The Crucible By John Proctor
In The Crucible, Abigail Williams, John Proctor, and Elizabeth Proctor are arguably the most important characters. The affair between Abigail and John drives the plot of the play. Abigail begins accusing societal outcasts as witches and gradually works her way up the social ladder until she is able to accuse an upstanding citizen like Elizabeth Proctor of being a witch and having people believe the accusation. She accused Elizabeth of being a witch so that Elizabeth would be hanged. Then, Abigail would have John Proctor all to herself. Abigail, while certainly diabolical and ruthless, is rather misrepresented. Abigail has received nothing but tragedy in her life; short, though it is at this point. Her parents are killed in front of her at a very young age and while there is not anyway you can take that in a sympathetic aspect, seeing as she uses it to convince the girls to do her bidding, it is very clear that this image has stuck with her. The Crucible paints John in the position of a tragic hero and then ineluctably places Abigail in the light of an antagonist with no hope of retribution. Once you commend John for his actions, you must implicate Abigail for hers. Simply stated, Abigail should not just be incriminated based on what information we are provided. Abigail, while still very much faulty in her actions, deserves to be examined at a deeper level to provide you with the full understanding of just why this woman s scorning was her breaking point.

Reflection On Cultural Awareness
Critical Reflection Essay
Introduction
An individual s culture refers to their personal ideas, customs, and social behaviour. It can be developed from aspects of their lives as well as individual experiences. Once these elements are understood this becomes a person s cultural awareness. Cultural awareness is vital as a foundation of communication and organisation between people of diverse cultures, this then develops into cultural intelligence. Cultural intelligence is understood as a person s capability to not only communicate but work and relate effectively in culturally diverse situations. Cultural self awareness is critically important in developing cultural intelligence this is because one must first understand themselves and their culture before they are able to learn and respect others. Global awareness of diversity has increased vastly with every new generation. This is due to many factors including growth, diversification, organization of cultures and building relationships.

Relationship Between Niece And Nephew
I was able to interview both my niece and nephew. I interviewed my nephew in the afternoon and my niece at night. They are both eight years and are in third grade at different schools. My nephew is Mexican American but he can speak a couple phrases in Spanish. My nephew s parents divorced three years ago. They have shared custody but since my older brother is in the army so he rarely sees my nephew. I have noticed how the divorce impacted him, I only see him once a month if I am lucky. He has never been babied, for instance, when he cries when his soccer team loses they do not comfort him. They want him to be independent. As for my niece she is Mexican American and only speaks a few words in Spanish. Her parents never married so they would be together for half a year and they would separate for the other half. They did this for six years and finally moved on with different people. They have shared custody as well she is with my third brother M, T, and W. I noticed that she would cry to sleep when her parents were doing that cycle. I told my brother my niece was suffering a lot and it is not healthy. 2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasnât one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Operation âBlue Starâ is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Essay On Pearl Harbor Attack
1. Essay On Pearl Harbor Attack
The day of the Pearl Harbor attack there were a total of 2,335 military personnel killed . The day of the attack happened on December 7, 1941 . The
Japanese aircraft struck the territory of Hawaii . Also in less than two hours they attacked the Hawaiian Air force . There were three types of
aircraft to attack Pearl Harbor that the Japanese used. The Japanese used aircraft, and dive bombers to attack. The attack ended that day December 7,
1941. Pearl Harbor had to use rocks, and pistols in defense in the attack . The Japanese were very successful in the attack because it was well planned,
and unexpected. The American position on World War II changed within a matter of hours because they were not ready for the attack. There were many

The Japanese had good types of bombs in the attack. They used a different variety of them. One of them is the type 91 model 2 torpedo 1,847 pounds.
Also type 99 model 5 ordinary (antiâship) bomb 1,765 pounds. The Japanese also used the type 98 land bomb 551 pounds, and the type 99 model
ordinary (antiâship) bomb 551 pounds. The type 91 2 torpedo did most ship damage. The type 99 (antiâship) bomb destroyed the Arizona. There were
some weapons Pearl Harbor used in the attack. Those who defended Pearl Harbor during the attack on December 7th, 1941 used everything that they
could get their hands such as rocks, and pistols. They used those things even though they did not have the range to be effective. Dorie Miller had 50

defending the Harbor. The Japanese were very successful during the attack. They were successful because the Japanese had done a good job of
training, and planning for this attack. Also more importantly the Americans were not at all ready for this attack. They were underestimating the
Japanese. There were some warnings from the Military officials that the Japanese were coming to attack. The warning did not really matter enough that
the Commanders at Pearl Harbor did not believe he Japanese would attack them knowing how far they were from

2. Pearl Harbor Attack
In 1945, the United States had declared war on Japan after they had attacked Pearl Harbor. Since Japan was an island, the U.S. wouldn't be able to
directly attack them. It was too far away for an air raid and naval raids would be too predictable and wouldn't work. So, the United States had to think
of a way to attack the Japanese. They decided that since the Japanese were still fighting against other countries, they could attack the smaller islands
surrounding Japan. The U.S. thought that these islands would be less defended by the Japanese. The United States felt like they could use these islands
to provide a strong area for attacks on the Japanese mainland. This counterâoffensive attack was known as the island hopping campaign. The United
States were led by Admiral Chester W. Nimitz and Douglas MacArthur. An island that the U.S. was strongly looking at was Iwo Jima. Iwo Jima
already had 3 airstrips on it, so they saw it as the perfect place to attack. Iwo Jima was an island located about 810 miles southâeast of Japan. It was
part of an island chain called the Japanese Volcano Islands. It measures about 5 miles long and has an area of about 8 square miles, which is about
8,000 times smaller than Wisconsin. It ranges from 800 yards to 2.5 miles in width. Iwo Jima was widely known for a volcano called Mount
Suribachi. The U.S. really focused on capturing this landmark because it could provide them with a great view of the island and it would make it
easier to see the

didn't say anything? An why did the Japanese choose Pearl Harbor of all place to strike an attack, was their a significance? These are all question you

8:05 am level bombers at battleships. Ships like the Oklahoma, West Virginia, Tennessee, and Arizona were all hit by torpedoes. During the attack,
many of our pilots noted the brave efforts they put in, in trying to put some aircrafts off the ground. But they were too greatly outnumbered. The
Japanese would just shoot all of our planes before lift off or crash into them if were about to take off from the ground. "There efforts were negligible
but their courage commanded the admiration and respect of our pilots." (#3â4)
The US was stunned and enraged by the attack. President Franklin D. Roosevelt called it "a day of infamy." The next day, December 8, 1941, the
US declared war on Japan. The Japanese had planned out this attack well before it occurred. Working hard and discussing how to do it. There had
already been in tension between the US and Japan before this whole thing occurred. They just weren't sure how or with what to strike because the
waters of Pearl Harbor are real deep. They wanted the attack to be the most effective on possible. So they put fins on

5. Pearl Harbor Dbq Essay
The main focus on this essay is "Why Did Japan Attack Pearl Harbor?". On a normal Sunday morning when the American navy units were busy
doing their normal routine work, the Japanese navy planned a surprise attack that stunned the world. This attack was so unpredictable that the
entire American navy went in deep shock. Very few of them realized the need to manage and control their position to save the naval power. All the
staff and ships that were present at the Pearl Harbor suffered massive loss. Just a couple of hours of bombing gave the Pearl Harbor, a battlefield
view with fire and smoke emerging from every corner. The attack left American navy at a loss of 2400 of her best men as well as 21 ships that were
either sunk or completely demolished....show more content...
Japan believed they were the fountain of the Yamato race and believed they were superior to any other asian race (Document A). Japan also thought
that America would crumble and become "Old Orders" (Document A). Japan's expansion into Asia caused them to go after the bigger countries.
The second and one of the more underrated reasons Japan attacked Pearl Harbor was because of America putting an embargo on their oil. In August
of 1941, America stopped shipping goods to Japan. The many goods America shipped to Japan were vital because it was more of an underdeveloped
country and couldn't get the good themselves. As provided in Document D, more than 70% of Japan's oil came from the United States. When that
drastically changed it provided a valuable explanation to why Japan declared war.
The last and final reason is that Japan thought America would crumple their power and also attack them first. Japan thought that America had the
means and potential to attack them first so they wanted to get out their first and prevent an attack on their end. In closing there are many reasons as to
why Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. It was a surprise attack that has left many americans still in shock and confusion to this

December 7, 1941, was on of the worst attacks ever on the United States. Out of that day, 2,403 soldiers were killed in action, 1,178 were wounded
in action. Through the misjudgments of numerous U.S. armed forces personnel, the Japanese were able to carry out this terrible attack, which
crippled the United States' Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. "Yesterday, December 7, 1941, a date which will live in infamy, the United States of

Not only did the United States freeze all Japanese assets under U.S. control but it also halted all sales of oil to Japan as well. The United States
tried to come to a resolve with Japan over their differences. Because of neither nation's willingness to compromise, war was now inevitable (Borg).
Why didn't the U.S. suspect Pearl Harbor of being the place of attack? Since the United States halted all exports to Japan, Japan declared war on
the United States. Due to the lack of information, lack of technology, and talks of peace by Japan, the United States had no idea where Japan was
going to hit. As early as January 1941, reports suggested that Japan might attack Pearl Harbor; but civilian and military officials in Washington and
Hawaii ignored these reports, considering an assault on the Philippines or European territories more likely, and underestimating Japan's ability to
conceal preparations for such an operation. By the summer of 1941 American leaders knew, due to the success of the magic cryptanalysis operation in
breaking Japanese military operational codes that Japan was likely to take military action of some kind (Irive). Japan had only about a 12âmonth
supply of petroleum to fuel its economy and war machine, so the Americans anticipated the Japanese would act quickly. The only questions they could
not answer were when and where (Woods). Pearl Harbor had been a major naval

7. Attack On Pearl Harbor Essay
The attack on Pearl Harbor occurred December 7, 1941. It was the Japanese who attack the U.S at its Naval base. President Roosevelt described this
day as a day of infamy. The main reason the Japanese attacked the U.S was because they knew that the U.S would interfere when they were going to
defeat Southeast Asia , so they attack the U.S Naval base at Pearl Harbor.
The attack on Pearl Harbor was a big part in WWII. I say that because the Attack on Pearl Harbor is what got the U.S into WWII. When the Japanese
attacked everyone was surprised even Japan's allied powers. Hitler wasn't surprised of the attack, he was surprise what time Japan did the attack.
The weapons they used in the Attack on Pearl Harbor were bombs, machine guns, and...show more content...
They thought they were going to take the United states out with a joke but that did not happen. So in my opinion i think it was foolish for the
Japanese to attack them and foolish for them to think it was going to be easy to get by them to get to Southern Asia with no interference. The attack
on Pearl Harbor was a turning point in War II .
The main reason Japan attacked the United states at Pearl Harbor was because Pearl Harbor is the United States Naval Base. A Naval base is where
you keep your war ships and naval ships when they are off duty. A Naval base for the United States is where they kept their battleships and their
aircraft carriers. This is the reason the Japanese attacked the United States Naval Base because that's where they kept their aircraft carriers and
battleships.
Luckily for the United States their Aircraft carriers weren't at base at this point. They were at sea. But the Japanese had some success with the
United States battleships , planes, and Naval vessels. The Japanese caused a lot of damage in this battle. Ok so they manage to damage all eight of
the United States battleships , and four of them sunk, they manage to destroy nearly 20 naval bases, and OVER 300 american planes. Yeah that's a lot
of damage for one battle ,but thanks to the United States ability to make resources quickly and easy they were able to rebuild very quickly. And in fact
the attack on Pearl Harbor did not really hurt the United States as the Japanese thought it

What was Behind the attack? What bombs and torpedos were used to kill 2,403 Americans? Two waves of attacks occurred at Pearl Harbor. Bombs
and torpedoes shot from above and below. The targets were American ships. The Japanese had a smart but cheap combat method. At 7:38 a.m. the
first wave began. The first wave was series of firing bombs and torpedoes by "Kates" and "Vals." The type 98 land bomb and the Type 99 anti
âship
bomb 800kg were fired by "Kates". The "Vals" shot type 91 model 2 torpedoes. The "Kates" had the primary firing role in the first wave. The first
attacked ended by 9:10 a.m. when the Nevada was finally grounded. The second wave was on its way. The "Vals" now took the primary role. They
were dropping Type 97 bombs. These bombs were located under each wing. The second wave consisted of bombing groups. The first group were
27B5Ns dropping 550 pound general purpose bombs. The second group were 78 D3As armed with three 550 pound general purpose bombs. The
third group consisted of 35 A6Ms only there for defense. The whole Pearl Harbor attack was a success ending at 10:00 a.m.....show more content...

Harbor another world war started. Japan acted out to protect their advance into Malaya and natural resources in the Dutch East Indies. This war made
a strong impression on many. It made a huge impression on Vice Admiral William F. "bull Hasley. Many agree with his quote, "Before we're through
