7. What is a Nhava ?
eNhava Cloud 4 Education, C2C 2015 Workshop Presentation 7
In the days when our forefathers used to hunt and gather for
survival; it is told that the old and the young men used to
carry with them weapons and tools for their hunting
expeditions. The tools were put in a strong bag known as
the Nhava (Shona, Zimbabwean local language).
The Nhava was used as a storage
container that consisted of catapults,
knives, stones, water, food and baits
for hunting purposes. As they pursued
their quest for food, they would come
across wild berries and fruits; and all
would be stored in the Nhava.
8. From those days till today, centuries have passed
by and now the GREATEST search is for
KNOWLEDGE and the Nhava has been reinvented
to become the through the Global Village
brought by technology.

borders of their counties via the eNhava network.

Universities such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology
(MIT) in USA are using this approach to promote their brand

Who subsequently pay for longer courses and/or to secure a

Learning Management System
The portal allows learning content to be created and
made available to students across the eNhava portal.
One of the challenges we face in the educational sector is the
significant disparity between the national exam results across
schools. In many cases, this comes down to the quality of education.
The eNhava LMS presents an opportunity to standardize access to
the same content by working with the Ministries of Education to
create course templates that provide week by week guidance to
teachers and students on the topics that need to be covered during
the course of the term.
By standardizing learning across educational institutions with the
multi-tenant LMS, we intend to increase the overall quality and
standard of education not only in Zimbabwe, but across the eNhava
network.

Putting the pieces together, Extensia connected ZARNet and
Tech Equity to see how we could create additional value
beyond connecting the schools to providing them with
tailored value added services over the newly developed
networks.
It was for this reason that eNhava was officially launched
during the IAD Summit that was held in April 2015 in Victoria
Falls, Zimbabwe by the Vice President of Zimbabwe
Honorable Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.
• This paved the way to revolutionize research and education
networks and provided NRENs ,academic and research
