The document discusses Muslim beliefs about Jesus (peace be upon him). It states that Muslims believe Jesus was a prophet sent to the Israelites, but was not divine. Muslims believe Jesus performed miracles by God's permission and spoke in defense of monotheism. The document provides several Quranic verses indicating Jesus was a human prophet who worshipped God alone. It rejects the Christian belief that Jesus is God or the son of God. Overall, the document outlines key Muslim beliefs about Jesus' status as a prophet and rejection of the Christian concept of Trinity.
These are simple words, which contain a clarification of how we worship Allāh in matters related to Aslud-dīn , which a person’s Islām cannot be correct without. I wrote it as a shortened and summarized version, so that it would be a support to the Muwahhidūn (Islāmic monotheists), a jewel for close friends (of Allāh) and the believers, and an equipment for them in the call towards this religion.

Etiquette of Dua
--------------------------
It is important for us to observe the etiquette of dua so that we may derive
maximum benefit from them. These have been beautifully summarised by
Imam al-Nawawi, where he lists ten prime conditions and dispositions that
we should observe:
1. Seek out the blessed times of Prayer: The Day of the Standing on
the plain of Arafat [during Hajj]; the month of fasting [Ramadan];
Fridays [days of congregational prayers]; and during the night
[especially the last third of it].
2. Seek out the blessed moments for Prayer when the heart is
receptive and tender: immediately after the five daily prescribed
Prayers; between the call to Prayer (adhan) and the final call to
Prayer (iqama); when breaking fast; while on the field of battle;
when rainfall occurs; and when bowing down [sujud] in Prayer, for
the Prophet said, `The worshipper is closest to his Lord while
bowing down. So pray much then.' (Muslim.)
3. Face the direction of Makka and raise the hands [with palms
spread upward] to the level of the shoulders.
4. Voice supplications in a moderate tone that is neither too loud nor
too soft.
5. Prayers need not be said in a forced rhymed prose [an often
natural form in Arabic].
6. Implore God with humility and reverence.
7. Be fervent in Prayer and optimistic of the answer. Sufyan ibn
Uyayna stated: What a person knows of himself should never stop
him from supplicating to God for He answered the most evil
creatures, Iblis [Shaytan], when he said, `Give me respite until the
Day they are resurrected. God said, You are of the respired ones.'
[al-Araf 7: 14.]
8. Repeat requests, preferably three times, and don't be impatient or
despondent in waiting for an answer.
9. Begin supplication with the mention of God [His Names, praises
and attributes] before asking of Him, and entreat God to send His
blessings and peace upon the Prophet.
10. Strive for inner purity with repentance and sincere devotion.

What is invocation? What are the means of invoking Allah?
Allah has revealed the means of invoking Him in the Holy Qur’an: “O you who believe! Do your duty to Allah and fear Him. And seek the means of approach to Him, and strive hard in His Cause (as much as you can), so that you may be successful” [Al-Ma'idah 5:35]

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

2. What are the Muslims’ beliefs concerning the Messiah ‘Eesa ibn Maryam?
Praise be to Allaah.
Our beliefs concerning the Messiah ‘Eesa ibn Maryam (Jesus the son of
Mary – peace be upon him) are those indicated by the Book of Allaah
and the Sunnah of our Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of
Allaah be upon him).
We believe that ‘Eesa (peace be upon him) was one of the slaves of Allaah,
and one of His noble Messengers. Allaah sent him to the Children of
Israel to call them to believe in Allaah alone and worship Him alone.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): {And (remember) when
‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), said: ‘O Children of Israel! I am
the Messenger of Allaah unto you, confirming the Tawraat [(Torah)
which came] before me, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger to come
after me, whose name shall be Ahmad.’ But when he (Ahmad, i.e.
Muhammad) came to them with clear proofs, they said: ‘This is plain
magic’} [al-Saff 61:6].

We believe that he told his followers of the coming of our Prophet
Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

We believe that he will come back down at the end of time, and will
disprove the claim of his enemies the Jews that they killed him, and will
disprove the claim of the Christians that he is God or the son of God,
and he will not accept anything from them but Islam.
Al-Bukhaari (2222) and Muslim (155) narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may
Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “By the One in Whose hand is
my soul, soon the son of Maryam will descend among you [according
to another report: the Hour will not begin until the son of Maryam
descends among you] as a just judge. He will break the cross, kill the

one will accept it.”
«والذي نفسي بيده، ليوشكن أن ينزل فيكم ابن مرمي (ويف رواية للبخاري: ال تقوم الساعة حىت ينزل فيكم ابن
»مرمي) حكما مقسطا، فيكسر الصليب، ويقتل اخلنزير، ويضع اجلزية، ويفيض املال حىت ال يقبله أحد
رواه البخاري ومسلم
“Soon” means it will inevitably happen quickly.
“will descend among you” means among this Ummah.
“A just judge” means that he will come down and rule according to
this sharee’ah, and that this sharee’ah will remain and not be abrogated,
rather ‘Eesa will be one of the rulers of this Ummah.
“He will break the cross and kill the pigs” means he will declare as false
the religion of the Christians by breaking the cross in a real sense and
proving false the Christians’ claims and veneration of the cross.
“and he will abolish the jizyah”:
al-Nawawi said:
The correct view concerning this is that he will not accept it, and he
will not accept anything from the kaafirs but Islam. If any of them offer
the jizyah that will not make him stop fighting them. Rather he will
not accept anything but Islam or death. This is the view of Imam Abu
Sulaymaan al-Khattaabi and other scholars (may Allaah have mercy on
them).

10. “Money will become abundant” – the reason for this abundance will
be the descent of blessings and the spread of goodness because of justice
and the absence of oppression or wrongdoing. At that time the earth
will bring forth its treasures, and desire to keep money will decrease
because they will know that that Hour is at hand.
Then he will die and the Muslims will offer the funeral prayer for him
and bury him.
It is narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings
of Allaah be upon him) said: “I am the closest of people to ‘Eesa ibn
Maryam because there was no Prophet between him and me…” Then
he mentioned his descent at the end of time. Then he said: “And he
will remain on earth for forty years, then he will die and the Muslims
will offer the funeral prayer for him.” [Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani
in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah (2182)].

We believe that he will disavow himself on the Day of Resurrection of
the claims that he was a god.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):{And (remember) when
Allaah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): 'O ‘Eesa (Jesus), son of
Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unto men: Worship me and my mother
as two gods besides Allaah?’ He will say: ‘Glory be to You! It was not
for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing,
You would surely have known it. You know what is in my inner‑self
though I do not know what is in Yours; truly, You, only You, are
the All‑Knower of all that is hidden (and unseen). (116) Never did I
say to them aught except what You (Allaah) did command me to say:

12. This is what the Muslims believe about the Messiah ‘Eesa ibn Maryam
(peace be upon him).
Al-Bukhari narrated from ‘Ubaadah (may Allaah be pleased with him)
that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“Whoever bears witness that there is no god but Allaah alone, with no
partner or associate, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger,
and that ‘Eesa is His slave and Messenger, a word which Allaah bestowed
upon Maryam and a spirit created by Him, and that Paradise is real, and
Hell is real, Allah will admit him into Paradise with the deeds which he
had done even if those deeds were few.”
«من شهد أن ال إله إال اهلل وحده ال شريك له، وأن حممدا عبده ورسوله، وأن عيسى عبد اهلل ورسوله، كلمتة
و
ألقاها إىل مرمي وروح منه، واجلنة حق، والنار حق، أدخله اهلل اجلنة على ما كان من العمل» رواه البخاري
We ask Allaah to make us steadfast in faith and to cause us to die as
believers.
May Allaah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad.
