out most is the orange that you can see. Personally, whilst doing this I didn’t think it
would be this overpowering, but now looking at it if I were to do this design again I would
definitely change that colour. Lastly, I wanted to incorporate our school into our logo, as I
thought it would be a good way to give recognition to the school.
2nd Design:

2. This design is one that I personally really liked. The reason to why I liked it so much was
because it was really plain, but effective, as I thought it was eye catchy with the colours
used. Again, in this design I decided to go along with the theme of our Festival, which is as I
mentioned before, Olympics. The way I decided to place these colours was as a fire which
mimics the Olympic Torch. I wanted to have the writing really plain but in a fun font, and the
way that it looks now, is the way I was able to achieve that.
3rd Design:
This is the final design that I done. As I done in the previous design here I wanted to add the
Olympic theme too. In this one I made it very noticeable by adding the Olympic rings. As for
the writing decided to add the school in the logo too by having ‘CCC’ standing for Cranford
Community College, and below it I placed International Festival. I was really unsure about
the colour I wanted the writing to be as I had used the main colours in the Olympic rings. I
had to settle with purple, which looking at now I’m not really happy with as it kind of hides
because of the bold colours in the background. So as I said for the 1st design, I would
definitely change the colour of the writing if I was to recreate it.
Overall, my favourite design out of all of these would have to be the 2nd Design. I think this
because the use of colours in that design complements each other really well. Also, I was
able to add the Olympic theme, so for me that was the best design.
