Equal Pay Day Chicago is holding a high school journalism contest to raise awareness about the gender and racial wage gaps in the United States. Students are invited to write an article between 450-750 words on some aspect of pay disparity that incorporates a statistic, mentions relevant legislation, and includes a quote from someone discussing equal pay. Two winners will be selected and announced at the Equal Pay Day event on April 4th, where they will read a portion of their article. The first prize is $300 and the second is $50.
