• A common way of publishing data on aid flows
• Data can be analysed, interpreted or visualised
• Benefits:
• Recipient governments have better information about incoming
flows, making it easier to identify 'donor darlings' and 'aid
orphans', both now and in the future
• Donors and NGOs can see what other donors and NGOs are
funding and working on collaboration, effectiveness, evidence-
based decision-making
• Donor country taxpayers know how their aid is being spent
• Developing country citizens, NGOs and communities have better
information with which to hold their own governments and
international donors and NGOs to account
