Edvard Munch was a Norwegian painter born in 1863 who died in 1944 in Oslo. He is best known for his painting "The Scream" which depicts a figure with an agonized expression on a bridge overlooking a fjord with curved colorful lines. Munch often explored themes of anxiety, fear, and mental illness in his work through the use of vivid colors and expressive lines that evoked intense emotions.
