2. Erasmus – The Basics www.lancaster.ac.uk/erasmus Erasmus is the EU Initiative to fund a student’s placement abroad. We fund both work and study placements. You must spend at least 3 months and a maximum of 10 months abroad. All EU/EEA students are eligible for the grant if they apply.
3. About The Grant www.lancaster.ac.uk/erasmus Initial Grant Rate EUR225 per month. Potential second allocation in spring. Supplementary grants are available for Priority Countries. The National Agency advises us on amounts and when the funds will be received. ALL students must apply to receive the grant, rules and deadlines are set by the National Agency. Erasmus students who spend a full academic year on placements will qualify for a fee waiver (check with Registry).
4. How to Apply www.lancaster.ac.uk/erasmus You will receive FIVE forms from the International Office. All forms available for download from www.lancaster.ac.uk/erasmus Personal Details Form Mobility Agreement (your Contract) Intended Dates of Attendance Learning or Training Agreement Final Report Form
5. How to Apply www.lancaster.ac.uk/erasmus Return Forms 1 and 2 to the International Office as soon you can. Register your UK Bank Account online. Form 3 must be signed by your department and countersigned by your employer or host university. There is a study or work version. Please use the correct form! Form 4 is in 2 parts. Part 1 for instant return on arrival, Part 2 for confirmation on departure. Return the forms as soon as they are signed – by post, fax or scanned in an email.
6. When do I get the money? www.lancaster.ac.uk/erasmus We will not allocate your grant until we have received all four forms. Forms 3 and 4 are your application for funding per placement, meaning you must return two sets if you undertake two separate placements. There are four allocation rounds and once you qualify for funding, you will be included in the next round. The earliest allocation round is in November.
7. Your Responsibilities www.lancaster.ac.uk/erasmus You must let us know if there is any change to your placement period. If you return early, please notify the International Office. You must never claim any other European Community funding at the same time as you receive Erasmus funding. You must complete Form 5 in order to remain eligible. The National Agency has the right to reclaim funds.
8. Important Information www.lancaster.ac.uk/erasmus We cannot guarantee any payment dates or rates. Do not rely on this grant to finance your placement! Keep checking your Lancaster email address and add a.bebbington, k.hammes and llperasmus to safe senders. REMEMBER: This is a free grant. To qualify, you only need to apply correctly.
