Mrs. Shushmita, a 25-year-old housewife, was diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa based on symptoms of excessive weight loss, vomiting, irregular menstrual cycles, and amenorrhea. She had a strict diet from age 16 and took sleeping pills from age 17, worrying excessively about her weight. After 1 month of supportive psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, her weight increased by 4 kg, and after 6 months it increased by 15 kg. However, after 1 year there was a relapse requiring further psychotherapy. After 2 years of treatment, her weight was 55 kg with no further complaints.
