  2. 2. Aims of this Workshop  Help you understand the value & use of the new Effectiveness Toolkit (ETK)  Provide an opportunity to hear from an organisation using the ETK  Support you to confidently use the MOT & Full Assessment  Inform you of NIDOS support available
  3. 3. Introductions in pairs • Your name and your organisation • What do you hope the Effectiveness toolkit will do for your organisation? Please write your thoughts for second bullet on post-its (one item per post-it, if more than one)
  4. 4. What is the NIDOS Effectiveness Toolkit (ETK) trying to achieve? Helping organisations to: • document existing good practice • highlight areas for improvement • develop actions plans for these • share approaches to effectiveness and provide peer support meetings
  5. 5. Main audience for ETK • Targeted at small organisations, but can be used by any • MOT is freely available for all • Full Assessment free to NIDOS members • Incorporates self-assessment process - but not an audit tool

Organisation benefits: • Clearer communication of your mission: leading to better fundraising & mobilising of further support • Prioritised areas for improvement: where to start and minimum standards • Strengthened demonstration, to supporters, of value for money and use of time • Improved work delivery - the main aim of your work
  7. 7. Continued... • Better systems for monitoring, evaluation and learning • Evidence of good practice gathered for reporting to: funders, supporters and the public • Improved volunteer and staff morale   • Clarity and cohesion among people in the organisation through working group process
  8. 8. 2 Stage process of assessment Stage 1: MOT Stage 2: Full Assessment Both are self assessments by the organisation (not an audit or external evaluation) NIDOS members can get help with carrying out a self-assessment from NIDOS
