Emotional Intelligence:
Viewed from the Perspective of
The Knowledge of Wisdom
By

0.00 Preamble
We have worked at Agape
Consultants, Gboko in the last 28
years between January of 1988 and
August of 2015; to derive the basis
for the management of the human
resource, HR that is precise; like
engineering, architecture, and
accountancy, which is HR’s nearest
neighbor. Thus it would be possible
to derive a handful of metrics, which
objectively describe people, C organizations, ROI and the business environment, EB.
And this would be done within another handful of principles that clearly describe
these three, 3 concepts. In this case, we sought to put the right workforce, C in the
right environment, EB delivering profitable business results, ROI. The following two,
2 challenges were kernel, and needed to be surmounted:
To turn what we know, into what we do
To turn value, into wealth
While the first, 1st
challenge describes learning, the second, 2nd
describes wisdom.
To be learned, it would be sufficient that the intellect is astute. Wisdom however
goes beyond this, being inclusive of it, to involve the management of our feelings.

Recall the difficulty that has plagued the
attempt to correlate the intelligence
quotient, IQ with success. An important
ingredient in this relationship would be
the emotionality quotient, EQ. For
optimum success therefore, both
quotients would have to be optimum; an
omelet of the best from the west,
including objectivity and simplicity; and
the best from the east, which include
neutrality and self-control. Which
omelet has been made in Africa to
optimize the intellect, to focus our
feelings, for purpose attainment.
Quantum Physics would appear to have
resolved the dilemma with the IQ. Thus
the intellect would be sufficiently astute
when it reconstructs reality, adequately. Thanks to Plato, Einstein, Feynman, and
Hawking. But for feelings to be focused, psychology has waited for phenomenology,
to resolve the dilemma with emotions. This is a content that has been commonly
classed as metaphysics, being transcendental. And the most accurate information in
this regard has been the exclusive preserve of the east, which has had the courage to
invade this aspect of knowledge. The methodological difficulties that caused these
limitations are however being resolved. In general, humanity has been perturbed with
the following three, 3 dilemmas:
Time,
Space, and
Events
Thanks to Carlos Slim for popularizing the cell phone or GSM. Given the
appropriate network, it would be possible to connect with any person, anywhere in
the universe, instantaneously. This brings time into the control of humans in a way
that minimizes the perturbation that it causes the psyche. Bill Gates has also
commoditized the computer, to minimize the dilemma with space. Little memory
chips are able to hold vast amounts of information, which would otherwise have been
impossible to store, for the lack of space. Progress in these two, 2 areas have been
possible with the industrial and information revolutions. The resolution of the events
dilemma has awaited the knowledge revolution.
The industrial revolution exposed the human propensity to generate waste. This was
noted by Six Sigma, 6σ, which suggested the process as solution. The information
revolution put flesh to this suggestion when the fact, was recognized as the unit of
information. Thus the typical process would include a series of facts. The knowledge
revolution would be expected to limit, not only the choice of, but also the number of
facts, Nu that would reasonably outline a process. This would be achieved by the
knowledge of wisdom, which is at once inclusive of intellectual astuteness, F
emotional stability, A as well as focused feelings, L for A = LF2
. The following four,
4 principles work together in series, for this purpose:
3. Objectivity, f0
2. Neutrality, NtY
1. Self-Control, ScR
4. Simplicity, SpY
1.00 Objectivity
Following Einstein’s relativity principle, an event in space can be viewed from an
infinite number of positions, each of which would represent a perspective of the
event, uniquely. But by the normality principle in games theory, it would be possible
to reduce a game of infinite moves into one, 1 unit move, which would then be
iterated until the game ends. This principle points to the possibility of finding the
unit perspective of phenomena, despite the infinite number of options that may be
available. The duality series in operations research offers an outline of the unit
perspective, which we have adopted as the natural order, N-O. Serially:
Maxima
Minimax
Maximin
Minima
Recall the Platonian duality principle, following which nature could be reduced into
two, 2 worlds as follows:
The world of forms, L and
The world of objects, A
This requires that a procedure, Fn
is derived, for conversions between both worlds,
for L = AFn
. The N-O, which is an adaptation of the duality series, provides an
appropriate fundament for the standard procedure series, SPS both of which would
then be analogues. Recall also that Immanuel Kant distinguished between noumena
and phenomena, which would represent the N-O and the personal order, P-O
respectively. Then objectivity, f0 would be evaluated as the extent to which the P-O
approximates the N-O. It is measured on the F-Scale, which is an absolute scale
where the observed is evaluated as a ratio of the expected.
2.00 Neutrality
Neutrality is a concept in which
humans accept being one with the
universe. This is a conception that has
distinguished the western from the
eastern hemispheres to date. While the
west propagated a materialist science
that projected the human ego, to
separate people from the rest of the
universe; the east has persistently
maintained the unity of both, albeit the derogatory reference to this as being
metaphysical. But current research has reduced humanity into an energy system,
which energy is the common factor that permeates the universe. Thus humans
become conduits, who transfer energy from nature where it is stored, to society
where it is needed. In this case, society would be the product of the activities of
humans in nature. People would function in nature, to create civilizations, according
to their understanding of the universe.
This means that the better the universe
is understood, the more sophisticated
would be the civilization. With greater
objectivity therefore, for f0 → 1,
humans would be more efficient, with
minimum entropy contribution. This
would however be the case only when
f0 is evaluated as a function of
intellect and emotion, for IQ and EQ
respectively.
3.00 Self-Control
When information from the environment
enters the brain via the five, 5 senses, it
first, 1st
accesses the limbic lower region
of the brain at the back of the head. Then
it travels upwards into the cortex region
of the fore brain, which is located at the
top of the forehead. But both sections of
the brain possess the capacity to respond
to the stimuli, uniquely. This gives the
emotion the first opportunity for
response, which is illogical and often unstable, according to how it has been
programmed. The intellect is the logical component of the brain, which handles all
the analysis that is required for decision making. It is therefore better positioned for
responses than the emotion, when the correct facts have been learned. Recall that
because of gravity and relativity, the human perception of reality has been observed
to be warped. Ordinarily therefore, it would be impossible to approximate the N-O
exactly. This makes humans fundamentally subjective, and the emotion suspect, with
respect to the appropriateness of responses to stimuli. Until unlearning and
relearning have happened therefore, every stimulus would have to be closely
analyzed, for the appropriate interpretation. The following three, 3 mental memory
spaces have been commonly distinguished:
The conscious memory of the intellect,
The subconscious memory of the emotion, and
The unconscious memory of the will
Then learning begins with desire, which
resides in the emotion. But desire remains
dormant until the will becomes
committed to its fulfillment, according to
which all the energy that is required
would be released. The energy is
expended to derive the procedure for
desire fulfillment, and to resist the
interferences from the vagaries of the environment. The procedure is stored in the
subconscious memory of the emotion, from where it is accessed for responses to
stimuli. When these procedures are standardized, there would be no need for
unlearning and relearning. In this case, the person would have arrived at the level of
unconscious competency. Before then, self-control would be required; to put the
emotion on hold, while the intellect interprets the stimulus.
4.00 Simplicity
Recall the relativity principle and the
infinite number of possible
perspectives of phenomena. This
would mean that there would be an
infinitely possible number of realities, to which any person could subscribe. But like
the normality principle and the perspectives, there would be only one,1 objective
reality for each person. Moreover to define this reality, there would be an infinite
number of possible items from which to choose. But for efficiency and effectiveness,
only a handful of these items would be sufficient, if properly selected according to
the N-O. In this case the four, 4 items that adequately define any reality would be
referred to as the strategic objectives, to give flesh to the principle of the
management by objectives, MBO. Recall the Occam Razor principle, following
which the simplest of several alternative models would be preferred.
Beyond the objective perspectives and realities, the number of metrics that define
phenomena should also only be a handful, for efficiency and effectiveness. Then for
a workforce that would be retainable, RtN it would be sufficient to measure the
following metrics, in series:
3. Self-Containment, ScT
2. Self-Control, ScR
1. Objectivity, f0
4. Retention, RtN
And for the knowledge of
wisdom, the following
principles have been presented in this work to be sufficient, in series:
Learning defined as the capacity to turn what we know into what we do, has been
presented as a function of objectivity and simplicity, which are intellectual. And
wisdom, defined as the capacity to turn value into wealth, would be a function of
neutrality and self-control, which work together to focus our feelings. In general
however, for a precise HR that is able to put the right workforce in the right
environment delivering profitable business results, the following 6-metrics would
be sufficient:
This is actually an objective description of workforce engagement, EnG. And for an
optimized quality human-power resource, HpRQ that functions at the level of
unconscious competence, when procedures have been internalized, it would be
sufficient that the scores on the following metrics are equal:
3. Objectivity, f0 Wisdom
2. Neutrality, NtY 6. Feelings
1. Self-Control, ScR 5. Intellect
4. Simplicity, SpY
ScT = Self-Containment
f0 = Objectivity
RtN = Retention
EnG = Engagement
Org-C = Organizational Culture
EB = Business Environment
ScT
Org-C f0 EB
RtN
EnG
3. Self-Containment, ScT
2. Self-Control, ScR
1. Objectivity, f0
4. Retention, RtN
5.00 Concluding
Emotional Intelligence has been
commonly conceptualized to consist
of the following four, 4 skills:
Self-Awareness,
Self-Management,
Social-Awareness, and
Relationship-Management
These are descriptions of personal and social competences that influence learning as
the capacity to turn knowledge into action. For success ultimately however, the
component of wisdom as the capacity to reduce value into wealth would need to be
incorporated. This has been done in this work. Moreover, the omelet of learning and
wisdom makes events predictable. Look at the following quote from the scriptures:
So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul; If you have found it, there is a
prospect, And your hope will not be cut off
Proverbs, 2414

To be learned, it would be sufficient that the intellect is astute. Wisdom however goes beyond this, being inclusive of it, to involve the management of our feelings. • 3. Recall the difficulty that has plagued the attempt to correlate the intelligence quotient, IQ with success. An important ingredient in this relationship would be the emotionality quotient, EQ. For optimum success therefore, both quotients would have to be optimum; an omelet of the best from the west, including objectivity and simplicity; and the best from the east, which include neutrality and self-control. Which omelet has been made in Africa to optimize the intellect, to focus our feelings, for purpose attainment. Quantum Physics would appear to have resolved the dilemma with the IQ. Thus the intellect would be sufficiently astute when it reconstructs reality, adequately. Thanks to Plato, Einstein, Feynman, and Hawking. But for feelings to be focused, psychology has waited for phenomenology, to resolve the dilemma with emotions. This is a content that has been commonly classed as metaphysics, being transcendental. And the most accurate information in this regard has been the exclusive preserve of the east, which has had the courage to invade this aspect of knowledge. The methodological difficulties that caused these limitations are however being resolved. In general, humanity has been perturbed with the following three, 3 dilemmas: Time, Space, and Events Thanks to Carlos Slim for popularizing the cell phone or GSM. Given the appropriate network, it would be possible to connect with any person, anywhere in the universe, instantaneously. This brings time into the control of humans in a way that minimizes the perturbation that it causes the psyche. Bill Gates has also commoditized the computer, to minimize the dilemma with space. • 4. chips are able to hold vast amounts of information, which would otherwise have been impossible to store, for the lack of space. Progress in these two, 2 areas have been possible with the industrial and information revolutions. The resolution of the events dilemma has awaited the knowledge revolution. The industrial revolution exposed the human propensity to generate waste. This was noted by Six Sigma, 6σ, which suggested the process as solution. The information revolution put flesh to this suggestion when the fact, was recognized as the unit of information. Thus the typical process would include a series of facts. The knowledge revolution would be expected to limit, not only the choice of, but also the number of facts, Nu that would reasonably outline a process. This would be achieved by the knowledge of wisdom, which is at once inclusive of intellectual astuteness, F emotional stability, A as well as focused feelings, L for A = LF2 . The following four, 4 principles work together in series, for this purpose: 3. Objectivity, f0 2. Neutrality, NtY 1. Self-Control, ScR 4. Simplicity, SpY 1.00 Objectivity Following Einstein’s relativity principle, an event in space can be viewed from an infinite number of positions, each of which would represent a perspective of the event, uniquely. But by the normality principle in games theory, it would be possible to reduce a game of infinite moves into one, 1 unit move, which would then be iterated until the game ends. This principle points to the possibility of finding the unit perspective of phenomena, despite the infinite number of options that may be available. The duality series in operations research offers an outline of the unit perspective, which we have adopted as the natural order, N-O. Serially: Maxima Minimax Maximin Minima
  • 5. Recall the Platonian duality principle, following which nature could be reduced into two, 2 worlds as follows: The world of forms, L and The world of objects, A This requires that a procedure, Fn is derived, for conversions between both worlds, for L = AFn . The N-O, which is an adaptation of the duality series, provides an appropriate fundament for the standard procedure series, SPS both of which would then be analogues. Recall also that Immanuel Kant distinguished between noumena and phenomena, which would represent the N-O and the personal order, P-O respectively. Then objectivity, f0 would be evaluated as the extent to which the P-O approximates the N-O. It is measured on the F-Scale, which is an absolute scale where the observed is evaluated as a ratio of the expected. 2.00 Neutrality Neutrality is a concept in which humans accept being one with the universe. This is a conception that has distinguished the western from the eastern hemispheres to date. While the west propagated a materialist science that projected the human ego, to separate people from the rest of the universe; the east has persistently maintained the unity of both, albeit the derogatory reference to this as being metaphysical. But current research has reduced humanity into an energy system, which energy is the common factor that permeates the universe. Thus humans become conduits, who transfer energy from nature where it is stored, to society where it is needed. In this case, society would be the product of the activities of humans in nature. People would function in nature, to create civilizations, according to their understanding of the universe.
  • 6. This means that the better the universe is understood, the more sophisticated would be the civilization. With greater objectivity therefore, for f0 → 1, humans would be more efficient, with minimum entropy contribution. This would however be the case only when f0 is evaluated as a function of intellect and emotion, for IQ and EQ respectively. 3.00 Self-Control When information from the environment enters the brain via the five, 5 senses, it first, 1st accesses the limbic lower region of the brain at the back of the head. Then it travels upwards into the cortex region of the fore brain, which is located at the top of the forehead. But both sections of the brain possess the capacity to respond to the stimuli, uniquely. This gives the emotion the first opportunity for response, which is illogical and often unstable, according to how it has been programmed. The intellect is the logical component of the brain, which handles all the analysis that is required for decision making. It is therefore better positioned for responses than the emotion, when the correct facts have been learned. Recall that because of gravity and relativity, the human perception of reality has been observed to be warped. Ordinarily therefore, it would be impossible to approximate the N-O exactly. This makes humans fundamentally subjective, and the emotion suspect, with respect to the appropriateness of responses to stimuli. Until unlearning and relearning have happened therefore, every stimulus would have to be closely analyzed, for the appropriate interpretation. The following three, 3 mental memory spaces have been commonly distinguished:
  • 7. The conscious memory of the intellect, The subconscious memory of the emotion, and The unconscious memory of the will Then learning begins with desire, which resides in the emotion. But desire remains dormant until the will becomes committed to its fulfillment, according to which all the energy that is required would be released. The energy is expended to derive the procedure for desire fulfillment, and to resist the interferences from the vagaries of the environment. The procedure is stored in the subconscious memory of the emotion, from where it is accessed for responses to stimuli. When these procedures are standardized, there would be no need for unlearning and relearning. In this case, the person would have arrived at the level of unconscious competency. Before then, self-control would be required; to put the emotion on hold, while the intellect interprets the stimulus. 4.00 Simplicity Recall the relativity principle and the infinite number of possible perspectives of phenomena. This would mean that there would be an infinitely possible number of realities, to which any person could subscribe. But like the normality principle and the perspectives, there would be only one,1 objective reality for each person. Moreover to define this reality, there would be an infinite number of possible items from which to choose. But for efficiency and effectiveness, only a handful of these items would be sufficient, if properly selected according to the N-O. In this case the four, 4 items that adequately define any reality would be referred to as the strategic objectives, to give flesh to the principle of the management by objectives, MBO. Recall the Occam Razor principle, following which the simplest of several alternative models would be preferred.
  • 8. Beyond the objective perspectives and realities, the number of metrics that define phenomena should also only be a handful, for efficiency and effectiveness. Then for a workforce that would be retainable, RtN it would be sufficient to measure the following metrics, in series: 3. Self-Containment, ScT 2. Self-Control, ScR 1. Objectivity, f0 4. Retention, RtN And for the knowledge of wisdom, the following principles have been presented in this work to be sufficient, in series: Learning defined as the capacity to turn what we know into what we do, has been presented as a function of objectivity and simplicity, which are intellectual. And wisdom, defined as the capacity to turn value into wealth, would be a function of neutrality and self-control, which work together to focus our feelings. In general however, for a precise HR that is able to put the right workforce in the right environment delivering profitable business results, the following 6-metrics would be sufficient: This is actually an objective description of workforce engagement, EnG. And for an optimized quality human-power resource, HpRQ that functions at the level of unconscious competence, when procedures have been internalized, it would be sufficient that the scores on the following metrics are equal: 3. Objectivity, f0 Wisdom 2. Neutrality, NtY 6. Feelings 1. Self-Control, ScR 5. Intellect 4. Simplicity, SpY ScT = Self-Containment f0 = Objectivity RtN = Retention EnG = Engagement Org-C = Organizational Culture EB = Business Environment ScT Org-C f0 EB RtN EnG
  • 9. 3. Self-Containment, ScT 2. Self-Control, ScR 1. Objectivity, f0 4. Retention, RtN 5.00 Concluding Emotional Intelligence has been commonly conceptualized to consist of the following four, 4 skills: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social-Awareness, and Relationship-Management These are descriptions of personal and social competences that influence learning as the capacity to turn knowledge into action. For success ultimately however, the component of wisdom as the capacity to reduce value into wealth would need to be incorporated. This has been done in this work. Moreover, the omelet of learning and wisdom makes events predictable. Look at the following quote from the scriptures: So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul; If you have found it, there is a prospect, And your hope will not be cut off Proverbs, 2414
