Through June 2-12, Kraft Canada will match donations up to $150,000 to Edmonton's Food Bank. The food bank provides food for approximately 11,000 people per month and collected over 3 million kilograms of food in 2008. Donations can be made at grocery stores and fire stations. Edmonton's Food Bank was the first food bank established in Canada in 1981.

Cat Care Society (CCS) has built its annual year-end appeal around the success of recent work with a senior cat named Willie by the Society staff. Willie's compelling story spans several years and shows the Cat Care Society's code of not giving up on any cat and the CCS team's determination to find all its cat residents the perfect "forever homes."
JCFS Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Day of Servicejcfscommunication
Close to 70 employees from Jewish Child & Family Services in Chicago volunteered at 8 locations in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Day of Service on January 16, 2012.
Chris spent a month in the North East of Brazil, working to develop a new communications campaign for an HIV/Aids NGO called Gestos, with their host agency Mart Pet. The brief from Gestos was to: ‘Create a communications plan for the launch of their 15th anniversary in 2008’, as well as to come up with ideas on how Gestos will get the funds to create and run it.
Chris found the placement challenging, daunting at times, but overall extremely rewarding. He discovered more about the world of development, learned how to approach communications for HIV/Aids, stretched himself from a professional and personal point of view and created some fantastic work for the organisation.
