- 2. Paragraph 1: Erik Johansson is a Swedish surrealism photographer based in Prague. He is known for his surreal concepts and composite editing. Hundreds of photos and elements can be found combined into just a single image. Erik takes all of these photos himself and works with them in a very meticulous way to make his vision a reality. He has definitely mastered the design process from start to finish. Paragraph 2: I am highly inspired by Eriks work because of his skilled technique, both behind the camera and post production. I’m really drawn to the moody edits and the realistic editing he preserves while keeping the fantasy aspect of the photo present. The dedication that goes into creating these photos is impressive, because the undoubtedly take a lot of time and thought process. I aim to one day get on a similar level as Erik. - 4. Paragraph 1: I’m a sucker for a well lit moon photo, whether it is a composite or not, so I was especially drawn to this photo for that reason. I hope to emulate the photo as much as possible with my own artistic editing decisions post production. Paragraph 2: I have a field out behind my house that will give me great space to make this photo a reality. I plan on using paper ball lighting, an A-frame ladder, miniature moon lamp and my van for all my props. I’m really eager to see if I can pull this off with a few helping hands. - 5. PRE VISUALTION I decided to go with a few Ikea paper lamps to get the cast lighting all in the right spots during the photo scene, as well as adding a moon lamp. I felt like the moon lamp would be great to take pictures of before hand to use as an overlay with texture and luminosity. Also as a backup incase the paper lamp idea is a bust. I have a wooden A- frame ladder to use and a field that looks just like this with tall grass right behind my house. I plan on using my mini-van and hoping I can get a similar concept across. 5

- 12. What I Learned & Want to Explore CIPo Assignment 4.1 The first thing I learned from this assignment, was to have more faith in myself! I wasn’t convinced I could take on such a great photo and I definitely surprised myself at the end. Secondly, the importance of planning and not rushing such a tedious piece is so important. Having a month to set this up and go through the process made it not feel rushed and overall went pretty smoothly. It’s definitely a recipe for success using a design process. I have come to really like compositing photos and surreal effects. It sets myself apart from other photographers who don’t offer such things. People really like this style of work, mainly because I think it makes them wonder how you created it. As challenging as this style is, I want to be confident and comfortable with it. The possibilities are endless.
