How to Conquer your Post-Election Data Chaos with the Cicero APIAzavea
This presentation has minimal words and lots of visuals (like any good presentation, though less interesting on slideshare!). If you would like to see the slides in context with audio, watch the Youtube video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B03WDe41uQg
Held on December 14, 2012, this webinar takes a look at five "data chaos" factors that many nonprofits and political advocacy groups are facing after the 2012 US elections. For each, we discuss ways that organizations can mitigate these challenges through district-matching, spatial analysis, technology, and the Cicero API for address-based elected official contact information.

Employment History
MicroGREEN Polymers, inc.
Food Container Manufacturing
February 2013 – January 2015
Quality Assurance Coordinator
I believe strongly in preserving our resources. After leaving Democracy Live,
I found this local startup company that made recyclable plastic cups from
partially recycled material. I started on the production line, and in two years,
I became the company’s expert on food safety and potential contamination
issues.
This company has recently closed its doors.
Democracy Live, Inc.
Voter Information Technologies
December, 2007 – January, 2013
Director of Project Management, Data Analyst
We started Democracy Live as an individual voter information platform that
would deliver candidate information to each voter, based on his or her ballot
options. In 2009, Federal legislation required each jurisdiction to deliver
ballots electronically to Military and Overseas voters. In 2010 we were able
to deliver electronic ballots to 6 states, using each county’s existing ballot
data. I was instrumental in guiding the development of the Democracy Live
technology through the labyrinth of election rules and options to achieve a
perfect result in every case.
During this time, I supplemented my income at times working in a
lumberyard and building independent web sites.
San Juan County Auditor’s Office
County Administration
June 2003 – December, 2007
San Juan County Elections Supervisor
I was promoted from Chief Recording Deputy to Elections Supervisor.
Elections in the early 2000s were under great scrutiny and change. As a
result of Federal grants that were made available to upgrade elections
systems, I was able to purchase all new hardware and software for the office.
Because of this change, procedures had to be updated in accordance with
existing laws and rules.
2. We also successfully conducted the closest Governor’s race in US history in
2004.
San Juan County Auditor’s Office
County Administration
September 1999 – June 2003
Chief Recording Deputy
The Chief Recording Deputy is in charge of all current and historical real
estate records within the county. These records include, among others,
deeds; deeds of trust; land surveys; and plat maps.
While serving as Chief Recording Deputy, I simultaneously served as
administrator for the Liberty Document Imaging System for all county
offices.
San Juan County Auditor’s Office
County Administration
May 1997 – September 1999
Departmental Assistant
I came to the Auditor’s office after a move to Washington State so that my
family could be closer to my aging parents. Prior to this move, I had a
successful career in lithography in the Midwest.
My proudest accomplishment in this position was to upgrade and enhance an
existing MSAccess database to improve speed and accuracy in distributing
copies of plat and survey maps to county customers.
King Typesetting, Inc.
Heartworks Inc.
MR Fab, Inc.
March 1995 – May 1997

After moving to Friday Harbor, I worked for three small companies that did
not survive.
