Totalitarianism took hold in Germany, Italy, and Japan following World War 1. This form of government is centralized and dictatorial, requiring complete obedience to the state. In Germany, the Nazi party led by Adolf Hitler established a totalitarian regime from 1933-1945. Hitler promised economic prosperity and was able to remilitarize Germany in violation of the Treaty of Versailles. In Italy, the chaotic aftermath of World War 1 led to the rise of Benito Mussolini and his fascist party. Mussolini centralized power, banned opposition parties, and sought to control all aspects of public and private life, turning Italy into a totalitarian state.
Modernization theory posits that modernization is a phased, homogenizing process where less developed societies become more like developed Western societies over time. It views Western Europe and the United States as models of unmatched economic prosperity and stability. Modernization theory argues development requires Third World countries to adopt Western values. Though popular in the 1950s, it received criticism by the late 1960s for assuming development follows a single path and only considers the Western model as favored.

The painting portrays a landscape scene of a lake and river surrounded by grass. Upon closer examination, the grass contains varying shades of green and spots of pink, red, and yellow flowers. The lake has different tones of blue with ripples depicted in the river flowing towards the southeast. While the colors initially drew the viewer's attention, the sense of escape conveyed by the shadowy men and use of the landscape resonated with the viewer's own feelings at that time.

The document provides background information on India's economy and discusses several factors that have contributed to its growth in recent times. It notes that India has experienced high economic growth of over 8% annually, making it the second fastest growing major economy in the world. This growth is driven by factors such as a large young population, increasing integration in the global economy through foreign trade, and reforms that have opened the economy and developed industries like information technology. However, poverty remains an issue for many in India due to its large population size and other socioeconomic challenges.
This document discusses health literacy and defines it as the degree to which individuals can obtain, process, and understand basic health information needed to make appropriate healthcare decisions. Only 12% of adults in the U.S. have proficient health literacy, meaning nine out of ten adults may lack the skills to manage their health. Poor health literacy is estimated to waste $35-73 billion annually due to prolonged hospital stays and frequent doctor visits. Improving health education from kindergarten through college is presented as a long-term solution to address this costly societal problem.

The document discusses three readings related to developing reading competence in students. Shanahan argues that teaching methods should vary by discipline. Taylor et al. found that repeatedly testing students on the same topic reduces interest and learning. Both articles suggest schools need to help teachers be better prepared to meet the needs of struggling students, particularly in underserved urban areas. Approaches are needed that engage students through higher-order thinking rather than repetitive testing.
The document is a draft of a memoir essay describing a family trip to Disneyland that did not go as expected. In the morning, the writer's mother was grumpy and stressed before they set off. 1. Essay on Me Myself and Personality Traits
Me Myself and Personality Traits When asked to describe myself I never know what to say, but I
should know myself the best, right? I like to look at myself as a genuine, thoughtful young lady.
I'm a hard worker; I believe nothing is ever handed to you so you have to go get it. I worked hard to
get to this point of my life and working even harder to get to the successful and graduate part of
my life. I care more for some others than I do myself but I have a huge nonchalant attitude. I don't
really show anger or sadness much I always smile because I'm optimistic about life. I look at life as
if something bad comes along, no need to dwell on it you can't take it back so just move–on and
improve what you did wrong if it's possible....show more content...
I was taught to be caring and thoughtful; I wasn't taught anything else from anyone other than not to
trust people. I'm the odd ball of my family because I am nothing like anyone. I can say I was also
taught to believe in myself and never down myself because I can accomplish anything. That is
shown through my determination and hard work because if I didn't believe in myself I wouldn't try
as hard. Last but not all, Humanistic approach sums up my personality a little more than
psychodynamic does because it involves nature vs. nurture and that kind of sums it up just saying
that. Environment and Heredity is kind of the main reasons of my attitudes and actions. In the
article, Time–Limited Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Briggs conducts different forms of
psychotherapy techniques to prove whether things in an adolescent's life effect different adolescents
differently. His study was a success and proved that many adolescents have different interpretations
on the same issue. He read them off different problems and wanted to see how they would interpret
them. He used children in the age groups of 12–17 and it worked out. I think that the different
approaches can be brought together in some circumstances but in my case it doesn't. My personality
makes more sense coming from the humanistic approach. Briggs, Stephen (2010). Time–Limited

2. Essay on personality
How would Freud explain the personality differences between Mike and Marty Scanlon?
According to Freud, the mind can be divided into two main parts:
The conscious mind includes everything that we are aware of. This is the aspect of our mental
processing that we can think and talk about rationally. A part of this includes our memory, which is
not always part of consciousness but can be retrieved easily at any time and brought into our
awareness. Freud called this ordinary memory the preconscious.
The unconscious mind is a reservoir of feelings, thoughts, urges, and memories that outside of our
conscious awareness. Most of the contents of the unconscious are unacceptable or unpleasant, such
as feelings of pain, anxiety, or...show more content...
Neuroticism is the tendency to experience negative emotions, such as anger, anxiety, or depression. It
is sometimes called emotional instability, or is reversed and referred to as emotional stability.
3. Given that Mike and Marty Scanlon are twins and share some of their genetic makeup, how would
you explain the pronounced differences in their personalities?
What role, if any, does temperament seem to be playing? . Temperament plays a major part in the
differences in Mike and Marty's personalities. Temperament is quite consistent with significant
stability from infancy well into adolescence. It is clear that certain personality traits have substantial
genetic components, and that heredity and environment interact to determine personality. They are
generally stable but can be modified by experience. Cross– cultural differences in temperament may
reflect childraising practices. A mother's depression, especially if severe or chronic, may have
serious consequences for her infant's development. Separation anxiety and stranger anxiety may
arise during the second half of the first year and appear to be related to temperament and
circumstances. 4. Which of the two brothers seems more likely to be achieving self–actualization,
and why do you think so? .
Marty would be achieving self actualization a state of

3. Personal Characteristics Essay
There are many personal characteristics that can affect a person as an individual and his
professional success, namely openness, ability to learn and adapt etc. These personal
characteristics can sometimes make a person successful and sometimes doesn't. As I spend more
and more time as a professional, I perceive that there are few characteristics that are essential for
professional success: namely ambitious, creative and adaptable. These characteristics come out in
many different ways. Have you set your goals? Have you decided the path you have to take to
pursue your goal? What are the sacrifices you can do to achieve your ambition? How much can
you think out of the box to resolve a particular issue or bring new idea to the table? How...show more

This characteristic will motivate me to grow better in my future career as well. I believe that few
people have a strong inner feeling that pushes them to think out of the box to identify as issue and
find the solution. Personally, I always try to find the most creative solution and do not give up until
I get it. Sometime this energy is contagious on to next. I always search for the missing links and
fine–tune my thoughts until I reach a point that works. This creativity has steadily driven my
ambitions through the organization. Today the world is changing so rapidly and the way it has
changed in last few decades, it hasn't changed in last few hundred years. So adaptability has become
the need of the hour. I believe that adaptability is the most important quality of all, particularly if one
is in technology industry. There have been times when this adaptability has changed the
nomenclature of day and night but it has also given me rewards at the appropriate times.
Adaptability, personally, has created a far–reaching international outlook and I was able to spend
time, living outside my country of origin, working for UK retails giants and this stay not only
diversified my work experience but also my cultural experience. It has improved my exposure to
diverse situations with increasing levels of complexity and this exposure has increased my
eagerness for new challenges. It has instigated a feeling in me that there

4. Essay on Personality in the Workplace
An individual's personality is the basis of who they are and generates how they react to and behave
in different situations. Personality testing is used in workplaces to identify whom to hire, promote
and even put into teams. Personality testing is efficient in being able to determine which employees
will perform best in certain roles, and this can remove some stress from employers. Personal testing
has been shown to help improve the quality of employees who are in the workplace. The method of
assessing personalities that will be examined in this essay is the Big Five taxonomy method. The
two main questionnaires, which are used to determine these traits, are the Sixteen Personality Factor
(16PF) Questionnaire and the NEO personality test....show more content...

personality testing is to differentiate groups of people who share a similar structure of knowledge
and behaviours, and to recognise patterns of behaviour in groups while still maintaining the
wholeness of the individual (Allinson, Sutton, & Williams, 2013, p. 234). The most widely
accepted and used method of assessing personalities is the Big Five taxonomy. The Big Five
taxonomy method is described as "a well–defined measurement model for assessing personality
across five broad dimensions" (Higgins, Lee, Peterson, & Robert, 2007, p. 300). The five
dimensions of personality traits that the Big Five uses are extraversion, agreeableness,
conscientiousness, neuroticism and openness (Mak, & Vearing, 2007, p. 1745). Each of these
personality traits is considered to be a substantially reliable measurement model cross–culturally and
across the life span also (Higgins, Lee, Peterson, & Robert, 2007, p. 300). Looking at the traits
individually, they all focus on an entirely different aspect of personalities, yet are considered the
most relevant personality traits for the workplace. It is believed extraverted individuals often look to
engage in challenge appraisal in particularly stressful situations and also tend to adopt and approach
orientation (Huang, Palmer,

5. Essay On Character Traits
There are many character traits that make someone successful in life. Some traits you are born with,
other traits are mindsets. There are a few character traits that coaches, teachers, bosses, or any other
significant figure looks for in particular. One of the most important character traits is a hard–working
attitude. You aren't born with a hard–working attitude. It is a mindset. You may not be the best
employee, but an employer will be more willing to work with someone that works hard than
someone that can do the job but is lazy. Although I am not the best at everything, I give 100%
effort in everything that I do and believe that working hard is the most important trait a person can
possess. As a child, the phrase, "Do your best," was...show more content...
I knew that in order to be starting, I needed to be the hardest worker on the team. With all my hard
work came a starting position. The biggest lesson that my father taught me was in seventh grade.
It was a normal day of basketball practice and we were scrimmaging. During a particular play, I
ran the wrong route. He made me run around the gym for forgetting what to do. I decided that I
was too tired to sprint around the gym. Because of my decision, he chose to kick me out of
practice. I knew at that point that I could take no breaks. While I was taking breaks, other people
were getting better. Chances to improve were very slim, so I needed to take advantage of them
whenever possible. Although this was a very inconvenient way for me to learn this lesson, he
definitely got his point across and I now work hard every chance that I get. Everyone wants to
have a successful career. The first step to a successful career is to obtain the job that you want.
Obviously you need the education level for this occupation, but what else is going to give you a leg
up on the competition? As a Sophomore in high school, I had the opportunity to job shadow a
manager of engineers at an engineering firm. One of his responsibilities was going through the

6. Essay on The Trait Theory of Personality
The study of personality traits is beneficial in identifying the many variables that exist from human
to human; the combinations of these variables provide us with a true level of individuality and
uniqueness. In the field of psychology, trait theory is considered to be a key approach to the study
of human personality (Crowne, 2007; Burton, Westen & Kowalski, 2009). This paper aims to
identify a number of significant contributors who have played crucial roles in both the development

Cardinal traits were rare and included traits that dominated a person, central traits were more
general and descriptive of the individual, secondary traits were situational and related to an
individual's attitude and preference (Srivastava, 2005, p. 231). According to Buchanan (2010),
German born psychologist Hans Eysenck devoted much of his career to both personality and
intelligence research with much of this time spent in British universities. According to Haggbloom
(2002), Eysenck's research was thoroughly respected with him being the most regularly cited
psychologist in science journals at the time of his passing. In 1947 Eysenck's first book outlined
what Eysenck viewed as the two central factors of personality; neuroticism and introversion
/extraversion. Five years later Eysenck added another factor; psychoticism (Buchanan, 2010, p.
73). According to Carnivez & Allen (2005), British born psychologist Raymond Cattell centred his
studies on factor analysis. His work observed him meticulously reduce Allport's list of traits to less
than two hundred. Applying his factor analysis knowledge, Cattell developed the 16PF
questionnaire in 1949. Now in its fifth edition, it is still in wide use to this day (Boyle, Matthews &
Saklofske, 2008). According to Tucker (2009), Cattell argued that while Eysenck's three factor
approach to personality was simpler, his own method was more thorough.
