Introduction
 A jack is a mechanical device used to lift
heavy loads or apply great forces.
 It is a design for lifting cars, vehicles etc.
 A mechanical jack is a device which lifts
heavy equipment.
 Car jacks usually use mechanical
advantage to allow a human to lift a
vehicle by manual force alone.
 The motors used in this project are D.C.
motors.
 The conversion of electrical energy into
mechanical energy by a electromagnetic
means is demonstrated by the British
scientist Michael Faraday in 1821.
 Jedlik's "electromagnetic self-rotor", 1827.
(Museum of Applied Arts, Budapest. The
historic motor still works perfectly today.)
 A screw jack is a mechanical device that can
increase the magnitude of an effort force.
 A jackscrew is a type of jack which is
operated by turning a leadscrew.
THE STUDY AREA
 The main area for this study is to choose
the best deisgn possible for the lifting
mechanism and to install the electric
motor interface with the jack
 A 30 rpm DC Geared motor for the
design due to its high torque and
sufficiently high power to lift the jack up
and down.
LIST OF COMPONENTS
USED
 Base Plate

Objective
 The aim of our project is to design an
electric jack to lift the vehicle with the
help of electric current through a motor
(dc geared)
 Thus this project helps in replacing the
mechanical jacks used in industries with
more easily operated and reliable
electric jack.
