The document discusses the case of Genie Wiley, a girl who was severely socially isolated until age 13. When discovered, she was treated more like a research project than a child, being passed between researchers without developing strong bonds. A lack of findings resulted in her care being pulled, sending her back to her unable mother and then into unstable foster homes where she experienced further abuse and neglect. This caused Genie to regress and stop talking again after making progress with researchers. Overall, the document suggests Genie's situation as a research subject may have interrupted her recovery process.

Essay 123
1. Comparing Ligua's And Mary
Brilliant post Alisi, We need diversity in every organization. I can totally relate to both cases
coming from Ligua's situation as an immigrant like us compared to Mary as a caucasian white
and privileged. The country we were living in, is a foundation of immigrants, who strive hard to
better their life and achieve their dreams. The case studies Ligua's and Mary explains reality and its
not a fiction. On the other hand, Michael could blend in everywhere he goes since his country of
origin is unidentifiable and he use this to his advantage. The lesson i learn form differentiating each
case would contribute towards my management skills and one day I can use this to help manage my
followers. Thank you,

With extensive studies, many treatments have been discovered in order to preclude serious
intellectual and psychological consequences from occurring on patients with PKU. These treatments
are developed from various aspects of the disease including dietary restriction, BH4 cofactor
treatment, gene therapy, enzyme therapy, enzyme replacement by transplantation, and large neutral
amino acid therapy. Even though, current treatments cannot make PKU become curable, they give
doctors ability to well–manage the disease and make it become treatable.
Dietary Restriction Therapy:
Low phenylalanine containing diet is the first treatment of PKU, and this is applied for all of PKU
patients. It has been demonstrated that low phenylalanine concentration in daily meals can
effectively prevent mental retardation in PKU patients, especially in newborns (Knox, 1960). The
major point of this treatment is to offer PKU patients with very low phenylalanine diets, and all of
protein–rich and aspartame containing foods and drinks should be avoided. Aspartame is an
artificial sweetener that can be converted into phenylalanine following ingestion, so it must be
avoided from the diet of PKU patients (Williams, Mamotte & Burnett, 2008). Since PKU develops
very early after birth, this treatment is applied immediately after conformation of the disease in an
infant. For older kids, the amount of daily ingested protein is calculated each day regarding how
severe PKU of the patient. Although this method can

3. Ordinary Short Story
Bill was an ordinary short guy. One day he was walking down the street wishing that he could do
something useful, when he noticed a teenage girl being mugged in an alleyway. He looked for
somebody to help her. He was alone. He turned back around and a glimmer caught his eye. It was a
glass shard in the trashcan. He picked it up and snuck up on the two brutish men who sat there
tantalizing the woman. Then he jumped up and stabbed one of the men in the neck and as the other
man turned Bill kicked him and sliced open the brutes forehead. The woman was rushedly calling the
police and Bill realized his life wasn't so pointless after

5. Hermann Rorschach
Hermann Rorschach a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst created the controversial Rorschach
inkblot test in 1921 to measure or detect underlying thought disorders, social behaviour and
personality characteristics such as such as people with schizophrenia or other mental disorders. I
have collected a few examples of different inkblot test for instance, different patterns, choice of
colours and computerized effects on top of some of the inkblot to create an image. I like how
simple, effective and creative the design for the one you can see either a bird, plane or superhero. I

6. The Overachievers Analysis
Psst... What's the answer to number four?" High school students hear things such as this all too
much."We live in the Age of Comparison. Too often, we deem our own achievements worthless if
they fall short of others' standards. Our best isn't good enough if it's not as good as someone else's
best" Alexandra Robbins, The Overachievers: The Secret Lives of Driven Kids. It is this type of
elitist thinking that compels so many young students to copy work from pers or "cheat". It is my
belief that all work requires original thoughts to complete it. Why is cheating wrong? It provides an
unfair advantage to students, hinders all learning opportunities, and clouds your character with
academic dishonesty. It is these reasons that

7. Coordinate Transformation Research Paper
Hello everyone, I guess most of us has struggled once with the coordinate system that PeГ±asquito
uses (a modified UTM Zone 14, NAD 27 coordinate system), which prevent us to do basic tasks
like adding place marks in Google Earth (UTM WGS84). In view of this, I took the spreadsheet
Ben Schmidt provided me with for coordinate transformation and prepared a friendly
self–explanatory spreadsheet that should allow anybody to transform coordinates from Mine to
UTM or vice versa with minimum instruction. All you should do is to select the right sheet
(UTM_to_Mine or Mine_to_UTM), input your coordinates and click on "Transform!" Please let
find attached the spreadsheet that will make our lives easier and let me know of any inquiry

8. Mr. Halloway's Something Wicked This Way Comes
The morals of the book Something Wicked This Way Comes speaks volumes about life's choices. "Is
death important? No. Everything that happens before death is what counts." reflected the older man.
A father of a thirteen–year–old boy at the age of fifty–four is Charles Haloway. Caught in the fiction
that his age denied him the right to be a father, Charles, henceforth distanced himself from his son.
In the conclusion of the book, Charles realizes that growing old does not act as a hindrance; you
propel yourself downward. By reclaiming the position of control in his life, Mr. Halloway did not
give in to his physical growth. Altogether, Charles Halloway begins to create all of the things that
were missing in his

9. Writing A Thesis Statement
Chapter three explains what a thesis is, gives examples, and informs where the thesis can be located
in an essay. A thesis is summarized in one or two sentences as the main point, main idea or
controlling idea stated in an essay. Some thesis statements are directly stated, implied or suggested.
The writer needs to relate their thoughts about the essay to their thesis, because the thesis directs and
controls the decisions made about the way you write your essay. As you get into more depth of your
essay maybe consider adjusting the thesis statement to your new idea. The thesis statement should be
general. A thesis statement is a claim that can be supported by evidence, but it is not a

10. John Howard's Ten-Point Plan
As of the pressure being built up from pastoralist and mining companies, John Howard's
Liberal–National Party introduced the 'Ten–Point Plan' in May of 1997. The government promoted
the plan as clear and simple solution to 'problems' faced by the industry because of the native title.
However, it found to be more problematic and demanding than it first imagined. The Howard
Government wanted to clarify to the Aboriginals what grants and rights they had over the land. By
doing so, this reduced the amount of native title land that could be claimed by Aboriginals and
Torres Strait Islander people. This meant that the Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders had to deal
with limitations on their ability to negotiate with industries, mining companies

11. Essay On English 123
English 123 is a requirement for almost all majors, including mine. To meet this requirement, I was
given a choice a take English Composition CLEP and English 123. I decided to take this course
with the hope to improve my writing and critical thinking skills. Even though it was hard to take an
English class on deployment, I am very glad that I took it. My time is well spent on this course.
Among many things, I learned out of this course, here are a three outcome that is worth mentioning.
First, responding orally and in writing to evaluate, analyze, and critically assess the ideas and
meaning of diverse texts. Second, making appropriate rhetorical decisions to achieve the purpose of
a written work, based on an understanding of ethical issues and underlying assumptions and values in
the argument. Third, demonstrating understanding of the interdependent relationship of reading,
writing, and thinking and reflect on their thinking as part of a larger community of thinkers.
I learned how to respond orally and in writing to evaluate, analyze, and critically assess the ideas
and meaning of diverse texts by composing summary and strong response, and exploratory research
paper. Summary and strong response paper taught me how to be firm and fair way to thinking. This
is very useful at work. I can use this to improve my...show more content...

14. 123 Test Reflection
For the 123 Test, my results showed that my openness to experience is low, my conscientiousness
is very low, my extraversion is very low, my agreeableness is high, and my natural reactions are
very high. The descriptions given to me included down–to–earth, spontaneous, reserved,
compassionate, and prone to worry. I think that the test describes me pretty well, however I feel that
my score on conscientiousness should have at least been in the mid range. I also think that the test
is valid and tests what it is supposed to. I don't think the test is reliable in the sense that a person can
choose whatever choice they want. I also think that sometimes a person may make different choices,
especially on questions that were harder for the test taker to answer.
My score on the Psychology Today test gave me a 47 on a scale of 100 for my success orientation.

I feel that these scores pretty much match how I actually am. I think I am a bit more organized than
the test concluded but the other results were pretty accurate. I think that the test is valid in what it
wanted to test, however like the other tests, I think that the reliability is low because sometimes
people's answers can change on a day–to–day basis for some of the questions. I think that the three
tests supported some of the thoughts that I already had about my personality. The 123 Test and
the Big Five test were pretty accurate, however I did not agree with the description given for the
Psychology Today test. I think that the test was not beneficial because it gave a score that was only
based on scoring above or below the 50th percentile. That means that scores like mine that were at
47 were not as accurate to my actual personality as they could

16. Delegation In Health Care
I feel like you made some really good decisions in this week's discussion post. How a registered
nurse delegates tasks to those on her floor can either make or break patient satisfaction.
"Delegation provides a means of increasing unit productivity. It is also a managerial tool for
subordinate accomplishment and enrichment" (Marquis & Huston, 2015, p. 480). Learning more
about delegation this week really opened my eyes to how hard it can be. I feel like in a large
hospital I would go crazy trying to assign everyone the proper jobs. The role of delegating is not a
job for everyone, but it definitely is a job that needs to be done right so a facility can function
properly and give great care.

17. Pronged Thesis
Good essay, all 12 sentences are numbered, the introduction is clear, and you let the reader know
the topic of the essay right away. The three pronged thesis are mentioned in sentence # 2 along
with an opinion. Also the three supporting paragraphs are coherent; however, in sentence # 3, you
are not supporting the pronged thesis about attending college like you did in sentence # 6 and # 9.
In regards the grammar, the word "chose" in sentence # 11 needs to be replaced by "choose". About
punctuation, you missed a comma in sentence # 3. And finally, I would not use "in conclusion" as
part of the closing sentence; maybe some other transition, a little more smoother. I hope this

Genie Wiley
After she was found Genie was treated like a research project rather than a child. She was still
passed around from researcher to researcher meaning it was unlikely she developed strong bonds.
Because of lack of findings, care from the researchers was pulled. This meant she went back to her
unable mother.
Genie quickly ended up in foster homes, moving rapidly throughout where she was often further
abused or neglected. After her time in foster care, Genie regressed to not talking. Her time in foster
care was so awful she did not want to open her mouth again. The researchers almost interrupted her
recovery and even though they helped her for a period, replaced her into a stressful and abusive
situation.

19. Pros And Cons Of Working In High School
I am going to tell you 3 pros and 3 cons that affect students the most while working high school.
Students can gain interpersonal and communication skills. Learning how to effectively communicate
and work with others towards a common goal can be very helpful when students get older. In most
jobs, you will be one member of a group. Regardless of whether this be your colleagues, or your
representatives, you should use relational abilities both to save the congruity of the working
environment and to guarantee that they achieve their objectives and targets.
Also, having a job in high schools helps students build their resume early. For the vast majority, their
first occupation will be something part–time and unspecialized. This is because in high school, the
majority of us have little to nothing to put on our resumes that would qualify as genuine work
involvement. A great deal of high schoolers will have occupations as babysitters, fast–food and basic
supply clerks, conveyance men and ladies for eateries, and so on. These sorts of employments as a
rule pay the lowest pay permitted by law, and infrequently require a higher education.
Being a student in high school and having a job can teach students how to manage their time well.
Time management is the most important when it comes to having a job in high school. Some
portion of growing up is having a calendar and staying on top of it. By taking a job in high school,
high schoolers can discover how it feels before they hit college. Thus, they might have the capacity
to go up against more duties and credit hours, and experience the advantages of both!
Having a job in high school seems all good but having a job in high school can have a whole lot of
side effects. The number 1 side effect is that it can cause you to have a whole lot of stress. High
school can be an exceptionally difficult all by itself. There is a great deal of weight for high school
students to excel academically, and with college admission appearing it seems to be more
competition than ever, numerous students feel they should go well beyond to try and have a
possibility at getting acknowledged. With so much stressed already set on high schoolers to prevail
in their courses and exams, including 20

20. Case Study On Apollo 13
After the oxygen tank explosion, the service module became damaged beyond use, which was the
only source of power and consumables was the lunar module. The Apollo 13 crew had to preserve
the resources of the command module had to be preserved for the vital reentry operation. And so
the lunar module became figuratively speaking a lifeboat for Apollo 13. Fortunately, the loss of
oxygen from the remaining tank was at a slow enough rate that the last fuel cell continued to supply
power for about two hours. This was enough time to evaluate options and prepare for a quick return
to Earth. The crew then powered down the command module and shifted to the powered up the lunar
module for the trip
