Myers-Briggs Test
Learning how to socialize in big groups and thinking before acting can take you further in life
rather than the other way around. The purpose of the Myers Briggs test is to indicate your
personality type by using four scales. The four scales are 1. extroversion/introversion 2.sensate
/intuitive, 3. thinking/feeling 4. judging/ perceiving. According to the test, I scored higher of
extroversion like than introversion. I also I scored higher in thinking rather than feeling. In other
words, using my head other than my heart. Being an extrovert comes with having high energy and
the love of being around large crowds. Which I can say fits my personality perfectly. Also, I think

Running against me for the same position in office was a girl by the name of Rachel Monroe.
She had more experience than me because she has been in ASB all four years and won each
position she ran for and she was the vice president the previous year. She was tough competition
but I knew if I stayed focus and stuck to what I originally had planned I would be fine. Rachel
went first, she had a great plan of what she wanted to do for the upcoming school year but the
only thing about her speech is that it was dry, as in it felt like she talked forever, even though
each speech had a time limit of five to seven minutes. It was my turn, I told myself to Stay
focused Kishawn and I will receive the position that I desired. That is exactly what I did
presenting my speech with putting my personality all throughout the speech because I know how
to use my personality and comedy I had the audience laughing with tasteful jokes that I had in my
speech but making sure my plans for upcoming school year was believable and clear. I felt that I
got a positive reaction from the one s who were deciding who would get the position. At the end of
the week, there was an ASB meeting announcing the winning candidates. I was nervous but I knew
I did my best. The meeting started at three o clock, not a minute early nor a minute late. You can see
nervous faces all around the room. I made casual conversation with the ones around me to cut the
tension. Announcing

Naturalism In Long Day s Journey Into The Night
The trope of naturalism in western theater have readdressed the form of dramatic arts from the
royal narrative and biblical tales to stories of commoners that the audience can actually relate to.
Naturalism also allows the distinction of tragedy and comedy to dissipate by developing a plot
that focuses on a day to day occurrence. This convention is represented by playwrights who are
writing in a more colloquial voice with stories about the middle class or working class, and their
struggles. Naturalism gave birth to the works of Eugene O Neill and Edward Albee that pushes
the nuance of dysfunctionality and addiction to its extreme in works such as Long Day s
Journey Into The Night and Who s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. The two playwrights zoom in
towards a domestic issue that were driven a lot by each character s desire for happiness and the
disappointment that are not being expressed appropriately that drove them to an addiction as
form of escape from the reality. The two plays place a tragic maternal figure who escapes their
unachievable idea of happiness through a facade of lies in the forefront of the narrative. In
Long Day s Journey Into The Night, Mary Tyrone s ideal happiness comes from her sense of
nostalgia and what defined her happiness when she married Tyrone while Martha s imaginary
son and her inability to face the reality of a dull life of being married to a university professor are
what became of her tragic downfall at the end of Who s Afraid of Virginia

Trespassing Complaint At The American Legion Case Study
Trespassing complaint at the American Legion. The caller, Jacob Komara, stated Marilyn
Stefanski was there refusing to leave. She went in and asked to use the bathroom and he said
she could. She proceeded to sit down and he advised her that she is not suppose to be there. She
became verbally agressive and refused to leave. He has asked her to leave before approx. 1 to 2
months ago when she entered and began giving him a hard time, but on that occassion she
willingly left without any additional problems. Marilyn said she went in to use the bathroom,

asked her to and she first said because she has the right to be there and later saying she wanted to

Community Is Unity It s The Foundation For All The People
Community is unity it s people coming together as one to support different ideologies and to create
a sense of togetherness in a group. Community is important because it s the foundation for all the
people that live in it. Without that sense of unity and togetherness there will be disfunction not only
within that community but with the people that reside in that community. There is a relationship
between the people and the community because the people are what make that community either
prosper or become dysfunctional. For example if a community is dysfunctional it s because the
people within that community are not coming together to create that sense of unity. In order for a
community to be vibrant and prosper the people within it have to seek each other out and create
that bond, that sense of wholeness which will then make that community be vibrant and not
dysfunctional. A community being vibrant or dysfunctional is based on the people, individuals are
shaped by the community in which they live in based off how that community is set up. Meaning if
the community is not stable it will reflect through the people and vice versa. Within my community
I play the role of being a leader, this is important because no matter the form of community my
presence helps create that sense of unity and leadership.A community being vibrant and
dysfunctional is all dependent on the people. If a community is vibrant it s because of the unity and
togetherness

Teaching Research Methods Within The Classroom
Abstract
Psychology undergraduates are required to study research methods within their course.
Psychology undergraduates are required to study research methods within their course. Within this
are many different statistical definitions which have been considered the most challenging aspect of
the curriculum.
An individual undergraduate psychology student took part in this study. The study aimed to
increase the accuracy and fluency of the recall of these definitions by applying an intervention
phase of reading through SAFMEDS cards aloud previous to recalling them in one minute. The
SAFMEDS cards were made up of key statistical concepts taken from a study guide which is core to
the research methods module. Results indicated that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is more of a requirement now as students are being given greater opportunities within their
course due to the new resources being put into psychology departments. Part of this means that
students are now able to conduct their own research within the third year of their degree, meaning
they need a deep level of understanding for statistics in order to accumulate adequate conclusions
from their results.
Precision teaching (PT) has proved to be an effective tool when aiming to teach students material
fluently and accurately. Lindsley (1990) showed that students in precision teaching classrooms
who were told to keep records of their own academic and non academic performance and use
these records to guide their performance and eventually lead to more academic success due to the
visual representation they had. This element of precision teaching is particularly useful as
learners who improve this way are susceptible to fluency based procedures which often consist of
SAFMEDS or packs of cards similar to this. SAFMEDS are typically used to help students become
fluent in definitions and basic concepts, in this experiment they are being used to improve a base of
knowledge on research methods within psychology.

In order to make an improvement to the part of community support and health service, here are
some suggestions. As compare with other countries and cities, there is something we can do as to
improve it. They are the prevention and health care, range of services and data management.
First is the health and preservation. The government should provide some interesting projects on
promote the prevention and health care (World Health Organization, 2007). They should
encourage the elderly to join difference kinds of workshop which are about difference kinds of
health problems. It can let them know more about how to take good care with their bodies.
Formation of the support group for different kinds of chronic diseases patients who are in
different ages can promote awareness of those diseases, and it can help the health services
providers can easier to provide special health services for specify patients (HKCSS, 2012). In
addition, as the support groups are included with different kinds of age group in the community, it
helps promote the social inclusion of the elderly.
Second is the part of range of services. A one stop health and wellness service which includes with
a variety of services (physician, nurse, dentist, podiatrist, pharmacy and occupational therapy) can
help solve the problem (Public Health Agency of Canada, 2011). The one stop service can let the

GPA Class Rank
Should one bad test day that somebody had years ago determine their entire future? Test scores,
GPA, and class rank matter more than ever before, and have a massive impact on our chances of
getting into the school or job that is desired. These numbers should not define people for a
multitude of reasons. The standardized teststhat are required of all students is not an accurate
reflection on that student s ability to succeed in an actual working environment, hazardous health
effects, and the fact that students are haunted by a huge pressure defined by their family and
society that they must get a certain class rank or their entire future is out the window. New tests
should be implemented that give an accurate reflection of student s abilities... Show more content on

Through the years of school students go through many teachers which are all very different in their
teaching methods and how they grade. Some teachers offer a lot of opportunities to significantly
boost a student s grade while others are very strict about how they grade, for example, Student A is
the exact same as Student B, but one of them has a significantly higher GPA because they won the
teacher lottery. Until last year a lot of the computer in Plano ISD were probably older than the
students using them, this brings up another major inequality. America is a very diverse country in
many ways, one of these is income inequality. Many poorer communities around the country are
severely under equipped in terms of courses available, technology used by students, and student to
teacher ratio. Students that grow up in these communities are already at a massive disadvantage
when it comes to educational opportunities and keeping this same system in place will only hold
back these students that had the misfortune of attending and underfunded

Facilitators In William Shakespeare s Richard II
Shakespeare s Richard II is a play which depicts the last few years of England s King Richard s
rule. John of Gaunt, who is the 1st Duke of Lancaster and Richard s uncle, is a sick and dying
man who believes men of his situation as great counsel to the youth. Oh, but they say the
tongues of dying men enforce attention like deep harmony (Act 2, Scene 1, 39). Shakespeare
uses Gaunt as the introductory facilitator for his metaphoric description of England as a garden,
where Richard is described as the royal gardener who is mismanaging the garden; lending to the
second fall of humanity through the loss of what is an imaginary Eden. It is Gaunt s hope that
Richard will listen to the advice he has to offer from his deathbed, but Duke of York doubts he
will. Instead, York is of the opinion, Richard listens only to those whom flatterer him and that his
taste for luxury is overwhelming. Gaunt insists that Richard s reign will not last long; giving a
speech in praise of England... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why should we in the compass of a pale keep law and form and due proportion, showing as in a

flowers chocked up, her fruit trees all unpruned, her hedges ruined, her knots disordered, and her
wholesome herbs swarming with caterpillars (Act 3, Scene 4, 40 46). The gardener s instructions
to his helpers about weeding and pruning are superimposed on England s political situation. The
garden is England and the plant needing pruning is the royal family. The gardener explains that
the weeding and pruning process is necessary for the long range life of the garden. In the same
way it is presented that Richard s deposition has become inevitable if England is to become well

The West Memphis Three Analysis
Mackenzie Milner Ms. Whitford ENGL 101 29 November 2016 The West Memphis Three There
are many movies we can watch and not give a second thought about, except when we see those
few little words based on a true story. There is something about these movies that put a deeper
chill in our bones. The movie Devil s Knot may be based on a true story, but viewers are not
fascinated about the mystery of the crime and neither are the countless documentarians on the case.
Viewers are interested and overwhelmed by the injustice done to the young teenagers, practically
children themselves, who were made scapegoats by their own community because they were
simply different. In 1993 three young boys, Michael Moore, Stevie Branch, and Chris Byers, set...

Saturn, its rings and the moonsystem. Choose at least one picture and explain it. Although, Saturn

interesting to learn about all the many discoveries of Saturn.
NASA launched the Cassini Huygens mission on October 15, 1997. Cassini was sent to explore the

turbulent atmosphere that has many similarities with Jupiter than previously realized. The new
observations reveal a calm and narrow equatorial belt surrounded by stormy bands just like on

Recently generated global microwave maps of Saturn exposed detail of a mostly stable atmospheric

Cultural Impacts Of Globalization
ABSTRACT
Globalization can be defined as a system of interaction or increasing global relationships between
cultures, people, and economic activities among the countries of the world. Globalization in its
simpler form refers to conglomerate exchange of languages, ideas, and cultures. Behaviour or
impacts of Globalization differ from country to country having a demarcation between developed
countries like Britain and developing countries. Some critics allege that it has been footing down
the cultural values and increasing conflicts between two nations. Globalization is a double edged
sword as it impacts and affects all generations of people, economically, politically, environmentally,
and culturally. While Globalization has its benefits millions of people around the world are now
more empowered because of global interconnectedness there are still many problems that can and
already have risen from cultural and economic development around the world KEYWORDS:
globalisation, environment, opportunity.
INTRODUCTION The historical origin of the process of Globalization is debatable as in common
usage refers to late twentieth century but some scholars regard it as having ancient history. One can
confirm this by observing the trade patterns between the empires in ancient times. Some examples
such as Silk Road between eastern world and Ottoman Empire, trade links between Roman Empire
and India can be cited. Another stage of Globalization began during the Islamic age with the

From Jesus To Christ
From Jesus to Christ tells the story of how Jesus changed throughout his life from his birth to his
death. The parts of the film depict on how Jesus life was shaped through his surroundings and
influences on his life, the time after Jesus was crucified and how that sparked the movement of
Christianity, the Gospels representation of who Christ was and their own story, and lastly how
Christianityfaced challenges. The first part begins as almost all Christians know the story, the
angel Gabriel sent by God to Galilee to tell the virgin Mary she would bear a child named Jesus.
Known as Jesus of Nazareth, later to the world as Jesus Christ, we know little about him other than
the words of the Gospels, his birth two thousand years ago, his baptism, and his public execution.
The hardest part is the lacking amount of material from the actual time of Jesus and trusting the

Analysis Of Glengarry Glen Ross By David Mamet
Everyday people use speech to relay their thoughts and feelings. Some people s jobs revolve
around speaking to others to convince them that they have a better idea for their investments and
that they know what is best for the customer. Such jobs include those of salesmen. Their sole job is
to convince their customers that it is in their best interest to buy their product that they are trying to
sell. The film adaptation of the play Glengarry Glen Rosswritten by David Mamet, illustrates how
salesmen are able to convince other groups of people that they know what is in the best interest of
their customers by each salesman s particular word choice and speech. In the movie, the customers
are often weak men that are not able to stand up for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, in the beginning of the film, Blake comes into Premier Properties and unleashes
himself and goes off on each of the salesmen. He makes them question their own actions
specifically by the way he speaks. At one point, Levene is trying to make a cup of coffee and
Blake mandates him by saying, Put that coffee down. Coffee s for closers only and Levene
listens (Glengarry Glen Ross). Later in the same scene, he is able to get Aaronow, Moss, and
Levene s attention by telling them that they are all fired and the only way to get their job back
is by earning it. Blake is an expert in engaging others and makes them listen to him no matter
what it takes. He constantly uses profanity to emasculate the salesmen, which gets his points
across that he means business. As another example, Roma is also able to persuade others by
weakening them and making them feel as if he is the only one that can help. Roma is able to get
one of his customers, Lingk, to close a deal by first getting him drunk, and then follows it up by
appealing to Lingk s emotions and being personable. Roma also uses literary devices such as,
repetition and rhetorical questions in order to convince him to buy the property:
Stocks, bonds, objects of art, what are they? An opportunity. To what? To make money? Perhaps.
To lose money? Perhaps. To indulge and learn about ourselves? Perhaps. So fucking what? What is

Essay on Supersonic Flight
In 1943, Theodor Von Karman, in response to a request by US Air Force headquarters, claimed
that the realization of a supersonic aircraft would have been doable using the right technology
and tools. The fear of breaking the sound barrier was finally removed in 1947, when the Captain
Yaeger flew the Bell X 1 at a speed slightly above Mach 1 for few seconds, producing the famous
and long awaited sonic boom(caused by an impulsive pressure change created by the sonic waves
detaching from the aircraft), music for the scientists attending that historical moment, but current
nightmare for the 21st Century supersonicvehicles designers [8].

The B 58 itself showed to the world that the possibility of a civilian SST was at least worthy of
accurate investigation and capital investments. Although the large bomber implemented the
supersonic efficient area ruling design first introduced by Whitcomb (mid 1950s [1]) and
therefore it could deliver a nuclear payload cruising at Mach 2 for about two hours, the light and
thin wings, designed for high altitude flight and inefficient close to the ground at subsonic speed,
highlighted a new set of primary technical challenges to be addressed by a commercial SST: the
realization satisfactory structural design, the optimization of the wing aerodynamics for subsonic
flow, and related to the last point, the improvement of takeoff and landing performance. A deadly
crash at 1961 Paris air show summed up all the concerns about safety issues related to a not
optimal overall design [4].
Three civilian SST programs started in the 1960s: the successful Anglo French Concorde, the
somewhat failed Russian TU 144 and the short ten year long attempt of the USA SST, all
belonging to the category of what today is referred as first generation supersonic transport.
Politics played a big role in the development of a SST in the post WWI years. European countries
were looking for a way to challenge America s leading position in civil aviation. In particular,

Character Analysis Of Gerta In A Night Divided
In the beginning of the book A Night Divided, Gerta was physically described as a twelve year old
girl with blond hair. She was also described as having round eyes, with a warm brown tone. Her
body was athletic and fit although, by the end of the book she had become really skinny almost as
if she had been starving.
Gerta was always described as outspoken, passionate, and a risk taker. For example, in the book
when Gerta and her brother were almost done with the tunnel, the tunnel began to collapse, her
brother insisted to let it collapse however Gerta never gave up on building the tunnel. This is an
example of Gerta being a risk taker and showing determination on not giving up. Another scene
from the book is when Gerta s only best friend goes to talk to her when she is building the tunnel,
but Gerta impulsively tells her that she doesn t want to be her friend anymore because she wants to
be alone and finish the tunnel to get to her father.
Gerta s family consists of five people not including Gerta; those people are her mom, dad, two
brothers, and grandma. Her mom is named Catherina, her dad s name is Aldous Lowe, her oldest
brother is named Fritz, her younger brother s name is Dominic and her grandmother s name is Oma
Gertrude. After the Berlin Wallwas created, Gerta lived only with her mom and her oldest brother
Fritz since her youngest brother and her dad were stuck in the West Berlin looking for a job. Her
grandmother lived in the countryside in East Berlin, the only time Gerta s mother went to see her
was when Oma Gertrude broke her leg and needed attention. Gerta s only friend through out the
book was Anna.
The most important thing that happened to Gerta was when she was walking home from school
with Anna and saw her dad do a dance that he would do for her every night before the berlin wall
was created. However, her dad kept repeating one part over and over again which was digging
with a shovel. After that, Anna gave her a letter from her dad with a drawing of a building that
Gerta had to find and figure out what it meant. Once she found the building she started looking
around and found and underground room and figured out what her father wanted her to do, he

An Investigation Of Verbal Communication
1.Introduction There are numerous routes in which a specific methodology in the sociologies can
be presented and clarified. One of these is through explicative contrast from fairly comparable
methodologies. The expression Conversation Analysis is at this point solidly settled as the name
for a specific worldview in the investigation of verbal communication that was started in the 1960s
by Harvey Sacks, as a team with Emanuel Schegloff and Gail Jefferson. In Conversation Analysis
the attention is on the procedural examination of talk in cooperation, how members deliberately
sort out their connections to take care of a scope of authoritative issues, for example, the dispersion
of turns at talking, the community oriented creation of specific activities, or issues of
comprehension. The investigation is constantly in view of sound or visual recordings of
collaboration, which are precisely interpreted in subtle elements. The exploration ought to be data
driven, as in ideas and speculations ought to be founded on watchful thoughts of the information,
recordings and transcripts, as opposed to drawn from hypothetical assumptions or ideological
inclinations. While initially imagined from a sociological point of view, Conversation Analysis
picked up a far reaching gathering in numerous parts of the world by scientists from a scope of
disciplinary foundations, including: brain science, human sciences, correspondence ponders and an
assortment of phonetic sub disciplines. As a

The Final Lines From Beowulf s Speech
Consider the final lines from Beowulf s speech when he asks Hrothgar for permission to fight
Grendel (ll. 440 455). In these final lines Beowulf envisions the scene of Grendel s victory. How
does our translation use alliteration, assonance, and compound words to make vivid the nature of
Grendel, the devastating effects of that possible victory, and the necessary acceptance of God s
will and the working of fate? S2 Answer #1 Beowulf:
Our translation almost seems to create key words in the lines that contain alliteration and assonance.
Examples such as fight with the fiend (440), frenzy fouling (449), or fear on that flower (444) add
a sense of drama and heightened awareness to the lines because of their bold, descriptive ... Show

2. Consider carefully the cross s narrative in The Dream of the Rood. How does the cross s
narrative adhere to Anglo Saxon notions of heroism in its depiction of the crucifixion? How does
the cross s narrative deviate from Anglo Saxon notions of heroism in its depiction of the
crucifixion? In answering this question, please refer to the Anglo Saxon notions of heroism
discussed in class. I m not listing particular formal and stylistic devices because those of you with
the 8th edition have a different translation than those of you with the 9th edition, but you will need
to select key formal and stylistic devices in order to provide evidence for your claims.
Answer #2 The Dream of the Rood:
The cross s narrative in The Dream of the Rood adhered to Anglo Saxon notions of heroism
because Jesus is depicted as a triumphant hero that defeats human sin which is startlingly unlike
the actual Biblical account. Essentially, poets in the Middle Ages put Jesus into the most popular
box of the time, the warrior box, in order to appeal to Pagans. Regardless, Anglo Saxon heroes
were aggressive, violent, and hypermasculine so Christ inherently subverts being a perfect Anglo
Saxon hero because of his

GDP Problem Sets and International Economic Indicators
1. The accounting identity for GDP is as follows: C+I+G+X M=GDP Thus, we have the
following calculation: 1000 + 200 + 250+ 100 = 1550 2. The effect on the GDP of increasing
domestic energy production depends on what assumptions go into this. The easiest assumption
is that the increase in domestic production will result in an equivalent reduction in imports. This
would result in no net change to the GDP. However, with domestic production all of the value
that goes into that production would stay in the country, whereas with imports some of the
value of that production goes outside the country. For example, the cost of barrel of foreign oil
includes factors like shipping costs and producer markups that inflate the cost of the imports. In
all likelihood, domestic energy sources, if viable, would be most cost effective. Under that
assumption, M would decrease faster than I would increase. Thus, there would be a net gain to
the GDP from switching to domestic energy production. Inflation 1. 111/106 = 4.7% 2. 234/217

A Brief Note On The Civil Service System
Civil service systems are designed to hire and promote members of the bureaucracy on the basis
of merit. The merit principle is the idea that hiring should be based on entrance exams and
promotion ratings to reward qualified individuals to produce an administration of skilled and
talented people. All civil servant applicants must pass an exam that measures skills related to the
particular civil serviceposition they hope to fill. Some civil service exams are general and apply
to a wide range of jobs, whereas others are focused on a particular type of job. I do not see how a
merit exam can truly show how successful a potential civil servant would be performing in a
particular position. An exam may be able to measure the extent of their paper knowledge on the
position, but does not reflect how well a civil servant would be able to apply their knowledge to
their job. Standardized tests are often frowned upon in public schools, with some politicians and
scholars arguing that standardized tests measure how well a student can take the test, and does not
measure how much he or she has learned. The same applies to these merit exams. I do not believe
that a potential bureaucrat should earn their governmentposition through entrance exams. The exam
does not measure how successful a bureaucrat would be at performing their job, but rather
measures their test taking abilities. I believe that a potential bureaucrat should have to partake in a
two year long paid internship in their

D. Ruxton s Non-Visual Hypothesis
One of the essential elements of life for living organisms is survival, which in most cases, requires
the consumption of other organisms, and therefore is where separating living organisms into two
categories: predator and prey. But with survival there comes a time where the organism must avoid
death by factors of life. The influence of camouflage on the predation rate has given the organism
that is preyed apound a chance to experience a longer life span. According to G.D. Ruxton in Non
visual crypsis: a review of the empirical evidence for camouflage to senses other than vision,
organisms use the ability to camouflage to make themselves seem invisible or difficult to see to
their prey. Camouflage varies from changes in the color of the body,... Show more content on

limiting the collection of data needed to support their hypothesis. Also, because of incomplete

Analysis Of Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde By Robert Lewis Stevenson
As the cities in the nineteenth century grew and expanded, more and more people moved from
the countryside to said cities. With an increase in the size and population of the city a individual s
anonymity increased as well. Both the Paris Morgue and the novella Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
written by Robert Lewis Stevenson portray the anonymity of modern city life. While middle class
men often appreciated the anonymity of the city, because it allowed them to escape social class
restrictions, they also feared some of the negative implications. The working class, on the other
hand, might have enjoyed the new found entertainment options, however they also had to fear
being victims of crime and ending as nameless corpses. Women, both from the middle class and
working class, experienced more freedom through the entertainment and leisure time options
available due to the anonymous character of the city. For the middle class man the anonymity of
the city promised freedom from social restrictions, that hindered him from behaving in ways that
were unseeming for a man of his standing. In his novella Stevenson writes about a wealthy
middle class doctor, Dr. Henry Jekyll, who through a potion, could turn himself into a different
person. This second personality of his being called Edward Hyde. Mr. Hyde represents the more
sinister and evil part of Jekyll s personality, which had been split after he first took his potion.
Before making his potion Jekyll often had desires that were not

What Are The Pros And Cons Of Federalism
Federalism is restricted that governments decide to take care of the issue of administering
substantial populaces and different societies. Federalism lives up to expectations by separating its
power and responsibility, instead of a unitary government, in which the focal government controls
everything. Federalists convictions could be better portrayed as nationalist. The Federalists were
instrumental in 1787 in forming the new US Constitution, which fortified the national government
to the detriment. The Anti Federalists contradicted the US s ratification Constitution; however they

Analysis Of Money In The Great Gatsby

Often times there is a man that really does like this lady, but because he doesn t have money he

An online article by Teachout states, such stories embody the rags to riches vision of worldly
success that has come to be known as the American Dream . American dream is what many
stand for. The true way he got the money was through drug dealing and the bad side of things,
the money was not earn honestly. Clearly, the American dream to become someone from very
little is in play in this message. Another message for The Great Gatsby is challenging the idea of
money makes you happy. Having a lot of money means you can buy anything such as , big
house, new vehicles, etc. Anything new that comes out can easily be bought. Gatsby reached
this point and this is why he spends lots of money on parties because he had so much money it
doesn t matter. But is Gatsby really happy? In the novel it says, Gatsby bought that house so that
Daisy would be just across the bay (Page78). Even with all his money Gatsby was still not happy
because he didn t have what he really wants which was Daisy. The reason he even got all this
money was in hopes to get Daisy to see all his money and make her come back to him. This didn
t go as planned because Daisy husband Tom would not let her go anywhere without him. So
Gatsby was left alone with all that money but no love. In this novel money doesn t equal happiness,
but love was truly the point of happiness. In another online article it says, None of these are bad but

Cadbury As A Company Of The Age Of Management
Cadbury
During class we discussed Cadburys approach on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Visser,W., Hollender, J.(2011) describe Cadbury as a prototypical company of the Age of
Management . For a long time, Cadbury derived is motivation to be involved in CSR from its
founder John Cadbury. He as a fellow of the Quakers was convinced that doing business should
aim to solve social issues. His philosophy became part of Cadbury and formed the base for their
applied business ethics. Their engagements impacted the business environment of the company.
The former chief executive Todd Stitzer is cited by Visser,W., Hollender, J.(2011) in 2008
explaining his high personal identification with the company and their corporate spirit I spent 27
years of my life at this company. I absolutely love what it stands for and what it has done . . . the
whole idea that doing good is good for business .
In 2010 Cadbury was sold to the multinational food corporation which merged with Heinz later
on and is now operating under the name Mondelez. The takeover for $21,8 billion finally ending
an area of the Quaker ideology in the company. Mondelez is a multinational cooperation with a
net revenue of approximately $30 billion in 2015 (Mondelez, 2016). In their fact sheet of 2016 the
company explains further About 85 percent of our annual revenue is generated in fast growing
snacks categories, and nearly 75 percent of our sales come from outside of North America .

Evolution Vs. Fossil Records
Evolution has been a widely known discussion that many people have had over the past century, the
theory of evolution has been welcomed by many scientists yet by some religious people it has been
a taboo topic. The thought or the motion to entertain that humans evolved from primates is what
some people would shudder and state that it goes against all their religious beliefs. However,
scientist have pushed on the fact that evolutionis not just a hypothetical or an outlandish theory but
a theory that has multiple hard evidence to back it and that to ignore is ignorance and just plain
stupidity. Four types of evidence of evolution are fossil records, genetic changes, the geographic
distribution of species, and the similarities in embryos of species. One of the evidences of
evolution is fossil records, with fossil records being the remains of plants and animals that scientist
have found in sedimentary rocks. Fossil records have given us irrefutable evidence of evolution in
the past, over a course of a long period of time, proving there is significant variation amongst living
things. Evolution is a continuum; all the minor changes over a period of time add up to a major
change. On the continuum, fossils are the points that displaying what the organism had become
after evolving at that stage in time.
Although fossil records are substantial evidence for evolution there are gaps in the fossil records
due to the fact of incompletion of the collecting data. As evolution is

Classroom Observation In The Classroom
On September 13th, 2017 I observed Chef Holman at Murray Calloway County Area Tech
Center. I first met principal, Dan Hicks, he showed us the facility and gave us an overview of all
programs offered at the school. Before this observation I did not know that culinary was a program
offered at an area tech center. During my observationI used the domains of the Danielson
Framework for teaching observation. I also learned many new ideas and I plan to apply them to my
future classroom.
For this observation I specifically observed for domains 2c: Managing Classroom Procedures and
2e: Organizing Physical Space. For 2c: Managing Classroom Procedures, I looked for little
instructional time that was lost due to routines, procedures, transitions, and handling of supplies.
Chef Holman said to keep the students attention she tries to keep her lectures under 20 minutes
so she can quickly transition the students into the kitchen. Her transition was different than what
I would have done as the teacher. Once lecture was over she released them into the kitchen,
verses where I would have gone into the kitchen and demonstrated techniques to successfully
complete the recipe. When I am a teacher I plan to show my students how to properly prepare
food by using lecture time and hands on demonstration time. One way I found there was some
hands on instruction loss in her second block was when she did not thoroughly explain the recipe.
The students had to come ask her questions and stop their progress in the kitchen. I liked the
suggestion Chef Holman made regarding designating certain days of the week to cooking and
others to lecture. This allows the students to get used to a routine and optimize their time spent in
the classroom so no instruction time is lost. I also liked Chef Holman s teaching strategy of
teaching the basics first. In my classroom when I am a teacher I want to start out with the very
basics because every student comes from a different back ground, you don t know what they have
or have not learned at home. I learned that you do not assume students know how to do something.
You need to explain everything step by step so students fully understand what is expected of them.
If students know what you expect, they

How Is Mendacity In Cat On A Hot Tin Roof
Mendacity is untruthfulness and disgust is a feeling of revulsion by something. All the
characters in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof have experienced mendacity and disgust. For mendacity, we
had all but Big Daddy, Big Mama, and Brick lie about Big Daddy s sickness. They, as in Margaret,
Mae, Reverend Tooker, and Gooper, said it was a spastic colon and not cancer, but it was
truthfully malignant cancer (Brick did not know for a while that it was a lie). This is something that
angers and disgusts Big Daddy when he found out from Brick by accident. It was something he
was not expecting and resulted in his growing resentment for the others. They had told him
something of mendacity and added on to the other lies he had experienced his whole life. He was

Disgust can be seen in Gooper also. When he learns that Big Daddy will most likely be giving his
twenty eight thousand acre plantation to Brick, Gooper was appalled. Why should an alcoholic
like Brick get an estate? Gooper was disgusted by learning that from Big Mama.
Big Mama experiences mendacity when she had an argument with Big Daddy on his birthday.
He tells her that he never loved her, that she never loved him, and that it was all just a lie. This
also brought disgust to Big Mama because she could not comprehend it, which was why she left
crying. Brick was a major character that experienced mendacity and disgust. Skipper and Brick
had a clean and close friendship. The relationship Brick had with Skipper was something Brick
was truly happy with. It ruined him learning that Skipper was a homosexual man and had slept
with his wife one time. He felt disgusted with the mendacity found in their friendship. Skipper was
untruthful by not telling Brick that fact and is why Brick felt disgusted. However, I believe that

People generally treat other people in any way they want. However they do not expect anything

Through Katherina s reaction when people call her a shrew and treat her like a foolish girl, the
way Katherina reacts when Baptista shows favoritism towards Bianca, and by the way Bianca acts

To begin with, around her father, Binaca acts like all the women in the Elizabethan era should
have. For example in act 1 scene 1, when Baptista asks Bianca to get in, she says, Sir to your
pleasure, humbly I subscribe (1.1.81). This claims that Bianca is a very obedient child since she
said, to your pleasure, respectfully I obey. The way she behaves is the complete opposite of
Katherina who does not listen and obey anyone. In spite of this, Bianca acted like that when her
father was around and he just told her, I will always love you nevertheless, showing great love
for her. Even if she wanted, she would not be able to act disrespectfully since when someone
says something like this, there in no way that person would not listen at that very moment,
especially if he is the person s father. On the contrary, when Bianca s father is not around, she is
less polite and behaves more like her sister. To clarify, when Hortensio and Lucentio, both
disguised as school masters, starts fighting about who is going to teach Bianca at that instant,
Bianca says, To strive for that which resteth in my choice./ I am no breeching scholar in the
schools./ I ll not be tied to hours nor pointed times/ But learn my lessons as I please myself.
(3.1.17 20). This proves that Bianca is really not that obedient and that she acts like a shrew
whenever she wants but just not around her father because she wants to make him proud. As
well, in the quote she says, as I please myself (3.1.20) which sounds exactly like Katherina when
she tells Petruchio that she will not leave until she pleases herself, No, nor tomorrow, not till I
please myself (3.2.182). When Katherina says that, people considered her a shrew because she
was disobedient to a boy and Bianca does the same thing when she does not let the boys order her
around. In short, given that Bianca s father treats her

Indentured Servants Essay
In the seventeenth century, slaves and indentured servants were considered property. The

Case 10: Apple Computer and Steve P. Jobs (2006)
Issue/Problem Identification
1. Apple is known to provide customers with a personal computer revolution that is easy to use
machine. It was founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. Apple was a success at the
beginning period of its production due to marketing and technological innovation and the company
has invented. Apple grew quickly as the development of the products increases and the revenue
continued to grow. Apple s business strategy is to focus its products on differentiation by
providing a unique product that is impossible to clone and charges its products at a premium price.

For Apple to sell its products at a premium price, it must be a trusted and well known brand. As it
is obvious today, Apple has created many loyalty customers.
Recommendations and Implementation
1. In order for Apple to create more revenues and continue to stay in business, Apple s management
team should not only depend on Steve Jobs. The management team must work as a team and make
sure that the company can still be successful without Steve Jobs. It is true that because of Steve
Jobs, Apple has become a successful company but Steve Jobs is not going to be with Apple forever
and the management team must take that into consideration and be able to carry on the business
without Steve Jobs.
2. Some alternatives include developing new products every so often to attract consumers. Apple
is already good at doing this because it is always renovating its products in many different ways
whether it is a Mac Book, an iPod, or an iPad to attract its customers and keeping up with the
society. This alternative is good for both long term and short term. People will continue to trust that
the brand is still attracting.
3. Some of the implementation that should be considered is to hire the right people to work for the
company; people that will bring new ideas to the company. Because Apple is always developing
new products, the company should also continue to ensure that the quality of the

The United States Immigration And Immigrants In The 19th...
The United States immigration and emigration is closely linked to the history of railroads in the
19th century. The construction of the transcontinental railroads that facilitated western expansion
Immigrants were not only integral to part of the expansion, but they also used the railroad to
migrate west and to form new immigrant settlements and territories. In the early 19 century, United
Statesexpanded westward, across the Mississippi
River and later to the Pacific Ocean. These western lands, either was purchased, won in battles, or
seized outright from Indian tribes and other nations. For many years migrants came in search of
wealth and better opportunities and very often clashed either with Mexicans or Indians who
defended their homeland and traditions. From the Louisiana Purchase of 1803 through the
migration that resulted from the Transcontinental Railroad and the Homestead Act, Americans
engaged in what Theodore Roosevelt termed the Great Leap Westward. (Historynet.com). The
settlers were motivated to expand to the west after Meriwether Lewis and William Clark led the
expedition (1804 to 1806) through the Louisiana purchase territory that was acquired from France
in 1803. Their mission was assigned by President Thomas Jefferson with the intention to assess the
land s resources, make diplomatic contact with the Indians, and search for the Northwest Passage, a
route to the Pacific Ocean.

Weyerhaeuser s Performance Management Process
Weyerhaeuser uses a pay for performance system and utilizes a performance management process
(PMP) to evaluate employee s annual performance and that performance rating is used in
calculating the individual s merit pay increase. Over the years, Weyerhaeuser s pay for performance
compensation strategy has undergone several changes and improvements. The company utilizes
merit increases where an individual s yearly increase is based on how well they have performed
against objectives. Performance management is directly tied to compensation in a pay for
performance system and is based on how well an individual performs during the year against
specific, measurable goals is tied to how much they will receive in a merit pay system.
According to Milkovich, Newman and Gerhart (2014, p. 337), a merit pay system links increases
in base pay (called merit increases) to how highly employees are rated on a performance
evaluation. How well your merit pay system works and is seen by the employees as effective, fair,
and a tool to increase motivation and retention is based on how well performance is actually

Essay on Lesson of the Evils of Liquor
A chemistry teacher wanted to teach his 9th grade class a lesson about the evils of liquor, so he
produced an experiment that involved a glass of water, a glass of whiskey, and two worms.
quot; Now, class, observe the worms closely, quot; he said, putting a worm first into the water. The
worm in the water writhed about, happy as a worm in water could be.
The second worm he put into the whiskey. It writhed painfully, and quickly sank to the bottom,
dead as a doornail.
quot; Now, what lesson can we derive from this experiment? quot; the teacher asked.
One of the students raised his hand and wisely, responded, quot;Drink whiskey and you won t get

Porsche s mission, vision and its reputation are clouded after the take over of VW group. VW
group oversaw the take over of other famous brands like, Bentley, Buggati and Lamborghini. Under
the new leadership and direction from the top brass, the first move was to restructure Porsche. The
restructuring saw Porsche s top executives sent to other car brands in VW group to share expertise

i. Potential Entrants
The potential threat of new entrants is low as it costs high when it comes to producing a high
performance car. The barriers to entry present a low threat to Porsche when it comes to a brandthat

research and development, the technology that was hone throughout the years for Porsche and the
Brand recognition that was built throughout the years pose as a difficult and near impossible for
any new brand to come into the market and have such an impact.

As Porsche makes their own engine parts for the Models the only bargaining power that could come
from is from the commodities market that deals with the raw material that Porsche needs. Only the

Coursework Translations depicts the cultural take over of Ireland by the British Empire, yet it
cannot be said to be simply pro Irish. Consider this comment on the play.
The Cultural take over of Ireland by the British Empire is a central issue in Translations. Friel
examines this issue by describing the effects that certain changes have on individual characters;
Irish and
English. One may think a play with this issue could not help being biased towards the Irish.
However, Friel did not wish to write a play about Irish peasants being suppressed by English ...

Hugh refuses to translate the word always for
Maire showing that he is very aware of the change that surrounds the
Irish, believing that it is a silly word under the inconstant circumstances. Therefore his drunken
weakness can be seen as a result of the English colonisation and is pro Irish.
The character of Manus is rather more complicated than that of Hugh and our perception of him
changes as the play develops. During the play Manus refuses to apply for a job at the
international school his father applied for because he felt that he couldn t go up against him .
This enforces Manus loyalty towards his father and perhaps is an indication of Irish faithfulness
compared to English disloyalty; disloyalty which is seen when Yolland explains that his father got
him a job but he missed the boat and, not being able to return home and face him, joined the army.
Yolland also shows disloyalty to his own country and language when he decides that there is no
English equivalent for a sound like Bun na hAbhann and wishes to live in
Ireland because it is heavenly . As an audience, we find ourselves praising Yolland and respecting
him for his capacity to embrace other cultures. We also respect Manus for his sense of duty and
loyalty towards Ireland. Friel plays with our emotions in this way making us hypocritical as

From the Other towards the Subject
A Study of Evelyn Nesbit in Ragtime
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is two fold. I will analyze Evelyn Nesbit s personalities presented in
Ragtime as a recreated character that is not lifted straight from the pages of the history books. With
the concept the Other coined by French feminist writer Simone de Beauvoir in her book about
existentialism, the Second Sex, I would mainly focus on analyzing Nesbit s struggle and try to
prove she eventually changes her position from an Object to a Subject .
Keywords: Ragtime, Feminist existentialism, Evelyn Nesbit
I.Introduction
Ragtime is a historical fiction written by E. L. Doctorow, and it is featured in the fiction and
historical materials combined writing style. With the background set in the period from 1902 to
1912 in New York City and surrounding areas, it presents readers with a decade s American
social costume on the eve of World War I. The novel contains several historical events and
celebrities while some of them were still well known nowadays, such as the financial magnate J.
P. Morgan; the Motor King Henry Ford and The Trail of the Century. Doctorow added three
fictional families as the clue as well as the protagonists in the real historical background to
represent three main types of citizens and their lives. From the different perspectives, Doctorow
shows how politics, economics, and social class deeply impinge on individual lives by applying
the theories of New

and the lens to form a sharp image of the elephant in the retina. The retina is the network of
neurons that cover the back of the eye and contains the visual receptors for a person vision. The
visual receptors are made up of cones and rods that contain light sensitive chemicals called visual
pigments. Visual pigments reacht to light and cause a triggered electrical signals to occur. These
electrical signals will then flow through a network of neurons and this network of neurons is what
makes up a persons retina. After the flow through the network of neurons occurs the electrical
signals will emerge from the back of the eye in the area

agent that holds the bread together. Kneading creates the strands of gluten, of which creates texture
and elasticity.
7.Proving is the necessary stage prior to baking, allowing the dough to rise and leaven. Proving is

The term Viking is essentially defined as a person who lurks in a vik or bay. The name Viking
was given to those of a Scandinavian race, who became known for their raids and settlements of
Europe between the years of 700 and 1100. Stereotypically, Vikings are habitually referred to or
regarded as barbarians, heathens and savage north men with no concept of Christian integrity, they
were considered as lacking reputable mannerisms and their presence in Englandwas that of a
punishment by the Lord himself. In this essay I will be exploring the Vikings impact on the history

Patriarchy In India
All over the world, 8th March is celebrated as International Women s Day. In fact, gender equality
is proclaimed as fundamental right by the United Nations Charter in 1945. However, the status of
women is not at par with that of men in India. Ages have come and go, but the plight of women is
not likely to change. From aeons, time has helplessly watched excesses done on women in the form
of discrimination, oppression, exploitation, degradation, and humiliation etc. genderbased
discrimination represents the ugly face of the society. This is global issue with varying degrees
and India is not an exception to it, especially Haryanawhere it s a patriarchy society.
Patriarchy is social organization has been the dominant reality to define the nature of gender
relations in human society that rendered it male centric in most parts of the world since the dawn of
human civilization. Much has changed since the primitive times but the male dominated ethos still
holds sway. In spite of all the advances made in the field of woman emancipation, male hegemony is
still the dominant reality.1
Haryana is primarily an agrarian society and its towns too are like villages with modern facilities.
In male dominated social ethos, the quest for a male child is incessant while the female child is
treated as a curse. Haryana folklore crudely depicts female child as highly unwanted. The mindset
is reflected in the declining social status of women in Haryana.2

Life Lessons Learned
What s a lesson you have learned in your life? Well, you have probably learned more than one
lesson in your life, and I definitely learn lessons everyday, but one that has stuck with me is that
Jesus is the only perfect person, and that I shouldn t feel like I am lacking perfection, because it
isn t possible. I can still strive for it, but I won t get all the way there. Some people may find that
discouraging, but I find that an encouragement. That is because I know that when I fail, I will
know that I almost did something impossible. Other people might see that I m saying that they will
fail, and they will. The truth can hurt, but I am (mostly) an honest person. I wouldn t lie about this,
and you just need to accept it, no one can be perfect, only Jesus. Reading the Holy Biblehas taught
me many things. One of my favorite verses is 2 Samuel 22:31, As for God, his way is perfect; the
LORD S word is flawless; he shields all that take refuge in him. I had a bad day, and opened to a
random verse, and found this. One day in fourth grade we had SBAC testing and I had decided
to take my Bible to school to read after I finished, seeing as I usually finished before the end of
the day. It was a little bit after 10 o clock, and Mr. Porter had given us a break. I was by myself
sitting in the grass near the backstop on the west side of the field. I was having a bad day, being
told I was worthless, so I took my Bible outside and opened my Bible to a random place and
started reading. I smelled the grass and felt it under me. The warm May air hugged me like a
comforting parent. The grass was slightly wet and the book was heavy in my my hands, the
design on the front cover was cool under my fingertips. My fuzzy jacket and sweatpants against
my waist and legs. I heard the kids playing around me and the wind whistling through my ears.
The pages are thin in my hands as I open to a random place and start reading, seeing only the
words. I hear a whistle blown by Mr. Porter, and stand up, feeling the familiar tingle when my legs
have fallen asleep.
Have you ever gone to summer camp? Well, if you haven t, I would suggest it. It is a few in a
lifetime chance, and it can change your life. I went to a christian summer camp at

  • 2. Myers-Briggs Test Learning how to socialize in big groups and thinking before acting can take you further in life rather than the other way around. The purpose of the Myers Briggs test is to indicate your personality type by using four scales. The four scales are 1. extroversion/introversion 2.sensate /intuitive, 3. thinking/feeling 4. judging/ perceiving. According to the test, I scored higher of extroversion like than introversion. I also I scored higher in thinking rather than feeling. In other words, using my head other than my heart. Being an extrovert comes with having high energy and the love of being around large crowds. Which I can say fits my personality perfectly. Also, I think about situations in the long run before automatically acting off my immediate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Running against me for the same position in office was a girl by the name of Rachel Monroe. She had more experience than me because she has been in ASB all four years and won each position she ran for and she was the vice president the previous year. She was tough competition but I knew if I stayed focus and stuck to what I originally had planned I would be fine. Rachel went first, she had a great plan of what she wanted to do for the upcoming school year but the only thing about her speech is that it was dry, as in it felt like she talked forever, even though each speech had a time limit of five to seven minutes. It was my turn, I told myself to Stay focused Kishawn and I will receive the position that I desired. That is exactly what I did presenting my speech with putting my personality all throughout the speech because I know how to use my personality and comedy I had the audience laughing with tasteful jokes that I had in my speech but making sure my plans for upcoming school year was believable and clear. I felt that I got a positive reaction from the one s who were deciding who would get the position. At the end of the week, there was an ASB meeting announcing the winning candidates. I was nervous but I knew I did my best. The meeting started at three o clock, not a minute early nor a minute late. You can see nervous faces all around the room. I made casual conversation with the ones around me to cut the tension. Announcing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Naturalism In Long Day s Journey Into The Night The trope of naturalism in western theater have readdressed the form of dramatic arts from the royal narrative and biblical tales to stories of commoners that the audience can actually relate to. Naturalism also allows the distinction of tragedy and comedy to dissipate by developing a plot that focuses on a day to day occurrence. This convention is represented by playwrights who are writing in a more colloquial voice with stories about the middle class or working class, and their struggles. Naturalism gave birth to the works of Eugene O Neill and Edward Albee that pushes the nuance of dysfunctionality and addiction to its extreme in works such as Long Day s Journey Into The Night and Who s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. The two playwrights zoom in towards a domestic issue that were driven a lot by each character s desire for happiness and the disappointment that are not being expressed appropriately that drove them to an addiction as form of escape from the reality. The two plays place a tragic maternal figure who escapes their unachievable idea of happiness through a facade of lies in the forefront of the narrative. In Long Day s Journey Into The Night, Mary Tyrone s ideal happiness comes from her sense of nostalgia and what defined her happiness when she married Tyrone while Martha s imaginary son and her inability to face the reality of a dull life of being married to a university professor are what became of her tragic downfall at the end of Who s Afraid of Virginia ... She said she has the right to be there at the AA meeting because the Borough of Shenandoah has her listed as an alcoholic. I asked why she didn t leave after he asked her to and she first said because she has the right to be there and later saying she wanted to get the old coffee grounds. • 5. Community Is Unity It s The Foundation For All The People Community is unity it s people coming together as one to support different ideologies and to create a sense of togetherness in a group. Community is important because it s the foundation for all the people that live in it. Without that sense of unity and togetherness there will be disfunction not only within that community but with the people that reside in that community. There is a relationship between the people and the community because the people are what make that community either prosper or become dysfunctional. For example if a community is dysfunctional it s because the people within that community are not coming together to create that sense of unity. In order for a community to be vibrant and prosper the people within it have to seek each other out and create that bond, that sense of wholeness which will then make that community be vibrant and not dysfunctional. A community being vibrant or dysfunctional is based on the people, individuals are shaped by the community in which they live in based off how that community is set up. Meaning if the community is not stable it will reflect through the people and vice versa. Within my community I play the role of being a leader, this is important because no matter the form of community my presence helps create that sense of unity and leadership.A community being vibrant and dysfunctional is all dependent on the people. If a community is vibrant it s because of the unity and togetherness ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is more of a requirement now as students are being given greater opportunities within their course due to the new resources being put into psychology departments. Part of this means that students are now able to conduct their own research within the third year of their degree, meaning they need a deep level of understanding for statistics in order to accumulate adequate conclusions from their results. Precision teaching (PT) has proved to be an effective tool when aiming to teach students material fluently and accurately. Lindsley (1990) showed that students in precision teaching classrooms who were told to keep records of their own academic and non academic performance and use these records to guide their performance and eventually lead to more academic success due to the visual representation they had. This element of precision teaching is particularly useful as learners who improve this way are susceptible to fluency based procedures which often consist of SAFMEDS or packs of cards similar to this. SAFMEDS are typically used to help students become fluent in definitions and basic concepts, in this experiment they are being used to improve a base of knowledge on research methods within psychology. ... Test scores, GPA, and class rank matter more than ever before, and have a massive impact on our chances of getting into the school or job that is desired. These numbers should not define people for a multitude of reasons. The standardized teststhat are required of all students is not an accurate reflection on that student s ability to succeed in an actual working environment, hazardous health effects, and the fact that students are haunted by a huge pressure defined by their family and society that they must get a certain class rank or their entire future is out the window. Some teachers offer a lot of opportunities to significantly boost a student s grade while others are very strict about how they grade, for example, Student A is the exact same as Student B, but one of them has a significantly higher GPA because they won the teacher lottery. Until last year a lot of the computer in Plano ISD were probably older than the students using them, this brings up another major inequality. America is a very diverse country in many ways, one of these is income inequality. Many poorer communities around the country are severely under equipped in terms of courses available, technology used by students, and student to teacher ratio. • 9. Facilitators In William Shakespeare s Richard II Shakespeare s Richard II is a play which depicts the last few years of England s King Richard s rule. John of Gaunt, who is the 1st Duke of Lancaster and Richard s uncle, is a sick and dying man who believes men of his situation as great counsel to the youth. Oh, but they say the tongues of dying men enforce attention like deep harmony (Act 2, Scene 1, 39). Shakespeare uses Gaunt as the introductory facilitator for his metaphoric description of England as a garden, where Richard is described as the royal gardener who is mismanaging the garden; lending to the second fall of humanity through the loss of what is an imaginary Eden. It is Gaunt s hope that Richard will listen to the advice he has to offer from his deathbed, but Duke of York doubts he will. Instead, York is of the opinion, Richard listens only to those whom flatterer him and that his taste for luxury is overwhelming. Gaunt insists that Richard s reign will not last long; giving a speech in praise of England... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The West Memphis Three Analysis Mackenzie Milner Ms. Whitford ENGL 101 29 November 2016 The West Memphis Three There are many movies we can watch and not give a second thought about, except when we see those few little words based on a true story. There is something about these movies that put a deeper chill in our bones. The movie Devil s Knot may be based on a true story, but viewers are not fascinated about the mystery of the crime and neither are the countless documentarians on the case. Viewers are interested and overwhelmed by the injustice done to the young teenagers, practically children themselves, who were made scapegoats by their own community because they were simply different. They used radar/microwave radiometer aboard NASA s Cassini spacecraft, which revealed a turbulent atmosphere that has many similarities with Jupiter than previously realized. The new observations reveal a calm and narrow equatorial belt surrounded by stormy bands just like on Jupiter. Recently generated global microwave maps of Saturn exposed detail of a mostly stable atmospheric environment. There were some unpredicted diversity, including arid, desert like patches in Saturn s atmosphere. The photo I chose is of a massive storm on Saturn in its north polar region. In false color the storm looks like a deep rose color, which aids in seeing the details of this storm. A measuring of the eye is a staggering 1,250 miles across. Cloud speeds reach as fast as 330 miles per hour. This photo is truly amazing because it really shows one of the reasons why Saturn is so fascinating. Cultural Impacts Of Globalization ABSTRACT Globalization can be defined as a system of interaction or increasing global relationships between cultures, people, and economic activities among the countries of the world. Globalization in its simpler form refers to conglomerate exchange of languages, ideas, and cultures. Behaviour or impacts of Globalization differ from country to country having a demarcation between developed countries like Britain and developing countries. Some critics allege that it has been footing down the cultural values and increasing conflicts between two nations. Globalization is a double edged sword as it impacts and affects all generations of people, economically, politically, environmentally, and culturally. While Globalization has its benefits millions of people around the world are now more empowered because of global interconnectedness there are still many problems that can and already have risen from cultural and economic development around the world KEYWORDS: globalisation, environment, opportunity. The film adaptation of the play Glengarry Glen Rosswritten by David Mamet, illustrates how salesmen are able to convince other groups of people that they know what is in the best interest of their customers by each salesman s particular word choice and speech. The fear of breaking the sound barrier was finally removed in 1947, when the Captain Yaeger flew the Bell X 1 at a speed slightly above Mach 1 for few seconds, producing the famous and long awaited sonic boom(caused by an impulsive pressure change created by the sonic waves detaching from the aircraft), music for the scientists attending that historical moment, but current nightmare for the 21st Century supersonicvehicles designers [8]. Although the large bomber implemented the supersonic efficient area ruling design first introduced by Whitcomb (mid 1950s [1]) and therefore it could deliver a nuclear payload cruising at Mach 2 for about two hours, the light and thin wings, designed for high altitude flight and inefficient close to the ground at subsonic speed, highlighted a new set of primary technical challenges to be addressed by a commercial SST: the realization satisfactory structural design, the optimization of the wing aerodynamics for subsonic flow, and related to the last point, the improvement of takeoff and landing performance. • 19. Character Analysis Of Gerta In A Night Divided In the beginning of the book A Night Divided, Gerta was physically described as a twelve year old girl with blond hair. She was also described as having round eyes, with a warm brown tone. Her body was athletic and fit although, by the end of the book she had become really skinny almost as if she had been starving. Gerta was always described as outspoken, passionate, and a risk taker. For example, in the book when Gerta and her brother were almost done with the tunnel, the tunnel began to collapse, her brother insisted to let it collapse however Gerta never gave up on building the tunnel. This is an example of Gerta being a risk taker and showing determination on not giving up. Another scene from the book is when Gerta s only best friend goes to talk to her when she is building the tunnel, but Gerta impulsively tells her that she doesn t want to be her friend anymore because she wants to be alone and finish the tunnel to get to her father. Gerta s family consists of five people not including Gerta; those people are her mom, dad, two brothers, and grandma. Her mom is named Catherina, her dad s name is Aldous Lowe, her oldest brother is named Fritz, her younger brother s name is Dominic and her grandmother s name is Oma Gertrude. One of these is through explicative contrast from fairly comparable methodologies. The expression Conversation Analysis is at this point solidly settled as the name for a specific worldview in the investigation of verbal communication that was started in the 1960s by Harvey Sacks, as a team with Emanuel Schegloff and Gail Jefferson. In Conversation Analysis the attention is on the procedural examination of talk in cooperation, how members deliberately sort out their connections to take care of a scope of authoritative issues, for example, the dispersion of turns at talking, the community oriented creation of specific activities, or issues of comprehension. The investigation is constantly in view of sound or visual recordings of collaboration, which are precisely interpreted in subtle elements. The exploration ought to be data driven, as in ideas and speculations ought to be founded on watchful thoughts of the information, recordings and transcripts, as opposed to drawn from hypothetical assumptions or ideological inclinations. The effect on the GDP of increasing domestic energy production depends on what assumptions go into this. The easiest assumption is that the increase in domestic production will result in an equivalent reduction in imports. This would result in no net change to the GDP. However, with domestic production all of the value that goes into that production would stay in the country, whereas with imports some of the value of that production goes outside the country. For example, the cost of barrel of foreign oil includes factors like shipping costs and producer markups that inflate the cost of the imports. In all likelihood, domestic energy sources, if viable, would be most cost effective. Under that assumption, M would decrease faster than I would increase. Thus, there would be a net gain to the GDP from switching to domestic energy production. Inflation 1. 111/106 = 4.7% 2. 234/217 = 7.8% Unemployment 1. 2500 / 30,000 = 8.33% 2. 2500 / (30,000 500) = 8.47% Yield Curve 1.b.Maturity risk premiums. • 25. A Brief Note On The Civil Service System Civil service systems are designed to hire and promote members of the bureaucracy on the basis of merit. The merit principle is the idea that hiring should be based on entrance exams and promotion ratings to reward qualified individuals to produce an administration of skilled and talented people. All civil servant applicants must pass an exam that measures skills related to the particular civil serviceposition they hope to fill. Some civil service exams are general and apply to a wide range of jobs, whereas others are focused on a particular type of job. I do not see how a merit exam can truly show how successful a potential civil servant would be performing in a particular position. An exam may be able to measure the extent of their paper knowledge on the position, but does not reflect how well a civil servant would be able to apply their knowledge to their job. Standardized tests are often frowned upon in public schools, with some politicians and scholars arguing that standardized tests measure how well a student can take the test, and does not measure how much he or she has learned. The same applies to these merit exams. I do not believe that a potential bureaucrat should earn their governmentposition through entrance exams. The exam does not measure how successful a bureaucrat would be at performing their job, but rather measures their test taking abilities. With an increase in the size and population of the city a individual s anonymity increased as well. Both the Paris Morgue and the novella Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde written by Robert Lewis Stevenson portray the anonymity of modern city life. While middle class men often appreciated the anonymity of the city, because it allowed them to escape social class restrictions, they also feared some of the negative implications. The working class, on the other hand, might have enjoyed the new found entertainment options, however they also had to fear being victims of crime and ending as nameless corpses. Women, both from the middle class and working class, experienced more freedom through the entertainment and leisure time options available due to the anonymous character of the city. For the middle class man the anonymity of the city promised freedom from social restrictions, that hindered him from behaving in ways that were unseeming for a man of his standing. (2011) nursemanagers are working together with other staff members in forming a committee called the Nursing Productivity Committee (NPC), which helps to implement safe staffing strategies to ensure best possible patient outcome and improve nurse satisfaction. • 34. Gypsy Rose Lee Research Paper Gypsy Rose Lee will always be remembered through the musical hit Gypsy, composed by Stephen Sondheim and Jule Styne. The most important character which carries the musical all the way to the end is Gypsy s mother Mama Rose. The musical has come back to Broadway many times in different forms Today s most recent version of Gypsy is the 2008 musical featuring Patti Lu Pone as Mama Rose. Patti blows most of the past performers out of the water. But Ethel Merman will always be remembered as the original Mama Rose. • 35. Evolution Vs. Fossil Records Evolution has been a widely known discussion that many people have had over the past century, the theory of evolution has been welcomed by many scientists yet by some religious people it has been a taboo topic. The thought or the motion to entertain that humans evolved from primates is what some people would shudder and state that it goes against all their religious beliefs. However, scientist have pushed on the fact that evolutionis not just a hypothetical or an outlandish theory but a theory that has multiple hard evidence to back it and that to ignore is ignorance and just plain stupidity. Four types of evidence of evolution are fossil records, genetic changes, the geographic distribution of species, and the similarities in embryos of species. One of the evidences of evolution is fossil records, with fossil records being the remains of plants and animals that scientist have found in sedimentary rocks. Fossil records have given us irrefutable evidence of evolution in the past, over a course of a long period of time, proving there is significant variation amongst living things. Evolution is a continuum; all the minor changes over a period of time add up to a major change. On the continuum, fossils are the points that displaying what the organism had become after evolving at that stage in time. Although fossil records are substantial evidence for evolution there are gaps in the fossil records due to the fact of incompletion of the collecting data. As evolution is ... • 36. Classroom Observation In The Classroom On September 13th, 2017 I observed Chef Holman at Murray Calloway County Area Tech Center. I first met principal, Dan Hicks, he showed us the facility and gave us an overview of all programs offered at the school. Before this observation I did not know that culinary was a program offered at an area tech center. During my observationI used the domains of the Danielson Framework for teaching observation. I also learned many new ideas and I plan to apply them to my future classroom. For this observation I specifically observed for domains 2c: Managing Classroom Procedures and 2e: Organizing Physical Space. For 2c: Managing Classroom Procedures, I looked for little instructional time that was lost due to routines, procedures, transitions, and handling of supplies. Chef Holman said to keep the students attention she tries to keep her lectures under 20 minutes so she can quickly transition the students into the kitchen. Her transition was different than what I would have done as the teacher. Once lecture was over she released them into the kitchen, verses where I would have gone into the kitchen and demonstrated techniques to successfully complete the recipe. When I am a teacher I plan to show my students how to properly prepare food by using lecture time and hands on demonstration time. One way I found there was some hands on instruction loss in her second block was when she did not thoroughly explain the recipe. The students had to come ask her questions and stop their progress in the kitchen. I liked the suggestion Chef Holman made regarding designating certain days of the week to cooking and others to lecture. This allows the students to get used to a routine and optimize their time spent in the classroom so no instruction time is lost. I also liked Chef Holman s teaching strategy of teaching the basics first. In my classroom when I am a teacher I want to start out with the very basics because every student comes from a different back ground, you don t know what they have or have not learned at home. I learned that you do not assume students know how to do something. You need to explain everything step by step so students fully understand what is expected of them. All the characters in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof have experienced mendacity and disgust. For mendacity, we had all but Big Daddy, Big Mama, and Brick lie about Big Daddy s sickness. They, as in Margaret, Mae, Reverend Tooker, and Gooper, said it was a spastic colon and not cancer, but it was truthfully malignant cancer (Brick did not know for a while that it was a lie). This is something that angers and disgusts Big Daddy when he found out from Brick by accident. It was something he was not expecting and resulted in his growing resentment for the others. Disgust can be seen in Gooper also. When he learns that Big Daddy will most likely be giving his twenty eight thousand acre plantation to Brick, Gooper was appalled. He tells her that he never loved her, that she never loved him, and that it was all just a lie. This also brought disgust to Big Mama because she could not comprehend it, which was why she left crying. Brick was a major character that experienced mendacity and disgust. Skipper and Brick had a clean and close friendship. The relationship Brick had with Skipper was something Brick was truly happy with. It ruined him learning that Skipper was a homosexual man and had slept with his wife one time. He felt disgusted with the mendacity found in their friendship. However they do not expect anything to happen and believe that everything is going to be fine. Unfortunately they do not realize how wrong they are. The way someone is treated will always affect and reflect their behaviour. Through Katherina s reaction when people call her a shrew and treat her like a foolish girl, the way Katherina reacts when Baptista shows favoritism towards Bianca, and by the way Bianca acts around her father, The Taming of the Shrewby William Shakespeare strengthen the idea that Individuals behave differently depending upon the way they are approached. To begin with, around her father, Binaca acts like all the women in the Elizabethan era should have. For example in act 1 scene 1, when Baptista asks Bianca to get in, she says, Sir to your pleasure, humbly I subscribe (1.1.81). This claims that Bianca is a very obedient child since she said, to your pleasure, respectfully I obey. The way she behaves is the complete opposite of Katherina who does not listen and obey anyone. In spite of this, Bianca acted like that when her father was around and he just told her, I will always love you nevertheless, showing great love for her. Even if she wanted, she would not be able to act disrespectfully since when someone says something like this, there in no way that person would not listen at that very moment, especially if he is the person s father. On the contrary, when Bianca s father is not around, she is less polite and behaves more like her sister. To clarify, when Hortensio and Lucentio, both disguised as school masters, starts fighting about who is going to teach Bianca at that instant, Bianca says, To strive for that which resteth in my choice./ I am no breeching scholar in the schools./ I ll not be tied to hours nor pointed times/ But learn my lessons as I please myself. (3.1.17 20). This proves that Bianca is really not that obedient and that she acts like a shrew whenever she wants but just not around her father because she wants to make him proud. As well, in the quote she says, as I please myself (3.1.20) which sounds exactly like Katherina when she tells Petruchio that she will not leave until she pleases herself, No, nor tomorrow, not till I please myself (3.2.182). Kneading creates the strands of gluten, of which creates texture and elasticity. 7.Proving is the necessary stage prior to baking, allowing the dough to rise and leaven. Proving is considered an essential step in the fermentation process sanctioning the yeast to form carbon dioxide and inflate the dough. 8.Bread is referred to as the staff of life due to the availability and continuous historical use. • 55. Viking Impact On Northern England The term Viking is essentially defined as a person who lurks in a vik or bay. The name Viking was given to those of a Scandinavian race, who became known for their raids and settlements of Europe between the years of 700 and 1100. Stereotypically, Vikings are habitually referred to or regarded as barbarians, heathens and savage north men with no concept of Christian integrity, they were considered as lacking reputable mannerisms and their presence in Englandwas that of a punishment by the Lord himself. In this essay I will be exploring the Vikings impact on the history and identity of Northern England. It is significant to note that the modern perception of what is Northern England differs to that of the Northern England during the era of Scandinavian raids, and that the amount of evidence available is primarily of English origin. Despite this,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is documented in the Anglo Saxon chronicle, that on June 8th c.793 the Vikings made their first raid on Britain, coming ashore to Northumbria and sacking Lindisfarne, a sacred Christian site. • 56. Patriarchy In India All over the world, 8th March is celebrated as International Women s Day. In fact, gender equality is proclaimed as fundamental right by the United Nations Charter in 1945. However, the status of women is not at par with that of men in India. Ages have come and go, but the plight of women is not likely to change. From aeons, time has helplessly watched excesses done on women in the form of discrimination, oppression, exploitation, degradation, and humiliation etc. genderbased discrimination represents the ugly face of the society. This is global issue with varying degrees and India is not an exception to it, especially Haryanawhere it s a patriarchy society. Patriarchy is social organization has been the dominant reality to define the nature of gender relations in human society that rendered it male centric in most parts of the world since the dawn of human civilization. Much has changed since the primitive times but the male dominated ethos still holds sway. In spite of all the advances made in the field of woman emancipation, male hegemony is still the dominant reality.1 Haryana is primarily an agrarian society and its towns too are like villages with modern facilities. In male dominated social ethos, the quest for a male child is incessant while the female child is treated as a curse. Haryana folklore crudely depicts female child as highly unwanted. The mindset is reflected in the declining social status of women in Haryana.2 Magnitude of female foeticide in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 57. Life Lessons Learned What s a lesson you have learned in your life? Well, you have probably learned more than one lesson in your life, and I definitely learn lessons everyday, but one that has stuck with me is that Jesus is the only perfect person, and that I shouldn t feel like I am lacking perfection, because it isn t possible. I can still strive for it, but I won t get all the way there. Some people may find that discouraging, but I find that an encouragement. That is because I know that when I fail, I will know that I almost did something impossible. Other people might see that I m saying that they will fail, and they will. The truth can hurt, but I am (mostly) an honest person. I wouldn t lie about this, and you just need to accept it, no one can be perfect, only Jesus. Reading the Holy Biblehas taught me many things. One of my favorite verses is 2 Samuel 22:31, As for God, his way is perfect; the LORD S word is flawless; he shields all that take refuge in him. I had a bad day, and opened to a random verse, and found this. One day in fourth grade we had SBAC testing and I had decided to take my Bible to school to read after I finished, seeing as I usually finished before the end of the day. It was a little bit after 10 o clock, and Mr. Porter had given us a break. I was by myself sitting in the grass near the backstop on the west side of the field. I was having a bad day, being told I was worthless, so I took my Bible outside and opened my Bible to a random place and started reading. I smelled the grass and felt it under me. The warm May air hugged me like a comforting parent. The grass was slightly wet and the book was heavy in my my hands, the design on the front cover was cool under my fingertips. My fuzzy jacket and sweatpants against my waist and legs. I heard the kids playing around me and the wind whistling through my ears. The pages are thin in my hands as I open to a random place and start reading, seeing only the words. I hear a whistle blown by Mr. Porter, and stand up, feeling the familiar tingle when my legs have fallen asleep. Have you ever gone to summer camp? Well, if you haven t, I would suggest it. It is a few in a lifetime chance, and it can change your life. I went to a christian summer camp at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
