The author spent an unplanned day alone in a tree house on Nijhum Island. He found shelter in an empty tree house near a river and forest after being unable to find anywhere else. From the tree house, the author enjoyed watching farmers work and boats sail by. At night, he was scared by a harsh sound but found nothing. In the morning, he realized no one knew where he was and decided to return home, reminded of the quote "God made the country and man made the village."
