The document discusses basic principles of graphics and layout for online environments. It outlines principles such as balance, symmetry, emphasis, movement, pattern, repetition, rhythm, proportion, and variety. Balance refers to the even distribution of visual elements. Symmetrical and asymmetrical balance are discussed. Emphasis is the element that catches viewer attention. Movement is the path the eye takes through the design. Pattern, repetition and rhythm involve repeating elements to create unity and organization. Proportion concerns the relationship between different parts. Variety is used to maintain interest.

0x01 - Newton's Third Law: Static vs. Dynamic AbusersOWASP Beja
f you offer a service on the web, odds are that someone will abuse it. Be it an API, a SaaS, a PaaS, or even a static website, someone somewhere will try to figure out a way to use it to their own needs. In this talk we'll compare measures that are effective against static attackers and how to battle a dynamic attacker who adapts to your counter-measures.

4. • BALANCE . The visual weight of objects, texture, colors, and space is evenly distributed on the
screen.
• ♦ SYMMETRICAL BALANCE. The elements used on one side of the design are similar to those
on the similar side
• ♦ ASYMMETRICAL BALANCE . The side are different but still look balanced.

5. • • EMPHASIS. The part of the design that catches the viewer's attention. Usually the artist
will make one area stand out by contrasting it with other areas. The area could be
different in size, color, texture, shape,

6. • •MOVEMENT. The path the viewer's eye takes through the work of art, often to focal
areas. Such movement can be directed along lines, edges, shape, and color within the
work of art.

7. • • PATTERN, REPETITION, AND RHYTHM. The repeating of an object or symbol all over the
work of art. Repetition works with pattern to make the work of art seem active. The
repetition of elements of design creates unity within the work of art.
• • Rhythm is created when one or more elements of design are used repeatedly to create
a feeling of organized movement. Rhythm creates a mood like music or dancing. To keep
rhythm exciting and active, variety is essential.

8. • •PROPORTION. The feeling of unity created when all parts (sizes, amounts, or number)
relate well with each other. When drawing the human figure, proportion can refer:: to the
size of the head compared to the rest of the body.

9. • • VARIETY. The use of several elements of design to hold the viewer's attention and to
guide the viewer's eye through and around the work of art. Unity is the feeling of harmony
between all parts of the work of art, which creates a sense of completeness
