Russia spans both Europe and Asia no matter what boundary is used to divide the two continents. Kazakhstan is mostly located in Asia but has some territory in Europe depending on the boundary. Georgia is considered both Europe's and Asia's smallest country according to one boundary definition that places it between the Black and Caspian Seas.
2. Boundary
• The border between Europe and Asia has
never been officially designated, but anything
east of the Ural and Caucasus Mountains is
commonly considered Asia. Also, some
people believe the boundary is between the
Black and Caspian Sea.
4. Russia
• Russia is the only country that is part of both
Asia and Europe no matter what boundary
you use.
• Russia was fought over for many years
between the Russian Orthodox Church and
the Russian Muslims.
5. Kazakhstan
• A little known country bordering Russiah,
Kazakhstan is mostly in Asia, but is partly in
Europe depending on the boundary used.
• Kazakhstan’s government is comprised of a
president, who controls all three branches of the
government, and a prime minister; who controls
the economy. This type of composition of the
government is used in most Asian countries.
6. Georgia
• Georgia is the result of the dissolution of the
Soviet Union in 1991. Using the boundary that
is between the Caspian and Black Sea, Georgia
is the smallest country in both Europe and
Asia.
7. Turkey
• Turkey is a country that is typically considered
completely European, but some boundaries
place Turkey slightly in Asia.
• Turkey has a similar government to most
European Countries, but 99% of the country is
Muslim.
