Thrive in Greece more than 100 species of
 herbs, from which 60 are considered and for
 beekeeping. From the great variety of the
 main cultivated are the yolk, the dittany,
 oregano, mountain tea, the fennel, and
 anise. In trade, the greater awareness have
 mountain tea, chamomile, oregano, sage,
 mint, cumin, aniseed, lavender and melissa.
USES OF AROMATIC
          PLANTS
These herbs have been used for hundreds of years
in every part of the earth from many cultures, not
only in nutrition but also in health’s
troubleshooting.Herbs are widespread throughout
the Mediterranean region and is the centerpiece of
the flora.Firstly,they were used as condiments,
beverages and for therapeutic reasons.Nowadays,
herbs and essential oils are used for the
production of food, beverages, cosmetics,
pharmaceutical industry,and in beekeeping.
HERB’S NAME : Thyme
          AREAS TO FIND :
          In the meadows and fields
          of northern Greece

          USES:
          1) Adjust the
          dysmenorrhea
          2) The anticonvulsant and
          sedative
          3) It helps in hiccups
          aerophagy and nervous
          vomiting
          4) Good for insomnia and
          colitis

          AREAS TO FIND:
          grocery stores and
          farmers' markets, gardens

          USES:

          1) It helps in upset
          2) Combats indigestion

Ocimum basilicum
         AREAS TO FIND IT:
         Everywhere in Greece

         USES:
         Used in pharmaceuticals
         as a popular herb and is
         believed to be a good
         diuretic, soothes
         stomachache and
         headache while in
         antiquity and was used as
         a suffix after biting insect,
         scorpion or snake

SPEARMINT MINT
      AREAS TO FIND: Except that
        grows only in the plant
        moist and mountainous
        places, cultivated by many
        people usually in pots in
        the garden because of the
        aroma, its usefulness as a
        seasoning in food and
        pharmaceutical properties.

      USES: It is tonic, digestive,
        soothing the stomach,
        antispasmodic, stop the
        hiccups, while chewing the
        leaves relieves migraines
HERB’S NAME:SAGE
          WHERE IT IS FOUND :
          Sage grows everywhere,
           without any particular
           preference on the ground.
           But the most powerful and
           fragrant grows in wild,
           uncultivated areas.
          USES :
          It has tonic properties and is
           used as the cardio and
           neuralgia. Reduces
           intestinal gases, is a diuretic
           and emmenagogue.

     dictamnus
          Whrere it’s found:
            It only grows wild on the
             mountainsides and gorges of
             the Greek island of Crete,
             Greece.
          Uses:
             It is a healing, therapeutic and
             aromatic. The dittany of Crete is
             widely used for food flavouring
             and medicinal purposes, in
             addition to it featuring as an
             ornamental plant in gardens. It
             is easily recognised by the
             distinctive soft, woolly covering
             of white-grey hair on its stems
             and round green leaves, giving
             it a velvety texture.
CROCUS KOZANIS
1) Antioxidant activity.
   This action is now considered highly beneficial for the body
   in many ways.

2) Antithrombotic action.
   Result of antiplatelet effect observed in laboratory scale.
   This action is attributed to a decreased incidence of
   cardiovascular events in Valencia, Spain, where egg
   consumption is great.

3) Anticancer activity.
   The action was seen by many researches on purely
   experimental.
Crocus is only produced in
    Greece , Kozani.
MASTICHA CHIOS

The mastic has significant antibacterial and
  antifungal properties.
 Mastic oil has in vitro and in vivo
  anticancer properties. The mastic seems
  to significantly reduce levels of blood
  cholesterol and lipoproteins A and B. In
  addition, ipatoprostateftiki action after
  exercise reduces transaminases
Masticha is only produced
   in Greece , Chios.
