The students in the class chose to learn about sharks. They brainstormed what they already knew about sharks and questions they had. They discussed the best ways to research sharks, such as looking at books, websites, and potentially visiting an aquarium. The class then worked together to organize what they learned about sharks' appearance, diet, habitat, behaviors and more. They began learning about different shark species and characteristics.
The students had many misconceptions about leopards. They investigated leopards further by bringing in information from their families and researching online. They learned that:
1) Leopards live in the savannas of Africa and forests of Asia, often living near zebras, lions, monkeys and ostriches in Africa.
2) Leopards hunt many animals like monkeys, ostrich chicks, zebras, gazelles, deer and crocodiles. They sneak up on prey and wait in tall grass to attack.
3) Leopards sleep in trees, hanging upside down with their paws dangling.
4) The mother leopard gives birth and cares for the cubs
The students in the class studied fish as their class project. They researched fish, created an index of what they wanted to learn, organized the information on a classroom mural, and experimented. They learned about how fish breathe, move, are born, eat and digest food, float, and more. They decorated their classroom door and set up an aquarium as part of their project.

A partir de la publicació de les Competències de l’àmbit de coneixement de medi, es va generar la necessitat de revisar el què, com i per a què ha d’aprendre l’alumne i, consegüentment, el rol del mestre. En aquesta càpsula intentarem donar resposta a totes aquestes necessitats a partir de l’anàlisi del currículum i de la presentació d’activitats dutes a terme a l’aula.
Aquesta presentació és un recorregut pel desenvolupament del projecte TIC creat per l'assignatura Noves Tecnologies de la informació i la comunicació en educació.
