2. What is Entrepreneurship ?
• Entrepreneurship is the
process of designing,
launching and running a
new business, which is often
initially a small business. The
people who create these
businesses are called
entrepreneurs.

entrepreneur
Risks takers
Good Communication
Confidence
Passion
Think Big dream Big

4. Gurukant as an entrepreneur
• Guru is a son of village school
headmaster
• Guru decides to go to Turkey and
enter the spice Trade.
• Wants to work for himself
• Migrates to Bombay and starts
trading in cloths.
• He ruthlessly pursues success.
He smuggles machine parts for
his polyester mill, illegally
creates good and manipulates
stocks to make a higher profit.

5. Balram Halwai as an
Entrepreneur
• Balram halwai is son of rickshaw puller.
• Starts working at tea shop and then works as a
driver
• Murders his master and runs away with money
• Start his own new Business and becomes
successful entrepreneur.
• We can see confidence in him when he is writing
to Chinese premier Mr. jiabo, he has no remorse
for whatever he has done in his way to success.

6. Similarities and difference
between Guru and Balram
• Both belongs to village life
• Both are Risk taker
• Guru do illegal business and Balram murders his
master and after becoming successful he bribes
police
• In the end of the Guru movie Gurukant was
brought before a private government inquiry and
was charged with a fine 6.3 million whereas
Balram never get caught.

• “stories of rottenness and corruption are always
the best stories, aren’t they ?”( Balram Halwai in
White tiger )
• Balram and guru presents the story of ‘rags to
riches’. Arvind Adiga represents more realistic
picture of an entrepreneur than Mani Rantam in
guru movie.
• Balram Halwai represents those people who
spilled someone’s blood in their way to top. We
can’t relate this point with those successful
people who came first with their toil.
