After he earned his law degree in 1985 from the Capital University School of Law in Columbus, Ohio, attorney Jeffrey Feyko entered private practice as a solo practitioner in the nearby city of Pickerington. In addition to his practice, he also serves as an administrative hearing officer for the Fairfield County, Ohio Child Support Enforcement Agency, and as solicitor for the Fairfield County villages of Baltimore and Carroll. When he is not attending to his professional responsibilities, Jeffrey Feyko enjoys a wide range of outdoor activities, including hiking, snow skiing, and cycling. Jeffrey Feyko is a board member of the Fairfield County Park District and the Pickerington Senior Center Foundation. The Fairfield County Park District operates over 1,000 acres of natural areas and green spaces for education, recreation and conservation, and preserves and maintains many historical features. Its mission statement provides that its goal is "to protect and conserve natural and historical features of Fairfield County, and inspire outdoor exploration." The Park District features Rock Mill, a restored and operational grist mill. The restoration of Rock Mill included the crafting and installation of a working replica of the mill's 26 foot diameter all-wood waterwheel, which is the largest of its kind in the state of Ohio. The Park District also features former locks of the Ohio & Erie Canal; covered bridges; hiking trails; nature preserves; and sports fields and playgrounds. The Fairfield County Park District recently acquired a high quality wetlands nature preserve, which includes one of the largest Great Blue Heron rookeries south of the Lake Erie watershed. The heron rookery consists of an average of 50 nests per season in a relatively undisturbed section of Walnut Creek.
