The student realized their preliminary magazine cover layout was unprofessional compared to their music magazine cover. The preliminary cover had scattered, unaligned text with about 8 fonts, while the music magazine had carefully aligned text and only 3 fonts. The student also learned that too many fonts can look messy, and different fonts should be used intentionally rather than just to draw attention. The student improved their photo usage, learning to fill more of the page with the subject rather than extra space. They also used a professional camera and lighting setup. Overall the student gained experience with InDesign and Photoshop, learning about layers, colors, and other design elements to improve their magazine layout.
