What is The Economic Times Young Leaders Program?
The Economic Times Young Leaders Program is a platform for recognizing and rewarding
India's bright young talent. This initiative is meant to encourage, identify and nurture
promising future business leaders of India Inc.
How does The Economic Times Young Leaders Program work?
The Program is divided into 4 Phases.
Phase 1 - Online personality test – All registered candidates take a simple 20 minute
personality test.
Phase 2 - Online skill check – Shortlisted participants are tested on their verbal and numerical
thinking.
Phase 3 – On-ground group discussion – Leadership qualities of participants are determined
via group assessments
Phase 4 - One-on-one interviews with CEOs – Participants are assessed by CEO jury panel
A shortlist at the end of every phase determines the candidates who will move forward. A list
of The Economic Times Young Leaders is arrived at the end of assessments across four
phases.
What are the eligibility criteria for the program?
You should be in the age band of 26 to 32 years (D.O.B. range between and including 9 July
1986 to 9 July 1992)
You must be a resident Indian national working as an employee in the corporate sector in
India.
You must not be an entrepreneur or owner/founder of the company you are currently working
at during the duration of the program.

How can I participate in The Economic Times Young Leaders Program?
The program is open to participants from all industries. You can participate in either of the
two ways:

brandet@timesgroup.com. Your participation will need to be endorsed formally by the
company.
What happens in each phase of the program?
Phase 1: Online Test - Take the test online from home or office
Register on this website (click here).
You will receive a One Time Password on your phone which has to be used to complete your
registration.
Once registration is completed, a User ID & Password will be e-mailed to you. This will be
required to take the test.
Complete the simple, multiple-option test. You will be informed once the test has been
completed.
There will be a score-based shortlisting and qualified participants will move to the next
phase.
3. You will receive an e-mail informing you if you have made it to the next phase or not.
Phase 2: Online skill check – Take the test from home or office
Once you log on to the test website, you will be asked to take three tests. The first two tests
are analytical and verbal ability tests. The time limit for completing both tests is
approximately 45 minutes, after which the session will expire. You can take this test only
once. You will not be allowed to repeat this test.
The third test is a personality assessment. The time limit for completing this test is
approximately 30 minutes. You can take this test only once. You will not be allowed to repeat
this test.
You will be informed once the tests have been completed.
There will be a score-based shortlisting and qualified participants will move to the next round.
You will receive an e-mail informing you if you have moved to the next phase or not.
Phase 3: On-ground group discussion - Ground Assessments
This phase will be conducted at pre-determined cities across the country.
You will have to take the online verification test of approximately 10 minutes during the
on-ground assessment.
For the on-ground assessment, you will be part of a group of eight-ten people and will be
evaluated through a series of assessments like group tasks, role plays, etc.
The duration of each group assessment is four hours.
There will be a score-based shortlisting and qualified participants will move to the next round.
Phase 4: One-on-one interviews with CEOs
Candidates who successfully complete phase 3 will be asked to give a personal interview.
The interview will be conducted by a senior industry leader.
This phase will be conducted at pre-determined cities across the country, based on where
the CEO panel resides.
An email /SMS will be sent to you informing you of the time, date and venue of the interview.
We request you to be at the venue at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time of
interview.
Participants will be required to submit relevant documentation as and when requested during
the relevant phases of the program..
There will be a score-based shortlisting and qualified participants will move to the next round.
How will participants be assessed through the course of the program?
There are 9 leadership competencies that have been selected basis inputs from our panel of
CEOs and CEB's assessment framework. These leadership competencies have been
arrived at keeping in mind the age group of the participants (26 to 32 years).

What are the important information areas regarding the tests and assessments?
The tests and assessments are only for individuals, and not teams.
Online tests which are based on personality do not have any right or wrong answers. The
verbal & numerical tests will by their very nature have an answer which is right or wrong.
here is no negative marking in any of the phases. However, in the case of online tests,
scores will improve with increased number of correctly answered questions.
There is no maximum or minimum cut-off. The top scorers in each phase will move forward

Answers once submitted cannot be changed.
In the event of a tie, all participants tied at that score will move to the next phase.Individual
scores at each phase will not be revealed. We will inform all participants that qualify to the
next phase.
Test Duration:
Phase 1: Online personality test: Not timed (Approx. time taken: 15 minutes)
Phase 2: Online skill check:
Verbal Ability Assessment – Timed - 19 minutes
Numerical Ability Assessment – Timed - 25 minutes
Personality Assessment - Not timed (Approx. time: 30 minutes)
Phase 3: On-ground group discussion: Approx. 4 hours
Phase 4: One-on-one interviews with CEOs: 30-45 minutes
What are the costs associated with the Program?
There is no cost for participating in The Economic Times Young Leaders program. However
at every phase in the program, you will be required to make your own travel and stay
arrangements, and pay for the same.
