- 1. 22 June 2013 RE: Letter of Recommendation – Shield Security Services Mr. Josip Baric To Whom It May Concern: It is with pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Mr. Josip Baric. He was employed full-time with Shield Security Services from 24 April 2011 through 20 June 2013. He served as Training Specialist at our location at Camp Green Village in Kabul, Afghanistan, as well as Security Manager for one of the company’s off-site contract locations. Shield Security Services is majority American owned and Afghan licensed and registered. The company has provided security for private and US military facilities throughout Afghanistan since 2008. In his position as Training Specialist, Mr. Baric planned and conducted weekly tactical and combat training classes for more than 200 Third Country National (TCN) and Expatriate security guards. Class plans included both theoretical and practical exercises influenced by his anti-terrorism training background. As Security Manager for Serena Hotel, Kabul, Mr. Baric was responsible for daily inspections of a high profile, high-risk venue with a total of 90 Local National (LN) guards. He conducted daily briefings with the Guard Force Commander, trained the guards, and oversaw their time sheets/payroll and equipment and weapons maintenance.
