of Guy Fawkes Night celebrations. A stylized portrayal of a face with an
oversized smile and red cheeks, a wide moustache upturned at both ends,
and a thin vertical pointed beard, designed by illustrator David Lloyd, came
to represent broader protest after it was used as a major plot element in V
for Vendetta, published in 1982, and its 2005 film adaptation. After
appearing in Internet forums, the mask became a well-known symbol for
the ___________, used in Project Chanology, the Occupy movement, and

‘X' is a Tangkhul(Naga) word. In Naga custom, a branched tree at the
entrance of the house symbolises special status of the family. The author ‘Y’
lived with the Tangkhul Naga for many years and had a special feeling for
them. The Nagas were tough and sturdy but actually they were soft within
like a flower with incense which gave ‘Y’ a lot of pleasure. This is where ‘X’
was born. The story traces back to the time when Second World War was
coming to an end and a few years prior to the independence of India when
the Japanese troops were retreating from parts of Manipur and Naga hills. In
the Japanese army, there was a Naga soldier, Vidashali of the Azad Hind
Force of Subhas Chandra Bose. His idea was to fight against the British for
independence of India. He also wished to separate Naga hills from India and
make it a sovereign state but there was another Naga leader, Rishang whose
ideas were totally opposite to him. Rishang was influenced by the Christian
missionaries and Gandhiji. Hence the conflict between the two leaders is the
backdrop of this wonderful novel. ‘X’ is considered to be ‘Y's best and
successful creations for which he attained a lot of prestige and praise.
Identify ‘X’ and ‘Y’…..
