English composition II B
Essay by: Cirlys Caballero Contreras.
This is one chapter of my life, I would say it is the saddest one, but now it is in
the past and I do not care too much about it, even though it is important to
highlight three of the most relevant aspects that made my childhood a little bit
miserable for the fact of not having my mom by my side during that period of
time. The first aspect is the fact of standing dad comments and laughing of
people, most of the time children who studied with me. The second aspect is
not having a shoulder to lean on and the beginning of new things and new
experiences, and finally the fact of living the life from my own points of view or
perspectives and realizes that all those bad moments helped me to be the
person who I am today.
When you are a little girl you expect to live your life as the other kids of your
age, but something can change it. My mom went away from me when I was 7
years old and from that moment on I started to live an empty and miserable life.
I had to stand bad comments and laugh of other kids, when mother’s day came
all the students had to make cards and buy gifts for their mothers and they
laughed at me as they knew she did not live with me. When people asked me
about my mom I would say that she went away to work, but they just said she
was a bad mother, that she did not love me, that she left me alone because
she has more important things to do than taking care of me, those words are in
my mind since then.
While you are growing up you start to know new things, feelings, and
experiences; when that happens your head starts to have doubts and you want
to know about everything, you get confused easily when you are little and your
desires are to find answers to those questions you have in your mind. For
example the first time you “fall in love” and you feel those butterflies in your
stomach, but you do not know what that is and you want to find answers, but
you do not have your mom close to you; the only person you think can help you.
Advice you, or giving you the information you want to get; in the other hand
when you are alone, sad, or worry and you wished to have your moms’ shoulder
and words there, but you realize that you would not find them, that she was not
there to support you, to cheer you up, to encourage you for keep on going.
The time went so fast and I became a teenager, when you are on that age you
think you own the world, that you can do whatever you wish, I thought that in
that moment I did not need my mom in my life, I could go whenever I wanted, I
could do whatever I wanted without listening to anyone; I was the owner of my
life. I used to think that all those sad, dab, and stupid moments helped me to get
“mature and grow” as a person, but it was not like that those moments just
made me more resentful and irresponsible. I lost the control of my life. Come
on! I was a teenager I needed to be guided and controlled. It took many wrong
decisions, and I did not pay attention to the really important thing as my
education, family, and friends; I hated studying, I did not stand my family, and I
did not have friends. I guess I took so seriously the fact of being alone; today I
can say I forgive my mom that those scars healed and thanks God I understand
those things were part of a perfect plan made by him to make me stronger and
make me the girl who I am today.
To conclude this, I can say that life is not perfect and sadness is part of it, but
remember that after every dark cloud there is a silver light and that sad and
painful experiences have to go to an end and you learn from them, every single
living experience bad or good help you to mold your temperament, to make you
grow and, to open your eyes and see what real life is, but it is up to you if you
keep with that or bury it and keep living, not forgetting that those things were
allowed happening to you just to make you stronger.
