Personal Goals : My Professional Goals
1.A summary of my professional & personal goals as well as your motivation for pursuing a degree:
My professional goals were never clear until this last year when I started my job with Marion
Construction Company as an office manager. I truly feel I have found a career path that I was
meant to be in and I want to be the best at it and that is why I feel that getting my masters is so
important. I would love to be an HR manager or HR educator in the future and by having my
masters in HR that will open those paths for me! Personal goal wise I want to be able to support
my future family and having that level education will get me into a pay structure that makes that
possible. I come from a family where not many people have been fortunate...show more content...
During my undergrad you can see I had a rough first term and bounced between B's and C's while at
the University of Oregon. School has always been hard for me and I really have to apply myself and
utilize all my learning resources in order to do well in most classes. While I did earn my bachelor's
degree I definitely did not make it an easy road for myself as social activities, sports and lack of
motivation really got in my way. I never had a "dream job" in mind and I never really knew what I
was going to do with my degree so I went through the motions and did the bare minimum in order to
receive my degree. Now I am in a career field I LOVE and I can truly see myself in for many years
and I have a motivation to learn like I have never had before.
4.What are your strengths & challenges as a learner and how will you address your challenges?
My organizational skills is one of my biggest strengths as a learner, I am a visual person when it
comes to learning and remembering things. I am very big on flash cards, color coordinating my
notes and highlighting topics I may not understand as well. Where learning is a struggle for me is
that I just can't read something once and it saves into my memory. I really have to read things a
few times and process is it in a way that makes sense in my brain. I get major test anxiety even when
I know the material and during my undergrad I found that sitting down with my professor before
exams and talking through the subjects

I view success as being able to achieve one's personal goals in all aspects of life. The missing link
for me is the completion of my degree, which brings me to Tiffin University. After graduating High
School in 1975, I continued my education at Upper Bucks School of Nursing. I passed the State
Boards and became a LPN in the state of Pennsylvania. While I was attending nursing school I was
approached by my supervisor to enter the management program at Friendly Ice Cream. He felt
that my strong leadership skills would lead to a highly successful career. At that time nursing did
not pay very well and I also became engaged. I decided to enter the one year management training
program shortly after our wedding. My husband was completing his undergraduate while I was in
training. After completion of training I became the General Manager of a location near our home. I
enjoyed every aspect of my position and was pleased with my decision to change career paths. After
my husband completed school we decided to move to Houston, Texas for a warmer climate and the

brought up closer to family. We relocated to Florida near my husband's family. My career continued
to advance through hard work and dedication. I received several promotions and relocated several
times. During that time frame I also continued my education whenever possible at local

My Personal Goals Essay
As a child and even as a teenager one tends to make dreams and set goals for life. On occasion these
goals are far stretched and sometimes even fairy–tale like, we tend to see life through a rose–colored
glass, not taking into account the many sidetracks life throws our way. At that stage in life our goals
tend to be less focused and somewhat unreachable. However, the process of growing up, or
maturing, tends organized and center our goals, we learn to make compromises and set goals for
our goals. There are different types of goals, short term and long term. I have learned to separate the
many goals I have into three main categories: family, professional and personal.
First, my family goals include how I see myself and how I see my...show more content...
I have planned monthly individual date nights with my children, so that they can have my undivided
attention for a certain period of time.
The second family short term goal takes into account my marriage. In order to raise happy and
healthy children, a happy and healthy relationship with one's spouse is paramount. In order to
achieve this goal my husband and I have decided to also dedicate more time for the two of us. For
the next year we have made an agreement to take at least one vacation together, so that we may
increase the bond that brought us together. We have also decided that for the next three year we
will spend Holidays as a family so that we may create our own family traditions, we will do
whatever is in our power to spend Holidays together, that includes not working or making other plans
with the rest of our immediate families.
On many occasions my personal goals have come before my professional aspirations. A career in
the medical field has always been something I have looked forward to. As a child I wanted and
dreamed of being a doctor, however due to the choices I made in life and the priorities that I had
not thought of, I have come to realize that my childhood dream may not come true. Yet, I was
able to compromise and make short and long term goals that will lead me into a career in the
medical field. My long term goal is to enter the medical field world and be a respected contributor
to it. I want to be able to help others in the time of need. In

As I struggle threw another ten minutes on the treadmill, I'm reminded at how unnecessary that

be okay to go lift weights after this. At least I'm in the gym and you have to applaud yourself on

As I sweated out three years worth of hard living–smoking, drinking, fast–food– I thought some
slight modifications were in order. Giving up smoking was the first on my list. That first two
weeks I went threw at least twenty packs of gum. I realized that smoking was more that some oral
or chemical addiction, it was my way of "taking a break". Whenever I was tired or angry or
stressed out I'd always turn to my pack of sticks to give me the answers. Of course they didn't
reveal any truths and all I got was a bad cough. Finishing my first race was such a thrill. It was a
competition between my body and mind with no one else. Changing my lifestyle has definitely
made it easier to focus on attaining my bachelor's degree and what exactly it is I want to do with
it. When I was a small girl I always wanted to be a veterinarian. I had no idea what the entailed but I
knew I like animals and I wanted to help fix them. Fast forward ten years and I'm sitting in my
counselors' office senior year and I'm being asked the same question I've always pondered, "What do
I want to be when I grow up?" This time the answer is psychologist. Still want to help fix people
but no gory insides to look at. In the real world, though, having a bachelor in psychology doesn't
get you very far. So with a major in social work and minor in psych I think my chances of finding a
job are much higher. I'm not positive if social work is exactly what is in my cards but the job

Venus Williams, a professional tennis player, once said "I do not focus on what I am up against. I
focus on my goals and I will try to ignore the rest", and I couldn't agree more because goals are very
important. Goals are important to me because I can work harder when I want to success. I want to
try to not listen to what people say, and believe in myself. Thus, this year I have an academic goal
which is getting good grades, a personal goal which is to get better at soccer, and a relationship goal
which is to build a better relationship with my siblings. First of all, this year my academic goal I
hope to achieve is getting good grades this year. One way I am going to get good grades is by
studying more. I will make my own flashcards to study will them. I will try to study in advance so I
do not have to study everything in one day. Maybe I can even make a pre–assignment to see what I
already know or what I need help on. This will help me reach this goal because if I make my own
flashcards I know I will study off them. Another way I am going to reach my goal is by asking for
help if I need it. For example, when I am confused I can start asking questions in class so I know
what we are talking about in class. I will also meet up before or after school so I can get the extra
help I need it. If I am ever stuck, I can check with myself if I need help on a specific topic. This will
help me reach my goal. Finally, I will stay organized and pay attention in class to reach my goal.

Personal Essay: My Goals In Life
Everyone around the world what's to be successful at what they want to become. Whether it's helping
people with their health money or to entertain them. Personally, I want to help people, without the
financial knowledge, to make the best decision they could ever make to impact their lives in a
positive way. I want to do this people not everyone in the world wants to create a positive,
heartwarming experience for the people and instead only care about money. I want to be that
person that people can trust with big decisions in their life in order to create positivity to anyone I

money that I will save up from my career. My academic goal in life is to graduate Valencia by the
end of spring of 2018 by following and accomplishing my scheduled plan. Last but not least, my
career goal in life would be to work in a bank in the next 5 years by getting my degree.
My personal goal in life is to own my own company in real estate by the next 20 years with the

Essay on Happiness Is My Ultimate Personal Goal
It is enormously difficult to sit down and write a personal goal that is concise and reflects who I
am and what I am working towards. Many goals that I have do not have a concise finish line. Others
that do have an ending point seem almost miniscule against the larger backdrop of my life.
Some broader goals that I have are to never let my life stagnate, constantly be learning, live happy,
and to empathize with everyone I can. I have more than just these goals, but many other goals can
fall under or fit within these previous four goals. In fact, these four goals fit within each other. For
example, it may be my goal to empathize with other people so that I can learn something new from
their perspective. In learning something new my life...show more content...
This is a huge reason as to why I have chosen Materials Engineering as my major. On this planet
we have a limited amount of resources and we need scientists and engineers to be able to work
together with policy makers and the public to figure out solutions that are sustainable. One
particular interest that I would like to be able to work on sometime in my life is making consumer
electronic products more recyclable. Another field I find interesting is designing polymeric
materials that can be made from industrial or agricultural waste and will biodegrade so that we have
less plastic siting in landfills and filling up dumps.
My reasons as to why I am applying to the NASA LARSS Program are greatly related to the goals I
have previously mentioned. I believe that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration is a
fantastic organization with many talented and brilliant people working for it. There are a lot of very
unique material challenges when it comes to flight and space travel. For example Jet engines must
operate at extraordinarily hot temperatures to booster efficiency. But in this extreme environment
many materials would exhibit different and probably less desirable properties than at lower
temperatures. It is the job of the materials scientist to develop new materials and engineer current
ones so that these jet engines can perform reducing overall cost and consumption. Between engines,
heat shields, whipple shields, to even what

SMART Goals for Yourself Essays
One of the best ways to follow a successful path is to set goals for yourself. They are important to
keep yourself on task and to get to a desired point of self fulfillment. The issue can be how to
achieve goals in a successful manner. The issue is "Although people may desire or intend to attain
some outcome, they are not committed to that as a goal until they are willing to invest affect,
cognition, and behavior in attaining it" (Traci Mann, 2013). This is why it is important to have a
set path on how to accomplish important goals. I have chosen three goals that I want to accomplish
to demonstrate a Process known as SMART, to help accomplish them. There goals are that I want to
finally earn a college degree(personal), I want to make it...show more content...
Last comes time bound. For this particular goal, my time frame is the amount of time it takes in
order to complete the next 6 classes. This is enough time for me to see if I really can accomplish
my goal, as well as how long it will take in order for me to fulfill the requirements in order to make
it into the Honor Society. After the 6 months, I will then evaluate and Re–Do this goal throughout
my college career, and be using the SMARTER method. This same process can be applied to my
personal goal of finally obtaining a college degree. To me, this is a very important goal.
Accomplishing this goal will allow me to prove to myself that I can earn a degree and that I can
even work my way up to a doctorate, like I hope to do someday. By applying the SMART process to
this goal, I have specified it to earning my associates degree. I will know that this goal is
accomplished by finishing all the requirements of earning an associate's degree, in my chosen
field. This goal is achievable because I know I have to intelligence and the desire to accomplish
it. It is also realistic because it is a 2 year degree and I am at a point where I can fully dedicate
myself to the goal, for this amount of time. I have given myself the traditional 2 years to finish
earning this degree. This is another goal that I actually plan on using the SMARTER process, so I
can continue to earn higher degrees, up until I earn my PhD. Both of the goals that I have

An obvious goal as a working adult returning to school is, of course, to earn a degree. My overall

my current business abilities, to apply what I learn in the classroom to forward my career, and to

By just going through the motions of coming to work everyday, only getting done what has to be

turn into a mundane professional life. At the same time, if a person does all of these things, but
shows a bit of initiative to gain more knowledge of the job, they may see an opportunity to
slightly move up in the company. The latter is my situation. My experience and knowledge of my
department and its systems have afforded me the opportunity to move up within the department
over the past five years, but I'm beginning to see a limit of how far those skills alone will allow
me to climb. Being an expert in my field of pharmaceutical benefits doesn't translate into managing
personnel just as knowing how to complete a task doesn't mean I'm able to give a clear
presentation on how it should be done. Sure, I've been rewarded for the work I've done and
knowledge I've obtained, but at some point, my employer will eventually see that more is needed to
continue to promote me to higher, more management focused positions. My goal is to complete these
courses and obtain my degree to prove that, if the situation arises, I can be the right person for the
job. A more personal goal of mine is to finish what I've started. After high school,

Personal and Professional Goals Over the last couple of years I have been contemplating over the

The long–term milestone would be to become a CRNA and retire as a successful professional in
30 years. The effort made over the next few years will give my family and myself a much better
life later on. Of course no milestone can be achieved without encountering barriers along the way.
The only barrier that might posses a problem would be not to be able to balance work and school
in the same time. In order for me to be able to pay for school without the use of any loans, would
be to work full time hours. Partial tuition reimbursement and having a flexible schedule, as well as
my ability to adapt to situations will help me minimize this aspect, and help me succeed in reaching
my goals. It is difficult enough to manage time while being a student, however, it is more
challenging when being a working student. My goal is to finish the program in the shortest time,
paying the least amount of money and get accepted into the CRNA program. I am recognizing the
need to become more organized, and learn how to set up priorities in order to manage my time
more effectively; school should be first on the list followed by family and work. From my past
experiences I have learned it is important to plan for the unexpected. Often, things that are not
expected come up; therefore, it is important to leave some room in my calendar

Personal Goals : Goals And Goals
Life is all about choices, what do you want to eat, who do you want to hang out with and where do
you want to attend college? These choices shape and create who we are. However, as important as
choices are they do not guide us. The goals we set for ourselves are our guides. Goals can determine
whether a person succeeds or fails (Hyatt). Goals give us a sense of direction, a sense of self worth
and a sense of excitement (Locke & Lathem 2002). In my classroom I ask students to create goals
every year. I ask them for two academic goals and one personal goal. I enjoy doing this activity
because it gives my students guidance and something to shoot for. I create goals in every aspect
of my life. Some of my goals include professional goals with coaching and teaching, some goals are
personal goals and lastly some are goals are family related. Throughout this paper I will be talking
about goals. This paper will discuss advantages of goal, S.M.A.R.T. goals and types of goals.
There are many benefits for setting goals for yourself or the company you manage. Through this
next paragraph we will be talking about the four main benefits of goal setting. The first benefit is
goal setting makes you self–aware (Benefits of Goal Setting). When a person becomes self–aware
they know their strengths and their weaknesses. When a person knows their strengths and
weaknesses they can chose the strategies and steps they want to take to achieve the goal they set.
The second benefit of goal setting is

Choosing a career in medicine is my first career choice, and in many ways it is the only career
choice I want. From professional athletes that we see on television, to the educators that have

profession. I see myself following in the same footsteps, but as a pediatrician. I want to also

Naturally, my eagerness to learn came about at a very young age. I always wanted to know how the
human body worked. Growing up in the age of YouTube, I often poured over countless hours of
videos learning simple concepts that I could easily understand at that time. As I grew I was always
looking to learn something new. Finally, in high school I took advantage of College Now, a
program where students in high school had access to college classes on a college campus while
receiving college credits. While I was there, I earned a Certificate in Computer Science from
CUNY Queens College. This eagerness to learn came about of a very simple reason. My parents
had high aspirations for me since no one on either side of their families had ever gone beyond a

As with most people engaged in this class, I have contemplated the question: what do I want to
accomplish with my life? This intricate question burdens many people, not just those of us that have

career path will lead them to a comfortable life with financial stability. My most obvious goal and
reason for enrolling in University of Phoenix is like every other student: to complete this program

some of the learnt items miniscule, I know that ultimately they influence my life and the decisions I
make.
I have been employed in the hospitality industry for almost 20 years. While engaging, it has become
somewhat of a complacent, day–to–day routine. My original goal was to find a vehicle to move me
into an alternative direction. In some of my past jobs I had always excelled when it came to
numbers so accounting positions came naturally for me. The dilemma, however, was that my
personality conflicted with the facet of accounting positions that required being stuck behind a desk
and pressing out spreadsheets. I found that although I was an individual that uniquely enjoyed
accounting I also enjoyed the ability to be in the driver's seat and guide the operations of a
business. For that reason, the natural aspiration that soon developed was the goal of operating my
own business. Since accomplishing this goal, I now have an established practice that provides
financial statement preparation and accounting services to small organizations. While I have the

going to get there, honestly, I didn't know. If my reality was lined up to my expectations and dreams

Reflecting on my personal and professional goals, I will never be satisfied. A fire burns deep inside

Essay on Goal Setting
Goal Setting In the first article that I found It stated that Goal Setting is a formal process for
personal planning, and is a form of motivation. It is used for a target that a person works for so
they can be successful. The process of goal setting is used by many people throughout the world that
are trying to and have already achieved something in their lifetime.
Setting goals helps a person remain focused on being successful, stay away from distractions, and
will help with motivation. There are two types of goal setting:
Long–term, and Short–term goals. Short–term goals are smaller goals that are "easier" to achieve,
and will keep the person motivated and continue to strive for success. They also are goals that lead

Also, after achieving a goal, you must look back and ask yourself if the goal was too easy for you to
achieve, if you learned something while trying to achieve the goal, and if you need to fix any of

If you do not achieve your goals, then this does not mean that you are a failure as long as you learn
something from your mistakes. You must find where you made your mistakes and then fix them.
Some of the Key Points for goal setting is Deciding what is important for you to achieve in your life,
separating what is important from what is irrelevant, motivating yourself to achievement, and
building your self–confidence based on measured achievement of goals.
In the second article that I found, it stated that Goal Setting is a very powerful technique that can
yield strong returns in all areas of your life. Setting goals allows you to decide what you want to do
with your life.
This article reiterates the previous article and states "Goal Setting Helps
Self–confidence". "By setting goals, and measuring their achievement, you are able to see what you
have done and what you are capable of. The process of achieving goals and seeing their achievement
gives you the confidence and self–belief that you need that you will be able to achieve higher and

college she wanted to without even trying. On the other hand, I grew up in a one–parent household
that never had a lot of money. My mom had to keep three jobs in order to provide the necessities
for us. My mom emigrated from Hungary with limited resources. She could speak no English and
barley had any money. She was willing to do what ever it took to give us a decent life style. We
did not go out to restaurants often and she would always try to save money by limiting extra
expenses. Within a short period of time we were considered middle class average family. I was taught
early on the value hard work. The values that were installed in me were very different then Sarah.
I was always taught that hard work and dedication would pay off. Sarah was thought that she
never had to do anything to receive the good things out of life. We have kept in touch over the
years, and the part of me that used to be jealous was now thankful for not having everything
handed to me. I have worked hard to get the job I have wanted, have a place of my own, a nice car,
and extra money. Sarah still has to rely on her family to help with the bills, and can't hold a job
down. To strive for a certain goal and not to lose interest or motivation is the name of the game for
this century. Only then, the desirable state

Reflection on Personal Goal for School Essay
For this semester, I have set three goals that I will be working towards to make improvements on.
The first goal I set is to start an assignment the day that it is assigned so that I do not procrastinate.
The second goal I have set for this semester is to be more organized with my materials. The last goal
for this semester is to relieve my stress in a positive way. By working on these goals during the next
couple of weeks, it will make my life a little less stressful.
The first goal I need to work on is doing assignments ahead of time. I always wait until the last
minute to do assignments and then everything gets piled up. When I have a lot of things that I need
to do in one day I get very stressed and nothing good comes from this. If I...show more content...
In the future organization will be key because I will have to keep track of not only the materials I
need to teach but also the materials and papers that my students hand in. By getting organized
now it will give me practice on how I can organize my materials for my classroom. If I do not start
getting organized then I will never learn how to organize things and it will be a lot harder to keep
track of everything once I get into my own classroom.
The last goal I have is to relieve my stress in a positive way. In the past, I have always kept my
stress to myself and never really got rid of it. I would keep it bottled up and then eventually I
would have a break down and cry. If I don't start working on this now, then in the future holding in
my stress could result in me yelling or getting upset with my students for little things. I plan on
going to the gym every day for at least an hour. This will help burn off the stress hormones that I
have and take my mind off of everything for a little while. When I feel myself getting stressed, I
can stop for a minute and just take a couple of deep breaths. This will help me during the day when I
need a break. By starting this now I will get in a good habit of relieving my stress.
The goal that is most important to me would be relieving my stress in a positive way. This is really
important to me because stress can have a lot of negative impacts on my health if I do not get rid of
it. If I do not find a way

Out of the three goals, (Personal, educational, and professional) I chose two of the goals that I am
focusing on and that is my personal and educational goals. For my personal goals, I want to create
a big picture of what I plan to do in life. Then I want to break them down in order to reach my
goals, then once I have them together, then I would start working on them to achieve them. For
example(Specific and Measurable goals), I plan on finding a job that has great benefits and the best
rate of pay, and one that does not require working on weekends(Monday–Friday only), and not
working overtime....show more content...
I plan on earning my Master's Degree within a year of Graduation. While I am currently in school, I
will rely on my instructors, academic counselors, graduation team, the GCU Online Library, and the
school's other resources that will give me additional help when I need them. If I feel lost or a subject
seems too difficult, then I will ask e–mail my instructors and let he or she know that I am having
difficulty and that I need help. If I am feeling overwhelmed about school, I will seek the help and
advice of my academic counselor to help me come up with a solution to help me feel relaxed and not
stressed with taking online classes. I know that I will be successful if I always ask and seek help
here at GCU.
After all of this being said, I believe that I am a D1 in the development level, which is "The
Enthusiastic Beginner" (Low Competence/High Commitment). I would be enthusiastic and be
highly committed to doing my job if I were to have a certain position or even as a student in
school on certain levels in my program, but at the same time, I would and still do not yet know
all of the ropes yet. Right now I consider myself a very curious, inexperienced person who does
quite have the skills required for the job in hand or the things that I have learned in school so far,
but I am yet hopeful that I will learn to develop and learn more and more skills in the near future.

Essay On Personal Goals

  • 1. Personal Goals : My Professional Goals 1.A summary of my professional & personal goals as well as your motivation for pursuing a degree: My professional goals were never clear until this last year when I started my job with Marion Construction Company as an office manager. I truly feel I have found a career path that I was meant to be in and I want to be the best at it and that is why I feel that getting my masters is so important. I would love to be an HR manager or HR educator in the future and by having my masters in HR that will open those paths for me! Personal goal wise I want to be able to support my future family and having that level education will get me into a pay structure that makes that possible. I come from a family where not many people have been fortunate...show more content... During my undergrad you can see I had a rough first term and bounced between B's and C's while at the University of Oregon. School has always been hard for me and I really have to apply myself and utilize all my learning resources in order to do well in most classes. While I did earn my bachelor's degree I definitely did not make it an easy road for myself as social activities, sports and lack of motivation really got in my way. I never had a "dream job" in mind and I never really knew what I was going to do with my degree so I went through the motions and did the bare minimum in order to receive my degree. Now I am in a career field I LOVE and I can truly see myself in for many years and I have a motivation to learn like I have never had before. 4.What are your strengths & challenges as a learner and how will you address your challenges? My organizational skills is one of my biggest strengths as a learner, I am a visual person when it comes to learning and remembering things. I am very big on flash cards, color coordinating my notes and highlighting topics I may not understand as well. Where learning is a struggle for me is that I just can't read something once and it saves into my memory. I really have to read things a few times and process is it in a way that makes sense in my brain. I get major test anxiety even when I know the material and during my undergrad I found that sitting down with my professor before exams and talking through the subjects Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. College Essay On Personal Goals I view success as being able to achieve one's personal goals in all aspects of life. The missing link for me is the completion of my degree, which brings me to Tiffin University. After graduating High School in 1975, I continued my education at Upper Bucks School of Nursing. I passed the State Boards and became a LPN in the state of Pennsylvania. While I was attending nursing school I was approached by my supervisor to enter the management program at Friendly Ice Cream. He felt that my strong leadership skills would lead to a highly successful career. At that time nursing did not pay very well and I also became engaged. I decided to enter the one year management training program shortly after our wedding. My husband was completing his undergraduate while I was in training. After completion of training I became the General Manager of a location near our home. I enjoyed every aspect of my position and was pleased with my decision to change career paths. After my husband completed school we decided to move to Houston, Texas for a warmer climate and the goal of my husband attending Law School there....show more content... Two months before my first child was born my mother passed from cancer at the young age of 49. I went back to work, realizing that I needed to continue to advance my career to support our family. After three years in Houston we made the decision it was best for our daughter to be brought up closer to family. We relocated to Florida near my husband's family. My career continued to advance through hard work and dedication. I received several promotions and relocated several times. • 3. My Personal Goals Essay As a child and even as a teenager one tends to make dreams and set goals for life. On occasion these goals are far stretched and sometimes even fairy–tale like, we tend to see life through a rose–colored glass, not taking into account the many sidetracks life throws our way. At that stage in life our goals tend to be less focused and somewhat unreachable. However, the process of growing up, or maturing, tends organized and center our goals, we learn to make compromises and set goals for our goals. There are different types of goals, short term and long term. I have learned to separate the many goals I have into three main categories: family, professional and personal. First, my family goals include how I see myself and how I see my...show more content... I have planned monthly individual date nights with my children, so that they can have my undivided attention for a certain period of time. The second family short term goal takes into account my marriage. In order to raise happy and healthy children, a happy and healthy relationship with one's spouse is paramount. In order to achieve this goal my husband and I have decided to also dedicate more time for the two of us. For the next year we have made an agreement to take at least one vacation together, so that we may increase the bond that brought us together. We have also decided that for the next three year we will spend Holidays as a family so that we may create our own family traditions, we will do whatever is in our power to spend Holidays together, that includes not working or making other plans with the rest of our immediate families. On many occasions my personal goals have come before my professional aspirations. A career in the medical field has always been something I have looked forward to. As a child I wanted and dreamed of being a doctor, however due to the choices I made in life and the priorities that I had not thought of, I have come to realize that my childhood dream may not come true. Yet, I was able to compromise and make short and long term goals that will lead me into a career in the medical field. My long term goal is to enter the medical field world and be a respected contributor to it. I want to be able to help others in the time of need. In Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Or maybe if I had skipped out on the last round of shots last night I might be okay to go lift weights after this. At least I'm in the gym and you have to applaud yourself on small steps, right? Looking at my life a year ago and I have to say studying vocabulary words for anthropology or writing essays on the possible origins of World War I were not activities that I was motivated in participating in. Having watched my friends start to accomplish their dreams, I understand that action is the only cause for change. In every aspect of my life it has always been ideas never attainment and that is strictly my fault. In the...show more content... As I sweated out three years worth of hard living–smoking, drinking, fast–food– I thought some slight modifications were in order. Giving up smoking was the first on my list. That first two weeks I went threw at least twenty packs of gum. I realized that smoking was more that some oral or chemical addiction, it was my way of "taking a break". Whenever I was tired or angry or stressed out I'd always turn to my pack of sticks to give me the answers. Of course they didn't reveal any truths and all I got was a bad cough. Finishing my first race was such a thrill. It was a competition between my body and mind with no one else. Changing my lifestyle has definitely made it easier to focus on attaining my bachelor's degree and what exactly it is I want to do with it. When I was a small girl I always wanted to be a veterinarian. I had no idea what the entailed but I knew I like animals and I wanted to help fix them. Fast forward ten years and I'm sitting in my counselors' office senior year and I'm being asked the same question I've always pondered, "What do I want to be when I grow up?" This time the answer is psychologist. Still want to help fix people but no gory insides to look at. In the real world, though, having a bachelor in psychology doesn't get you very far. So with a major in social work and minor in psych I think my chances of finding a job are much higher. • 5. Venus Williams, a professional tennis player, once said "I do not focus on what I am up against. I focus on my goals and I will try to ignore the rest", and I couldn't agree more because goals are very important. Goals are important to me because I can work harder when I want to success. I want to try to not listen to what people say, and believe in myself. Thus, this year I have an academic goal which is getting good grades, a personal goal which is to get better at soccer, and a relationship goal which is to build a better relationship with my siblings. First of all, this year my academic goal I hope to achieve is getting good grades this year. One way I am going to get good grades is by studying more. I will make my own flashcards to study will them. I will try to study in advance so I do not have to study everything in one day. Maybe I can even make a pre–assignment to see what I already know or what I need help on. This will help me reach this goal because if I make my own flashcards I know I will study off them. Another way I am going to reach my goal is by asking for help if I need it. For example, when I am confused I can start asking questions in class so I know what we are talking about in class. I will also meet up before or after school so I can get the extra help I need it. If I am ever stuck, I can check with myself if I need help on a specific topic. This will help me reach my goal. Finally, I will stay organized and pay attention in class to reach my goal. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Personally, I want to help people, without the financial knowledge, to make the best decision they could ever make to impact their lives in a positive way. I want to do this people not everyone in the world wants to create a positive, heartwarming experience for the people and instead only care about money. I want to be that person that people can trust with big decisions in their life in order to create positivity to anyone I help. My academic goal in life is to graduate Valencia by the end of spring of 2018 by following and accomplishing my scheduled plan. • 7. Essay on Happiness Is My Ultimate Personal Goal It is enormously difficult to sit down and write a personal goal that is concise and reflects who I am and what I am working towards. Many goals that I have do not have a concise finish line. Others that do have an ending point seem almost miniscule against the larger backdrop of my life. Some broader goals that I have are to never let my life stagnate, constantly be learning, live happy, and to empathize with everyone I can. I have more than just these goals, but many other goals can fall under or fit within these previous four goals. In fact, these four goals fit within each other. For example, it may be my goal to empathize with other people so that I can learn something new from their perspective. In learning something new my life...show more content... This is a huge reason as to why I have chosen Materials Engineering as my major. On this planet we have a limited amount of resources and we need scientists and engineers to be able to work together with policy makers and the public to figure out solutions that are sustainable. One particular interest that I would like to be able to work on sometime in my life is making consumer electronic products more recyclable. Another field I find interesting is designing polymeric materials that can be made from industrial or agricultural waste and will biodegrade so that we have less plastic siting in landfills and filling up dumps. My reasons as to why I am applying to the NASA LARSS Program are greatly related to the goals I have previously mentioned. I believe that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration is a fantastic organization with many talented and brilliant people working for it. There are a lot of very unique material challenges when it comes to flight and space travel. For example Jet engines must operate at extraordinarily hot temperatures to booster efficiency. But in this extreme environment many materials would exhibit different and probably less desirable properties than at lower temperatures. It is the job of the materials scientist to develop new materials and engineer current ones so that these jet engines can perform reducing overall cost and consumption. They are important to keep yourself on task and to get to a desired point of self fulfillment. The issue can be how to achieve goals in a successful manner. The issue is "Although people may desire or intend to attain some outcome, they are not committed to that as a goal until they are willing to invest affect, cognition, and behavior in attaining it" (Traci Mann, 2013). This is why it is important to have a set path on how to accomplish important goals. I have chosen three goals that I want to accomplish to demonstrate a Process known as SMART, to help accomplish them. There goals are that I want to finally earn a college degree(personal), I want to make it...show more content... Last comes time bound. For this particular goal, my time frame is the amount of time it takes in order to complete the next 6 classes. This is enough time for me to see if I really can accomplish my goal, as well as how long it will take in order for me to fulfill the requirements in order to make it into the Honor Society. After the 6 months, I will then evaluate and Re–Do this goal throughout my college career, and be using the SMARTER method. This same process can be applied to my personal goal of finally obtaining a college degree. To me, this is a very important goal. Accomplishing this goal will allow me to prove to myself that I can earn a degree and that I can even work my way up to a doctorate, like I hope to do someday. By applying the SMART process to this goal, I have specified it to earning my associates degree. I will know that this goal is accomplished by finishing all the requirements of earning an associate's degree, in my chosen field. This goal is achievable because I know I have to intelligence and the desire to accomplish it. It is also realistic because it is a 2 year degree and I am at a point where I can fully dedicate myself to the goal, for this amount of time. I have given myself the traditional 2 years to finish earning this degree. This is another goal that I actually plan on using the SMARTER process, so I can continue to earn higher degrees, up until I earn my PhD. • 9. My Personal Goals as a Student Essay My Personal Goals as a Student An obvious goal as a working adult returning to school is, of course, to earn a degree. My overall goal is no different than any other student, however, I also have several personal goals I hope to achieve while attending the University. Some of these goals are to acquire new skills and enhance my current business abilities, to apply what I learn in the classroom to forward my career, and to feel personal satisfaction of finishing something I started. Already having experience in the business world has proven to me that it is essential to have skills to maintain and improve daily functions. Three skills I'd personally like to improve on are my organizational, time management, and presentation...show more content... By just going through the motions of coming to work everyday, only getting done what has to be done, and going home at the end of the day, one might realize that an everyday routine can quickly turn into a mundane professional life. At the same time, if a person does all of these things, but shows a bit of initiative to gain more knowledge of the job, they may see an opportunity to slightly move up in the company. The latter is my situation. My experience and knowledge of my department and its systems have afforded me the opportunity to move up within the department over the past five years, but I'm beginning to see a limit of how far those skills alone will allow me to climb. Being an expert in my field of pharmaceutical benefits doesn't translate into managing personnel just as knowing how to complete a task doesn't mean I'm able to give a clear presentation on how it should be done. Sure, I've been rewarded for the work I've done and knowledge I've obtained, but at some point, my employer will eventually see that more is needed to continue to promote me to higher, more management focused positions. My goal is to complete these courses and obtain my degree to prove that, if the situation arises, I can be the right person for the job. A more personal goal of mine is to finish what I've started. That is way I decided to return to school in order to earn my BSN. The long–term milestone would be to become a CRNA and retire as a successful professional in 30 years. The effort made over the next few years will give my family and myself a much better life later on. Of course no milestone can be achieved without encountering barriers along the way. The only barrier that might posses a problem would be not to be able to balance work and school in the same time. In order for me to be able to pay for school without the use of any loans, would be to work full time hours. Partial tuition reimbursement and having a flexible schedule, as well as my ability to adapt to situations will help me minimize this aspect, and help me succeed in reaching my goals. It is difficult enough to manage time while being a student, however, it is more challenging when being a working student. My goal is to finish the program in the shortest time, paying the least amount of money and get accepted into the CRNA program. I am recognizing the need to become more organized, and learn how to set up priorities in order to manage my time more effectively; school should be first on the list followed by family and work. From my past experiences I have learned it is important to plan for the unexpected. Often, things that are not expected come up; therefore, it is important to leave some room in my calendar Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Personal Goals : Goals And Goals Life is all about choices, what do you want to eat, who do you want to hang out with and where do you want to attend college? These choices shape and create who we are. However, as important as choices are they do not guide us. The goals we set for ourselves are our guides. Goals can determine whether a person succeeds or fails (Hyatt). Goals give us a sense of direction, a sense of self worth and a sense of excitement (Locke & Lathem 2002). In my classroom I ask students to create goals every year. I ask them for two academic goals and one personal goal. I enjoy doing this activity because it gives my students guidance and something to shoot for. I create goals in every aspect of my life. Some of my goals include professional goals with coaching and teaching, some goals are personal goals and lastly some are goals are family related. While engaging, it has become somewhat of a complacent, day–to–day routine. My original goal was to find a vehicle to move me into an alternative direction. In some of my past jobs I had always excelled when it came to numbers so accounting positions came naturally for me. The dilemma, however, was that my personality conflicted with the facet of accounting positions that required being stuck behind a desk and pressing out spreadsheets. I found that although I was an individual that uniquely enjoyed accounting I also enjoyed the ability to be in the driver's seat and guide the operations of a business. For that reason, the natural aspiration that soon developed was the goal of operating my own business. Since accomplishing this goal, I now have an established practice that provides financial statement preparation and accounting services to small organizations. The last goal I have is to relieve my stress in a positive way. In the past, I have always kept my stress to myself and never really got rid of it. I would keep it bottled up and then eventually I would have a break down and cry. If I don't start working on this now, then in the future holding in my stress could result in me yelling or getting upset with my students for little things.
