Electric
Generator
A MEANS TO PRODUCE ELECTRICITY
Introduction
Before man was able to manipulate with energy,
they had to find different means to produce energy
and to create efficient energy. Enter the creation of
the Electric Generator! A device used to produce
electric energy and is used to power our very own
society
What is an electric
generator?
electric generator, also called dynamo, any
machine that converts mechanical energy
to electricity for transmission and
distribution over power lines to domestic,
commercial, and industrial customers
Generator
The first person to have ever created an electric generator
is Michael Faraday
From his concept about Faradays Law, he was able to
conceptualize the Idea about making an electric
generator

Parts of an Electric
Generator
Parts of an
Electric
Generator
Stator – Stationary and does not
move
Rotor – produces the electromotive
force
Commutator – alternates the
current of the electric
generator/motor
Brush – conducts electricity on the
stationary and moving parts of the
motor/generator
