Read Before Listening: Let’s know a little bit about this Jewish Celebration called Rosh Hashanah
(Hebrew: ‫ )ראש השנה‬which is their New Year. Jewish New Year’s Day is usually in September or

the Torah (Bible) as ‫( יום תרועה‬Yom Teruah, a day of sounding [the Shofar]). Rosh Hashanah
customs include sounding the shofar (ram’s horn) and eating symbolic foods such as apples dipped
