The US EPA estimates that currently 80% of all discarded computer systems find their
way into landfills. In a recent study the US EPA estimates that dumping 315 million
computers into landfills amounts to the introduction of 1.2 billion pounds of lead,
2 million pounds of cadmium, and 400,000 pounds of mercury seeping
into water streams every year.

Currently, E-waste is the fastest
growing part of the waste stream.
Approximately 3.2 million tons of electronic waste is deposited in
landfills each year. Electronic waste represents only 2% of landfill volume but
accounts for 70% of the toxins from landfills.
Toxins such as cadmium, mercury and lead can cause damage to the
environment and to human health if disposed improperly. In the US, we
throw away about 400 million units per year of consumer electronics,
according to recycling industry experts.

As global trends
Sustainability
continue to shift the foundations of our
current business models, incremental
innovation will become less and less
effective in enabling companies,
industries, and whole economies to
adapt and succeed. There is an urgent
need for fundamentally different
approaches to value creation.
eSmart Recycling A Division of Scrap On Spot, LLC
According to the MIT report Creating Value Through Business Model Innovation, it is important
to innovate in areas where the competition is unable or unwilling to act—where competitors
might find it more difficult to imitate or replicate an entire “activity system”.
Quoting innovation researchers Alexander Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur in their 2010 work
Business Model Generation where business model is defined as “fundamental structures for how
companies create, deliver and capture value.” Our business model encompasses sustainability
and awareness for proper electronic recycling practices. We can accomplish this by providing the
right tools, resources and information, as well as making the process accessible and easy for our
clients and consumers.

When we talk about ITAD, we are talking about the process of securely retiring electronic business
equipment (computers, servers, copiers, audio & video equipment, handheld devices, phone systems,
etc.) through a regulatory-compliant system.
Selling your recently upgraded IT equipment can put money back in your budget and clean up
valuable office or storage space. One of the biggest concerns companies face is the fear of
inadvertently sharing sensitive data.
Data security and environmental responsibility are the most critical aspects of asset disposition; this
is why eSmart Recycling has the highest standards of data security. This is done by physically
shredding in-house every single Hard Drive and data containing device we get from our customers.
We do not re-market or re-sell any hard drives. No exception!

Community Outreach
One of the most powerful instruments we have as individuals and corporations is the ability to
educate and reach out to our community.
We believe is a duty that all of us should have, we can all do our part in making our communities
better. As a company, we are currently involved in numerous outreach programs and educational
initiatives around our community.
eSmart Recycling Awareness Program

THE ROLLER A.B.E.R.B
eSmart Recycling Drives.
When it comes to awareness building opportunities and behavior change processes, we want to be on top of the
game.
That is why we are constantly partnering up with organizations to host electronic recycling drives. We want to let
the community know that there are options available to properly dispose of electronics in a safe, secure and
convenient way.
eSmart Fundraising.
There are many different ways to fundraise for non-profit and charitable organizations. Electronic Recycling is
definitely one of them.
We have successfully helped many churches, charitable organizations, non-profits and foundations to raise money
in new and creative ways, promote awareness and get the entire community involved.
eSmart Recycling A Division of Scrap On Spot, LLC
Speaking engagements.
We love talking and meeting people, especially if we are talking about what we love doing. There is
a lot of information in this industry, some information is fun and really neat to learn, but some of it
just needs to be heard.
Apart from being actively involved with groups like Alligator Zone, Junior Achievement, GATI,
Eureka Factory and other community related groups, we are always looking to share our knowledge
and get our message across.
We are constantly visiting schools, speaking at events or sharing with team members, employees and
staff about all of the different actions we can take to create a better and greener environment and
organization.

Local Support that makes a difference.
We are supporters of an inspirational and amazing local non-profit. Tech Start Tampa Bay.
Tech Start Tampa Bay (TSTB) is developing the next generation of creators. They are achieving this
by creating a better future for at-risk youth of Tampa Bay and providing inspiration, education and
opportunities in technology fields.
This incredible non-profit sets up STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) programs
in schools at no cost to the school (provided they have physical resources). Also, they have
programs like the Code Club, Developing Divas and Robotics, where kids learn how to program,
code, create and build!
eSmart Recycling A Division of Scrap On Spot, LLC
We can utilize recently upgraded or even outdated IT equipment from your organization to support
this initiative. We can do this either by creating buy-back programs that will benefit TSTB or by
re-locating these IT assets where physical resources may be needed to run a particular program
sponsored by TSTB.
Also, a portion of all of our proceeds and our pick up fees go to support this
local initiative in our city.
eSmart Recycling A Division of Scrap On Spot, LLC
Corporate Social Responsibility
Let’s create a partnership for the benefit of humanity.
Our efforts go beyond any other local electronic recycling company. We are creating solid relationships with outreach
platforms, municipalities, cities and schools all around the world, to build a bridge that will make an impact in a
community in a developing nation.
During revolutionary times like the one we are facing currently, is when leaders step up to the plate and make great
things happen. CEOs and business owners have the moral duty and responsibility to not only be industry leaders, but
community leaders as well. Success should not only be measured by quarterly reports and sales estimates, but should
also be measured by the impact the organization is making in the local community.
Imagine the life changing impact that those computers, that have just been upgraded in your office, can have in the
life of a kid or family across the world that doesn’t have access to virtually any type of technology. With initiatives like
internet.org and basic pre-installed applications and software, those computers and IT equipment can become
instruments of education; they can become life changing tools.
Your organization can be a part of this amazing opportunity. By partnering up with us, we will take care of all of the
proper documentation, information and marketing material needed to incorporate this initiative into your corporate
social responsibility programs and cause marketing strategies.
eSmart Recycling A Division of Scrap On Spot, LLC
WHAT‘S NEXT?
“Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision
just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world.”
-Joel A.Barker.
eSmart Recycling is the smart solution for your IT asset disposition and electronic recycling needs. A partnership with
our company will be a synonym of strength through collaboration and benefit to your bottom line. You will have an
ally on your side looking after your data security and providing peace of mind to your organization and your clients.
We look forward to working together and establishing a successful relationship in the future.

This incredible non-profit sets up STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) programs in schools at no cost to the school (provided they have physical resources). Also, they have programs like the Code Club, Developing Divas and Robotics, where kids learn how to program, code, create and build!
  • 21. eSmart Recycling A Division of Scrap On Spot, LLC We can utilize recently upgraded or even outdated IT equipment from your organization to support this initiative. We can do this either by creating buy-back programs that will benefit TSTB or by re-locating these IT assets where physical resources may be needed to run a particular program sponsored by TSTB. Also, a portion of all of our proceeds and our pick up fees go to support this local initiative in our city.
  • 22. eSmart Recycling A Division of Scrap On Spot, LLC Corporate Social Responsibility Let’s create a partnership for the benefit of humanity. Our efforts go beyond any other local electronic recycling company. We are creating solid relationships with outreach platforms, municipalities, cities and schools all around the world, to build a bridge that will make an impact in a community in a developing nation. During revolutionary times like the one we are facing currently, is when leaders step up to the plate and make great things happen. CEOs and business owners have the moral duty and responsibility to not only be industry leaders, but community leaders as well. Success should not only be measured by quarterly reports and sales estimates, but should also be measured by the impact the organization is making in the local community. Imagine the life changing impact that those computers, that have just been upgraded in your office, can have in the life of a kid or family across the world that doesn’t have access to virtually any type of technology. With initiatives like internet.org and basic pre-installed applications and software, those computers and IT equipment can become instruments of education; they can become life changing tools. Your organization can be a part of this amazing opportunity. By partnering up with us, we will take care of all of the proper documentation, information and marketing material needed to incorporate this initiative into your corporate social responsibility programs and cause marketing strategies.
