4. WHAT IS STATIC
ELECTRICITY?
One of the most fantastic displays of electricity in
nature is lightning. Lighting occurs when large amounts
of electrostatic energy builds up in clouds from the
energy of storms. When electrically charged regions of
clouds discharge their energy, a large flash of
electricity can be seen in the sky. Lighting may occur
from cloud to cloud or it can occur from cloud to the
ground. Lighting strikes carry huge amounts of energy.
creates a loud noise called thunder.
5. WHAT IS AN
ELECTRIC CIRCUIT
An electrical circuit is a path or line through which an electrical current flows. The path
may be closed (joined at both ends), making it a loop. A closed circuit makes electrical
current flow possible. It may also be an open circuit where the electron flow is cut short
because the path is broken. An open circuit does not allow electrical current to flow.

10. WHO WAS
THOMAS EDISON
Thomas Edison may be the greatest inventor in
history. He has over 1000 inventions in his
name.
Many of his inventions still have a major affect
on our lives today, like the discovery electricity,
the phonograph, the electric bulb and the
kinetoscope.
He created the first scientific laboratory , he
had a group of people working for him such as
engineers, mathematicians and scientists.
