The IPCC has three working groups that assess different aspects of climate change. Working Group I assesses the physical scientific basis of climate change. Working Group II assesses the impacts of climate change on human and natural systems, as well as vulnerabilities and adaptation options. Working Group III assesses options for mitigating climate change through limiting greenhouse gas emissions. Each working group is led by co-chairs and contributes to the IPCC's comprehensive assessment reports on understanding climate change, its impacts and responses.
