1. EFL SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
C1 To describe and appreciate the world’s linguistic and cultural diversity, based on the recognition of the students' languages and the
plurilingual and intercultural reality, to promote linguistic transfer, to identify and reject linguistic stereotypes and prejudices and to
value this diversity as a source of cultural wealth.
C2 To understand and to interpret oral and multimodal texts, in the standard language, grasping the general meaning and the most
relevant information, its form and its content, to build knowledge, form an opinion and expand the possibilities of enjoyment and
leisure
C3 To produce oral and multimodal texts with appropriate coherence, clarity and register, attending to the conventions of the different
discursive genres, and to participate in varied oral interactions, with autonomy, to express ideas, feelings and concepts, build
knowledge and establish personal bonds
C4 To understand, interpret and analyze, with a critical eye and different reading purposes, written and multimodal texts recognizing their
overall meaning as well as the main and secondary ideas, identifying the intention of the sender, reflecting on the content and the
form and evaluating their quality and reliability, to build knowledge and respond to diverse communicative needs and interests
C5 To produce written and multimodal texts with adequacy, coherence and cohesion, applying elementary planning, drafting, revision,
correction and editing strategies, with peer regulation, progressive self-regulation and autonomy, attending to the conventions of the
chosen discursive genre, to build knowledge and give informed, effective and creative responses to specific communicative demands
C6 To search, select and contrast information from different sources in a progressively autonomous manner, evaluating its reliability and
relevance following the reading objectives, avoiding the risks of manipulation and misinformation, and integrating and transforming it
into knowledge to communicate it, adopting a critical point of view, personal and respectful of intellectual property.
C7 To independently select and read various works as a source of pleasure and knowledge, setting up a reading itinerary that is
progressively enriched in terms of the diversity, complexity and quality of the works, and share reading experiences to build one's
own reading identity and enjoy social dimension of reading
C8 To mediate between different languages, using simple strategies and knowledge aimed at explaining concepts or simplifying
messages, to transmit information effectively, clearly and responsibly
C9 Expand and use personal linguistic repertoires between different languages, reflecting critically on their functioning and becoming
aware of their own strategies and knowledge, to improve one’s response to specific communicative
needs.
2. C10 To put one's communication practices at the service of democratic coexistence, the dialogic resolution of conflicts and the equal
rights of all people, using non-discriminatory language and banishing abuses of power
through the word, to promote an effective use, of ethical and democratic language
