The nasoseptal flap is based on the posterior septal branch of the sphenopalatine artery. It is used in endonasal surgeries to repair cerebrospinal fluid leaks, particularly for patients with large high-flow defects in the dura. The flap is raised from the nasal septum and is used to cover the defect site and promote healing.
