3. Food waste or food loss is food that is
discarded or lost uneaten. The causes
of food waste or loss are numerous,
and occur at the stages of production,
processing, retailing and consumption.
7. 5.6 million children die of hunger every
year.
1 in 7 people in the world are
undernourished.
Nearly 40% of the food produced in the
world is never eaten.
Food wastage devastates individuals,
the environment and the world itself.
8.
9. DO YOU STILL WANT TO WASTE FOOD?
DON’T WASTE FOOD..
IF YOU ARE GETTING MEAL AT LEAST
ONE TIME IN A DAY, YOU ARE BLESSED.
THERE ARE LOTS WHO EVEN LOST THEIR
STRENGHT TO ASK FOR FOOD.
10. We are taught since the beginning of our
education that food is necessity ones and it
goes for each and every living being from
animals to humans. What we see today is
people tend to satisfy only their necessity
and do not bother about others. The way in
which it is noticed most commonly is
“wastage of food”. People having eaten up
their food, throw away the left overs without
giving it a thought that there are some
people who have not eaten anything for a
longtime, who keep on looking for that one
piece of bread that can satisfy their hunger
11. We students have taken up a project
where we find out that weather some
of food in our mess also or not. We ask
the workers around it was added to
our knowledge that yes, even here is
wastage of food which can be reduced
by our contribution and efforts.
12. We ask the students for not wasting the food and also
the workers for not throwing it away, instead they
provide to the helpless and needy for it is the in which
it can be used. To some extend we were quite
successful when we saw the reduced amount of food
being wasted and it not being thrown away we always
the same was the given to other people who could
not afford to have even a single meal properly. It just
brings sense of joy within us by helping others for
healthy peoples will have healthy minds that will
ultimately lead to healthy environment.
