Purpose
The purpose of this research report is to find if there is a connection between the negative or
positive effects of anxiety through physical, emotional, and social relations on the body.

Methodology
For my research paper I have used journal entries and the web.

Definitions
 Anxiety-a relatively permanent state of worry and nervousness occurring in a variety of mental
disorders, usually accompanied by compulsive ... a vague unpleasant emotion that is experienced
in anticipation of some (usually ill-defined) misfortune.

Thesis
Anxiety has a negative effect on the body.

Recommendations
Based on these research findings it is recommended that everyone that has any signs of anxiety
should not be worried, but aware of possible symptoms. If you think you may have a severe case
of anxiety disorder you should be sure to talk to a doctor. The doctor can help you lessen the
physical pain.

Overview
In this research paper it will be focusing on how anxiety has a negative effect on the body. And
also the ways to help control your anxiety yourself.

Discussion
I have learned that the only positive thing with moderate anxiety is the fight or flight reaction.
That makes adrenaline rush through your body to make you more aware of your surroundings.
Also there are a lot of physical symptoms, I knew about a few of them but not the fact the if you
carry stress all the time its more likely to be susceptible to heart disease. And that you may lose
sleep which is more likely, but also that you can have excessive sleeping, and all you can think
about is the next time you can go to sleep. I’ve also had the experience of not being able to
swallow properly. I didn’t think that it was related to anxiety but know that makes sense. I’ve
had fear about not being to swallow and choking. Now I know a lot more about how anxiety
affects the body.




1Social Anxiety

In this paper it talks about how having anxiety in social events is not a bad thing. It always
causes discomfort but its not bad for the body. When the body is going through all of this, it
triggers the fight and flight method so that’s why the body reacts the way it does. When some
one has anxiety it can become worse when put into a social position.


Physical Anxiety

In the paper there talking about how it is normal for the body to have these symptoms. Many
people do not think that anxiety can be treated. So ask your doctor about getting treatments.
Others worry that if they do seek treatment what will others think and turn there physical illness
into a anxiety attack. An attack can escalate in ten minutes to reach the diagnoses of a panic
attack. Basically all anxiety is a uncomfortable feeling of worry that occurs through out your
body such as increased heart rate, sweating, chest pain and so on.

Emotional Anxiety
In this paper it talks about how anxiety can cause depression, disturbance in relationships,
tension and the person may remain in the constant state of worry. Anxiety takes place
basically in every part of your body it affects your nervous system, cardiovascular
system, chest, difficulty swallowing, sweat glands, skin, respiratory system, mouth sore
eyes, insomnia, suicidal attempt, endocrine system and different behavior. “The human
body, in order to keep up with the demands of the modern world, reacts in a "fight-or-
flight" manner, preparing the body to meet a challenge or to avoid it. This mechanism
was highly useful ages ago, when man was challenged by real physical threats (wild
animals), but the mechanism has stayed with humans as they've evolved, and it still is
initiated when something stressful is encountered “Stress causes the hypothalamus gland
to release certain hormones, namely adrenaline and cortisol, by way of the adrenal
glands. These hormones cause certain metabolic reactions within the body, allowing the
body to prepare for a challenge. Such changes include increased heart rate, increased
blood pressure, and increased glusoce production for an increased energy supply.
Systems which are nonessential are temporarily shut off, such as the immune system and
the digestive system.” (Jennifer Gerics, 2008). This shows that everyone has some type of
anxiety because we used the fight or flight instinct when were cave men, so we were
aware of our surroundings. Now that the world has evolved we don’t really need to have
the fright flight, its not a bad thing because everyone needs to be fully aware of there
surroundings, but its not necessarily good for our bodies. In today’s society we have
many worries and fears and anxiety about these, which can slowly make you ill. More
people than you would think has anxiety it just depends on the level in then which it can
be diagnosed. Many don’t know that anxiety is just a way of worry and uneasiness about
future events or anything like talking to someone or what could happen. They think of all
the, what ifs.

  • 1. Purpose The purpose of this research report is to find if there is a connection between the negative or positive effects of anxiety through physical, emotional, and social relations on the body. Methodology For my research paper I have used journal entries and the web. Definitions Anxiety-a relatively permanent state of worry and nervousness occurring in a variety of mental disorders, usually accompanied by compulsive ... a vague unpleasant emotion that is experienced in anticipation of some (usually ill-defined) misfortune. Thesis Anxiety has a negative effect on the body. Recommendations Based on these research findings it is recommended that everyone that has any signs of anxiety should not be worried, but aware of possible symptoms. If you think you may have a severe case of anxiety disorder you should be sure to talk to a doctor. The doctor can help you lessen the physical pain. Overview In this research paper it will be focusing on how anxiety has a negative effect on the body. And also the ways to help control your anxiety yourself. Discussion I have learned that the only positive thing with moderate anxiety is the fight or flight reaction. That makes adrenaline rush through your body to make you more aware of your surroundings. Also there are a lot of physical symptoms, I knew about a few of them but not the fact the if you carry stress all the time its more likely to be susceptible to heart disease. And that you may lose sleep which is more likely, but also that you can have excessive sleeping, and all you can think about is the next time you can go to sleep. I’ve also had the experience of not being able to swallow properly. I didn’t think that it was related to anxiety but know that makes sense. I’ve had fear about not being to swallow and choking. Now I know a lot more about how anxiety affects the body. 1Social Anxiety In this paper it talks about how having anxiety in social events is not a bad thing. It always causes discomfort but its not bad for the body. When the body is going through all of this, it
  • 2. triggers the fight and flight method so that’s why the body reacts the way it does. When some one has anxiety it can become worse when put into a social position. Physical Anxiety In the paper there talking about how it is normal for the body to have these symptoms. Many people do not think that anxiety can be treated. So ask your doctor about getting treatments. Others worry that if they do seek treatment what will others think and turn there physical illness into a anxiety attack. An attack can escalate in ten minutes to reach the diagnoses of a panic attack. Basically all anxiety is a uncomfortable feeling of worry that occurs through out your body such as increased heart rate, sweating, chest pain and so on. Emotional Anxiety
  • 3. In this paper it talks about how anxiety can cause depression, disturbance in relationships, tension and the person may remain in the constant state of worry. Anxiety takes place basically in every part of your body it affects your nervous system, cardiovascular system, chest, difficulty swallowing, sweat glands, skin, respiratory system, mouth sore eyes, insomnia, suicidal attempt, endocrine system and different behavior. “The human body, in order to keep up with the demands of the modern world, reacts in a "fight-or- flight" manner, preparing the body to meet a challenge or to avoid it. This mechanism was highly useful ages ago, when man was challenged by real physical threats (wild animals), but the mechanism has stayed with humans as they've evolved, and it still is initiated when something stressful is encountered “Stress causes the hypothalamus gland to release certain hormones, namely adrenaline and cortisol, by way of the adrenal glands. These hormones cause certain metabolic reactions within the body, allowing the body to prepare for a challenge. Such changes include increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, and increased glusoce production for an increased energy supply. Systems which are nonessential are temporarily shut off, such as the immune system and the digestive system.” (Jennifer Gerics, 2008). This shows that everyone has some type of anxiety because we used the fight or flight instinct when were cave men, so we were aware of our surroundings. Now that the world has evolved we don’t really need to have the fright flight, its not a bad thing because everyone needs to be fully aware of there surroundings, but its not necessarily good for our bodies. In today’s society we have many worries and fears and anxiety about these, which can slowly make you ill. More people than you would think has anxiety it just depends on the level in then which it can be diagnosed. Many don’t know that anxiety is just a way of worry and uneasiness about future events or anything like talking to someone or what could happen.
