1. 2 minute conversation evaluation
~ What went well?
In my opinion I think that I managed to use a lot of different
camera shots to make it seem more interesting and more
appealing to watch, I also did this to explain the story a bit
better for example an establishing shot so the audience knows
where it is and I used a location where it was very open and
made sure that it was at twilight and misty at the time to
create a spooky atmosphere and to foreshadow, also in a few
scenes where Mitch playing the role of ‘IT’ is talking to Ali
playing the role of ‘Georgie’, what I did was have it as an
over the shoulder shot from IT’s perspective and It was a high
angle to show that he is superior to Georgie and was of more
importance than him. I think that I was fortunate enough to be
able to use proper equipment and use of a drone to get
different angles and extra scenes in for cinematic effect,
this also adds to production value which makes it more
interesting more like a film.
~ What didn’t go well?
I don’t think that how it was planned and how well the pre-
production was thought out, this lead to disorganization when
it came to it and we didn’t really know what we were doing
until we got to the actual place where we were going to film
(which we didn’t even know where, we just went to burley and
thought it would fit well, we were also lucky as it was foggy
so it made the atmosphere of the film a lot more spooky) I
think this shows a bit in our filming as in some parts we cut
scenes to a different location as it fits better and we
basically changed the storyline mid-way through but tried to
make it make sense. I also don’t think that the quality of the
film is up to standards as the quality of the audio wasn’t the
best as our mic didn’t work when we thought it did. Finally
the actor for the clown wasn’t the original actor as Ali (in
the yellow jacket) was the one supposed to be the clown and
Georgie was supposed to be someone else but couldn’t make it
on the day we were filming so we had to use mitch which didn’t
really know what he was doing.
~ What would I change if I could go back and start
over?
IF I could go back and start over I would try to plan ahead a
little more and make sure that all of my equipment is working
for a start and that I have a set schedule for my actors to be
there and the cameras to be set up and ready to go when we are

2. all together, this is also in addition to the pre-production
being thought out more and to spend a little bit more time on
what we will want to do that is realistic and that we can pull
off with what we are given and can get access to.
~ What I’ve learnt for next time?
I think that next time I will try to plan ahead of what we are
actually going to do or a rough outline so that when we get on
set we have an image that we want the film to look like and
create it with the surroundings that we are in. This is more
important that actually planning ahead and thinking of frame
by frame as its practically impossible to do, It is a lot
easier and comes out better when we have a rough idea on what
to do and we make it up with creative ideas as we get to the
location as new ideas will come up better than if we are sat
in a room or a class thinking of what to do.
